Here ye here ye as you hear me opinion.

Oneshot books are kinda boring.

I mean I know not everyone can keep up with updating a story and it's sometimes left unfinished and people who have been following the story now look for something more.

Oneshots.

Here are different types of oneshots I've seen.

•Ship Oneshots: made for shipping purposes, maybe has some smut and fluff

•Smut Oneshots: made for smut, which consists of yuri, yaoi, and hentai with a given theme like rape or bsdm

•Fluff oneshots: probably ship fluff or just fluffy stuff in general. Usually has no smut.

•The mixed oneshot: Has a little bit of each category. One chapter might have smut, the next fluff, or the next a ship. Literally probably just a spew of ideas

•Main character oneshots: Have a recurring character appearing as the main love interest, or the one that sees the love interest. Probably either the top or dom in smut, and idk about fluff. What I do know is that it has one main character and rest are off to the sides. Maybe two

Personally I think main character oneshots are quite boring if they have the same old pacing. Change it up a bit. For depressed oneshots, have the character commute die in the beginning and you branch off of that! And for ships, make them have an ESTABLISHED FRIENDSHIP. That's not how real life works. If you don't do this, it sounds like this:

1: oh hey look it's my crush I've barely talked to so we have basically no friendship and now I'm gonna go confess to senpai uwu.

2. Oh look it's that guy I barely talk to and I have a crush on. I wonder if they like me back... I know a date! OwO

*One date and a kiss later*

1: UwU I love you senpai

2. OwO I love you too...now let's have bAbIeS

See? I remember a oneshot I read on
DragonPrincess22 's oneshot book that honestly needs more attention, and like it was a sex slave au, and it showed America and Russia developing as friends and America basically having feeling for the stronk man and wanting to fuck him, and stronk dude wanting to treat meri as a human. It's very good! Go read it. Now.

Oh wait this was about boring oneshots. Oh yeah, basically change it up a bit! Have long chapters that are serious and have well developed characters, have short chapters that make your audience feel like you had a stroke. *remembers oneshot 4*

Anyways these were some tips because honestly I've read pretty good fanfics that weren't finished and are either:

• Probably gonna come back in a year or so

• Probably on break for a little while and will probably be back next month

• Probably will never be updated again.
