The LGBTQIA+ community
This was suggested by the lovely @wanderingchildo (great username btw).
My experience with my own sexuality has been a very frustrating and confusing one for the past three years. I've always known that I wasn't quite the same as my straight friends, but I couldn't figure out exactly what I was. Then I came onto Wattpad, where I suddenly had access to a wealth of information on the LGBTQIA+ community, and things started to make sense.
From my standpoint, I support the LGBTQIA+ community with all my heart. I'm still confused in my own sexuality, but very much consider myself a part of this community even though I haven't quite found the label that fits with me. It's such a warm, and welcoming place where I have learnt so much that isn't taught in mainstream education.
I find it incredibly saddening that members are still verbally and physically harassed daily, and hope that with more education about the LGBTQIA+ community, and more tolerance, things will start to look up.
My motto in life is always: just do you. We are all just people, orbiting the sun on this small planet, in one of an infinite amount of galaxies. I think we need to start realising that we're all in this together (blares high school musical) and we need to accept each other for who we are.
