Chapter 2

After the initial introduction, when the headless headmistress and the Queen gracefully made their exit, a group of six, led by Frankie, proceeded through the bustling school. The mass of students, like a shifting sea, respectfully parted ways to accommodate the group's passage, their gazes lingering curiously on the newcomer.

Excitedly taking on the role of tour guide, Frankie beckoned her companions forward, her voice filled with familiarity as she introduced the area ahead.

Frankie announced, "The coffin corridor is the first stop on the tour."

This entrance hall, shrouded in an air of mystery, displayed its somber charm through walls adorned in a deep hue of regal purple. Below, the floor's intricate coral blue tiling added a contrasting touch of whimsy, leading the eye towards the grand spectacle of the dual staircases ascending to the upper floor.

"Monsters just love to fang out here in the mornings before class," Draculaura remarked with enthusiasm, as Star marveled at the décor.

Clawdeen began, "It's great and everything, but you need to watch out during class hours, or you'll..." She was cut off when Star bumped into another ghoul, sending them both tumbling to the ground. "...bump into someone."

"I am so sorry, I wasn't paying attention..." the ghoul began, but upon recognizing the other, she quickly embraced her in a warm hug. "Star!"

"Venus? I had no idea you went here," Star exclaimed, matching the enthusiasm of the hug.

Venus Mcflytrap, captivating with her striking appearance characterized by vibrant green skin and long tendrils of pink and green hair, was a creature hailing from the species known as the plant Dionaea muscipula, more commonly referred to as the Venus Flytrap.

"Yes, I love it here," Venus stated with a warm smile.

"So, you two know each other?" Draculaura asked curiously, her interest piqued by the connection between Venus and the princess.

"We do," Venus informed the group, her voice carrying a hint of pride as she revealed her family's origins. "I'm not sure if you know, but my family has deep roots in the elemental Kingdom."

"We met some years ago at a royal conference," Star chimed in, surprising her five tour guides with this unexpected revelation.

"Royal Conference? As in a gathering of the royal family?" Clawdeen asked in her signature Brooklyn accent, her eyes widening with intrigue.

"I had no idea you were related to royalty, Venus," Frankie exclaimed, her tone filled with admiration for her friend's noble lineage.

"My father is a second cousin to the Earth King," Venus stated with a shrug.

"The royal conference is partly to socialize and get to know family members," Star explained, turning to Frankie with pleading eyes. "Can Venus please come with us on the tour?" she asked, a hopeful expression on her face.

"Umm, I don't know," Frankie said, her voice tinged with uncertainty as she mulled over Miss Bloodgood's words of caution.

Just then, a wild, hot-headed elemental came charging down the hall toward them.

"Hey ghouls!!" Heath's voice echoed through the corridor.

Hearing the familiar call, Star instinctively spun around, her eyes scanning the hallway for the source of the shout, only to have her view obscured as Clawdeen chuckled nervously and inadvertently stepped in her line of sight.

"Of course, Venus can come. The more, the scarier," Clawdeen remarked with a hint of jest in her tone, a nervous laughter bubbling up amidst the tension of the moment.

Frankie took charge, gently but urgently guiding Star down an alternate hallway as she cheerfully announced, "Next on the tour is the Crybaby," setting a brisk pace for the group to follow.

Heath, determined not to be left behind, pushed his adrenaline-charged limbs to propel himself foward, only to find himself inadvertently caught in a collision course within the coffin corridor. In a cascade of misfortune, he collided with one monster, who in turn crashed into another, setting off a domino effect that culminated in a chaotic pile-up with Heath at the center.

(Time Skip)

After the tour of the monstrously large Crybaby, Cleo decided to stop following them abruptly. She firmly asserted, with a bored expression, that she had other pressing matters that urgently required her attention.

After their rigorous morning classes, a routine which involved Star being specifically tasked with accompanying at least one of them the their classes. As the clock struck noon, it signaled the arrival of their much-anticipated lunch break.

"The last stop on our tour is the indoor pool," Lagoona stated, her voice echoing in the dimly lit space, the air heavy with the scent of chlorine. "One of the deepest pools in the world," she added, her eyes shining with pride as she led the way through the dark and damp pool area.

As they walked, Star took in the surroundings – bleachers off to the side, locker rooms at the far end, and in the center of the room, a large swimming pool glimmered invitingly under the soft glow of overhead lights, a solitary diving board.

"I love it," Star exclaimed, her excitement palpable as she watched sharp-toothed fish darting in and out of the water. "Nowadays they put chlorine in to clean it, but it turns my hair blue," she said, a hint of amusement coloring her tone

Lagoona, clearly enthralled by the conversation, chimed in, "Me too! But it's an off-the-scales look, isn't it?" Her eyes sparkled mischievously as she filled her blonde hair with blue high-lights.

With a laugh, Star turned back to the water, suddenly eager for a refreshing dip. "Do you mind if I take a short dip?" she asked, her eyes lighting up with anticipation.

"Of course not," Lagoona replied, returning her enthusiasm with a friendly wink. "Just as long as you don't mind if I tag along?"

"Really? Let's go," Star exclaimed, seizing Lagoona's hand excitedly before both of them dove into the cool, inviting waters.

As the two happily swam, the rest of the ghouls sat down on the bleachers. With their eyes darting anxiously around the pool area, their worry for Heath heightened.

"It looks like we're in the clear, guys. I don't see any sign of Heath," Frankie assured them, causing a collective exhale of tension as everyone relaxed, relief evident on their faces as they scanned the surroundings for any sign of their wild friend.

Clawdeen, her frustration palpable, added with a growl, "What is up with that boy. He's been chasing us all day, and I've just about had it." Expressing her exasperation, she continued, "He gives up halfway through the lessons in class, so why is he suddenly so determined?"

Draculaura mused, "I never knew Heath was this persistent. Maybe he just wants to meet the new student." She offered a possible innocent explanation.

Venus, her protective instincts flaring up as she interjected angrily, "More like meet his next victim. Do you remember when Abby got here? He was a flirting machine. He had better not come near my friend." Her sharp words reflected her strong stance.

As the group pondered the situation and exchanged theories, Frankie reminded them of Head Mistress Bloodgood's instructions, "Well, whatever he's up to, Head Mistress Bloodgood said we should keep Heath away, and that's what we have to do," she affirmed. The distant bell chimed, signaling the end of lunch, prompting Lagoona and Star to reluctantly leave the pool.

Clawdeen, already feeling the weight of the upcoming classes and there next encounter with Heath, expressed her frustration, "Just two more classes to go," her voice filled with a mix of resignation.

Lagoona and Star glided through the water, moving closer together before they finally emerged from the pool. "That felt refreshing," Star remarked, her skin glistening as she soaked in the refreshing sensation. She then turned to face the rest of the group, curiosity evident in her expression. "So, what class do we have next?"

"Well, Lagoona, Venus, and I have History of the Undead with Mr. Rotter," Frankie said cheerfully as she handed Lagoona a towel to dry off.

"And, you, Clawdeen, and I are in Clawculus with Head Mistress Bloodgood," added Draculaura enthusiastically, joining the conversation with a skip in her step.

With a sense of unity and understanding, they bid each other goodbye and headed off to their respective classes.

Upon entering the class, all eyes were on them as the three ghouls sat in the front row. The room, more reminiscent of a large lecture hall with its elevated seating.

Meanwhile, Draculaura animatedly filled Clawdeen in on the most recent gossip making the rounds among the students. As they exchanged whispers, Draculaura's gaze suddenly fixed on a figure standing at the top of the stairs. Alarmed, she urgently nudged Clawdeen to redirect her attention. Clawdeen, following Draculaura's gaze, paled as she saw Heath making his way down the stairs, his eyes locked onto them with an intensity that sent a shiver down their spines.

"Look star, Isn't that your mom?" Clawdeen said, quickly noticing the headless headmistress enter the classroom along with the Queen, their regal presence commanding the attention of all the students. "You should go say hi," Clawdeen suggested with a gentle nudge and eager.

Unbeknownst to Star, Heath, had followed her movements as he hurried to catch up. However, in his hastened approach, Heath's lost his footing, causing him to lose his balance and stumble awkwardly down the stairs, his unexpected fall attracting the startled gaze of the onlookers, drawing gasps and exclamations from the students witnessing the chaotic scene unfold.

Amidst the chaos, Star suddenly heard a shrill cry, prompting her to turn around just in time to see a flame-haired monster hurtling towards her, a moment of impending collision.

The moment the two figures collided, a thick, swirling black mist rapidly enveloped the space, leaving everyone momentarily blinded and in shock.
