Hello my loves! Have you ever read a fanfic that you thought was one version of a ship when it's actually the other? And you have trouble finding more fanfics for your ship since you constantly get confused? I have a couple of tips for that.

You see in most fandoms(mainly Hetalia as I don't usually see other fandoms do this) the order of the ship name is who tops and who bottoms, so that can be very useful when you want something specific. I know some of y'all are very picky about who tops. I mean I'm not picky picky, but I have preferences.

Let's use UkUs and UsUk as an example.

UsUk is America x England, aka US(America) x UK(England). When talking about in that order, that means that America tops and England bottoms, since America's name is in the front.

UkUs is England x America, aka UK(England) x US(America). Since y'all are smart y'all can guess what this means based on the context clues from the previous paragraph. Aka England tops and America bottoms since England's name is in front.

Another tip is to read the fanfiction and look at the POV. Usually the top is the POV in more smuttier writings, but I have seen writings from the bottoms POV.

Also do what I do sometimes. Skip to somewhere near the end of the story and read from when the penetration begins. I suggest you don't read from the beginning, because sometimes it'll look like one character is topping but then it switches up on you. I've seen a couple of fanfics from 2009-2012 do this.

If you're on Ao3, look at the tags! The tags usually reveal most of the story. Like sometime the tags will say [character] tops. That's the easiest way to check.

Maybe if you're lucky you'll find a community dedicated to your ship. I've found three on fanfiction.net. One for UkUs, one for RusAme, and one of bottom America. Or you'll find a big tag on Ao3.

I suggest you don't look on wattpad. It's honestly too hard to do wattpad doesn't have really specific tags, and sometimes a tag might have 10 stories - 400 stories. But you could look in oneshot books.

Or maybe you could start your own ship? Like popularize it. Some people have managed to do it. I have an example but it's not even related to Hetalia so...bye bye! Have a great time shipping!
