"Promise me you will seek vengeance on all vampires."

"I promise I will dad!" I squeak.

"Good now, lets start practicing. Shall we?" My father asked.

"Can we!?!?" I squeal.

"Of course, you must be trained after all." My father grinned.

We walked into the training ground where we saw other vampire hunters training.

"This my son is where you will spend your life training to kill all of those blood suckers." He said with pride.

I look up at him, "But what if they are good?"

"Why would a creature that kills be good!" He snapped.

My eyes started tearing up and I started crying.

I feel a large hand positioning itself on my back, "I'm sorry I snapped. But why would you think they are good?"

"I was just wondering." I say between sniffles.

"Well lets get you cleaned up so we can practice. Alright?"

I nod and follow him back to the house.

-15 years later-

"Take that you blood sucker!"

I jab my blade into his heart and he falls to the ground.

I run over to where Adam is positioned.

"Need help?" I ask.

"Naw, I'm good." He replies without making eye contact.

We hear a loud agonizing yowl and I run in the direction it came from.

I turn a corner and wish I hadn't.

"Da-dad?!" I yell.

I run up to his limp body and put his head in my lap.

"Dad please don't leave me." I sob.

"Son.." He gasps.

"Do you promise to protect everyone from the vampires?"

"Yes!! I do!! I promise!!" I sob louder.

"Then don't break your promise...." He falls limp.

I try to find his heartbeat.

Nothing.

"FATHER!!!" I yell.

A hand rests on my shoulder, "C'mon lets go home."

"Adam, I don't know what else I can do."

"You can keep your promise and fight with me."

"Of course, now lets get home and have a hunters burial."
