12: 나는 당신을 사랑합니다

Korean shows are more entertaining than anything I've seen XD

Mark's POV

"But those two sound exactly the same!" Y/n exclaims, a brow raised.

"No, that one sounds as if you were at the doctors and they told you to make that noise when they insert that stick down your throat," (of course it sounds dirty XD) I smile, seeing Y/n laugh at my example. "that one sounds like an O."

"So then," She pauses, staring at the paper. "Annyeonghi kaysaeyo?" Y/n raises an eyebrow, staring at me, asking if she said it right.

"Yes!" I smile, holding my hand up for a high five. She smiles excitedly, slapping my hand. "Do you know what you said, though?" I chuckle.

"Oh no, was it something bad?" She asks, her face falling along with her shoulders.

"No," I shake my head. "you said "Go well" in Korean, which is saying goodbye." I shrug.

"How did we get here?" Y/n chuckles.

"What do you mean?" I ask.

"How did we get on the topic of learning Korean?"

"Well, you found a list of words my mom gave me to memorize and asked me what it was," I shrug. "then you asked me to teach you some."

Y/n came over to my house again today. She didn't mention anything about coming over but, hey, I'm not complaining. More time with her is fine with me. My mom didn't seem to mind either, she was extremely excited.

"Do you remember all this?" She asks, pointing at the list of hangul.

"Yeah," I smile proudly. "my mom has been teaching for for a few years."

"Really?" She smiles, interested in my reply. "Say something."

"Like what?" I giggle.

"Anything." She shrugs, staring at me amusedly.

"아무것도," (Pronounced: Amugeotto)Staring at her, my smile grows. "which is anything in Korean."

"Are you fluent in Korean?" She asks, leaning back against the arm rest of the small couch sitting in the basement.

"Almost," I shrug.

"Keep speaking in that language!" She giggles adorably. "It sounds cool!"

(Okay, am I the only one that thinks any foreign language sounds cool and could listen to it all day?)

"이것은 왜 그렇게 당신에 게 재미 있는?" (Pronounced: Igeoseun wae keureohge tangsine ke chaemi issneun)I laugh nervously, running a hand through my hair.

She stares at me with the biggest, cutest smile on her face. "What was that?"

"Why is this so amusing to you?" I translated.

"Because it sounds cool! Now what did you say?!" She asks again.

"That is what I said!" I laugh. Her head falls into her hand as she laughs along.

"I'm an idiot!" She giggles.

"You can be." I joke. She reaches over and slaps my arm, laughing.

"What?! I was only agreeing with you!" I defend.

"Whatever," She rolled her eyes. "say something else!"

"Again?" I whine.

"Yes!" She smiles.

"It's harder to come up with things to say than it looks like!" I groan.

She doesn't answer, instead stares at me expectantly. My eyes dart around the basement for things to say. Looking around, I try to make a sentence out of things I see but fail. My eyes suddenly land on Y/n and an idea comes to mind, a smirk forming on my face.

"나는 당신을 사랑합니다." (Pronounced: Naneun tangsineul saranghamnida)

"What does that mean?" She asks excitedly, as if she's never heard a different language before.

"You'll have to find that out for yourself." I smirk, folding my arms.

She raises an eyebrow confusedly. "You said "You'll have to find out for yourself" or I actually have to find out what you said?"

"You actually have to find out what I said." I laugh.

"No, you can't do that!" She points at me as if she was telling the police who the criminal was.

"Can and did!" I smile triumphantly.

"You can't do that either!" She laughs.

"Can and did!" I repeat, laughing as well.

"No!" Her arm that was pointed towards me fell as she laughed. "At least write it down so I can look it up?"

"Not how that works." I shake my head.

"You got to break the rules so I can too!" She smirks, thinking she won.

"You already do!" I raise my voice, a smile plastered on my face.

"Exactly!" She giggles. "Write it down!" She demands nicely. Her eyes stare into mine with a sweet smile on her face. "Please?" She begs, acting extra adorable.

I sigh, standing up and walking into my room. "Fine," I groan. "why is it so important to you?" I ask, pulling a piece of paper out from my desk drawer.

"Because if you wont tell me, it has to be something big, right?" She says, peering down over my shoulder as I write. I begin to struggle to focus as she gets closer to me, wanting better view of the paper. Its like she knows what shes doing to me.

나는 당신을 사랑합니다

She grabs the paper once I'm done, eyeing it weirdly. The room falls silent as she mumbles to herself. She slowly falls onto the edge of my bed, still mumbling. She's trying to figure out how to say it. After a minute or two, she lifts her head and meets eyes with me.

"Naneun tangsineul saranghamnida?"

I smile as she says it. A light blush covers my face as I imagine her saying it to me.

"You said it perfectly!" I smile, giving her a high five.

"Yes!" She smiles in victory. "Now, how do I look this up? Do I have to put the Korean keyboard on my phone?" She asks, pulling her phone out from her back pocket.

Before she can do anything, I grab the paper from her hands and rip it into pieces. She looks at me in complete shock, a smile wanting to break free but she wouldn't allow it. Soon, she bursts out laughing. I laughed along, her cute laugh making me ten times happier.

"Dude, what the hell?" She laughs.

"What?" I shrug as if nothing happened.

"Is it that big a deal, I can't even look it up where it will most likely come up completely wrong?" She ask, her smile still shining.

"Yes!" I nod.

나는 당신을 사랑합니다 = I love you
