Lucario

I'm going to put the link at the top so that it's a bit more convenient for people now.                         https://www.smogon.com/dex/sm/pokemon/lucario/uu/

Ok, so it's been a while since I have played in UU. Sheez, I had better finish that UU team of mine slowly but kinda quick. Now that my stupid rambling is out of the way, let's focus on the regular form of Lucario, not the Mega form. If you want to see the chapter on it's Mega Evolution, go check it out, but I warn you, it's kind of long, but not as long as Deoxys's one:) Anyway, Lucario in it's base form is currently in UUBL, and has the great combo of Fighting/Steel! It got a buff in Meteor Mash recently in USUM as well! Since it can't use Lucarionite, it has to fall back on items that boost it's offensive power or help it in general. Lucario's bulk is not that great, so be sure to use it's offense as the best defense you have for it on it's own, but has some nice resistances. Let's get into it's weaknesses, when it comes to battling attributes.

Lucario is a Pokemon who can be a sweeper of either kind, but doesn't like Choice Scarfers such as Chandelure or Pokemon who naturally outspeed it and can knock it out. Examples include: Cobalion, Mega Aerodactyl, and Arcanine. Priority moves are also a big problem for Lucario in this tier, even when resisted or not, like Azumarill's Huge Power boosted Aqua Jet. Status ailments can cripple it, such as Paralysis or getting burned, so keep it away from those as much as possible, and Intimidate will lower it's attack, so keep on your toes at all times. There is some hope for it, as with the right team, thinking, and trainer + bond, Lucario can do a lot against the team!  However, it does have really nice coverage moves in Crunch or Earthquake, plus really powerful moves in the new move tutor Meteor Mash in USUM and Close Combat, and good priority moves! That's not all, as it's special moves are nothing to scoff at, including it's signature move Aura Sphere! Now, it's time to get into the movesets and what it can run to mitigate it's weaknesses to some extent.

Let's start off with the special set, and oh boy is this set quite alright, but it can't make good use of it's ability Justified, so try Inner Focus so you can't get flinched. The only special priority move it even gets is the move Vacuum Wave, but it'll do since it's STAB. He's got Aura Sphere, a move that will never miss, has a great base power that makes up for having less power than Focus Blast, and it gets 1.5 STAB on it, making it equal to a not STAB Focus Blast. Flash Cannon is good for fairies, but watch out - Mega Altaria could have set up a Dragon Dance! Dark Pulse can hit Ghost types, such as Doublade. Threats to this pokemon can be Kommo-o, who can have the ability Bulletproof.

There is always the off chance someone will bait you into trying to Aura Sphere with a Tricked Choice specs, but the chances of that happening are...not very probable. Setting up with a Nasty Plot on Pokemon who can't give you a status ailment or hit you at all is great, but remember Life Orb on this set can wear you down over time when attacking, as well as entry hazards - but spikes are the real problem, not t spikes or stealth rocks. I think this set can actually do some harm to a team, but it suffers from 4MSS, just like it's physical counterpart.  Blissey can take an unboosted Aura Sphere to the face, and could use Thunder Wave, so if you have the right conditions, just boost up to the max with Nasty Plot.

To wrap this up for the special set, let's talk about the Pokemon who can force it out or are just a threat to it in general. Scizor is a subjective check because of the many sets it can run, but only the offensive set can really put a dent in it with Superpower. Scyther's evolution, which Scyther itself probably hates because it doesn't like red doesn't appreciate an Aura Sphere to the face mainly because it is usually physically defensive. Moltres can come in reliably for an Aura Sphere and Flash Cannon, although the former it doesn't want to take when Roosting. Stealth Rocks, however, wreck it, putting the opponent in a sticky spot. Lucario itself can check it, but there can be a speed tie depending on the EVs and nature. Nidoking likes taking on Lucario, but doesn't like taking a Flash Cannon, but the chance of it being scarfed can kill Lucario or force it to end it's days of sweeping for now. Pokemon who are faster than it, like Cobalion or Beedrill also make Lucario's aura uneasy as they both have super effective moves they can use. Scarf Pokemon in general who have super effective moves are a good check to it, and so is Hydreigon provided you don't have Vacuum Wave. D Dance Mega Altaria and Kommo-o can scare out Lucario, but they might just take the predicted switch to use Dragon Dance again. lucario doesn't really like it here in UUBL, and oh man is it not in a good spot most of the time.

For the physical set, it's basically the same as Mega Lucario's potential moveset. It can have Stone Edge, Meteor Mash, Bullet Punch, Extreme Speed, Swords Dance, Close Combat, or even the uncommon Earthquake. I think that Lucario with this set is a bit better prepared for Pokemon here since it has Stone Edge for that Ho-oh Chicken wannabe. Well, I don't want to waste any of your time since it has some of the same problems as the special set like 4MSS or with status ailments, and it's basically like Mega Lucario except without the speed or mega stone. Checks to this Pokemon include physical tanks and Doublade since it walls Lucario without it having Crunch.

Lucario: 5.5/10 - It's got too many problems and thus isn't that good in my opinion. Sorry.
