Chapter One
Contrary to what some– mainly Taehyung– might say, Jimin can be very discreet when he wants to be.
He's capable of going unnoticed.
Of blending into the background or staying hidden in plain sight if the situation calls for it.
Although, said situations where this is necessary seldom arise.
Additionally it's difficult to be stealthy and subtle all of the time. Exhausting really.
(At least he assumes it is because he's never had to behave that way for long because, again, the situations hardly ever arise.)
Currently though... Currently Jimin finds himself smack dab in the middle of one of these situations and he has been handling it like a champ if he does say so himself.
Nearly two weeks it's been since he's started his mission and he has yet to be discovered by any of their friends.
Two weeks and no one has noticed a thing!
It's a personal best and he doesn't plan on getting caught any ti-
"What are you up to?"
Jimin startles at the sudden voice just over his shoulder.
His body tenses and his eyes widen in panic.
He hesitates to turn around, taking a few seconds to school his expression into something relaxed, innocent, before he turns around to face the owner of that voice.
"Right now?" He questions with a few bats of his lashes. "I'm just sitting here. What are you up to?"
The eyes peering at him are narrowed, the skepticism clear on his face and Jimin's heart begins to thump in quicker successions but he keeps his expression relaxed and mildly curious.
They continue to stare at each other, not saying a word.
They stay like that for so long that Jimin can feel a kink forming in his neck from the angle he is holding his head to stare over his shoulder and up slightly at his friend from his seated position.
Thankfully, or unthankfully, his friend begins taking steps towards him.
He walks to him, eyes only leaving Jimin as he looks down at the couch, eyeing the cushion next to Jimin before he takes a seat.
Jimin tilts his head in question and his friend sighs.
"You've been unusually observant of Yoongi-hyung lately. Specifically when he's around Kookie. I'm sure Kookie hasn't noticed, he's always much too distracted with trying to keep his busy mind occupied to pay attention to such subtle details.
"If hyung has he probably just hasn't cared enough to point it out, which I wouldn't and haven't ruled out as a theory, but you've been acting weird," his eyes narrow again, watching Jimin's face closely for a reaction.
Trying to spot a tell, if any, that he is on the right path with his theory.
"So again I ask, what are you up to?"
Jimin widens his eyes innocently. "I'm really not sure what y-"
"We've been friends for a long time, Chim. A long, long time," he pouts at Jimin with those big teddy bear eyes he knows his friend– his soulmate– struggles to resist. "Be honest."
"Tae," Jimin exhales, biting his lip, wanting to look away but finding himself unable to do so.
Taehyung holds his ground and Jimin can tell he knows he's going to win this. That he's going to get the answer he wants.
If not now than sometime in the near future whether Jimin likes it or not.
(For the record, he doesn't like it. Not one bit.)
Jimin knows his friend isn't going to let this go.
Knows that Taehyung isn't going to drop the subject.
"Fine." Jimin grumbles, donning a pout of his own as he folds his arms across his chest unhappily while Taehyung grins and adjusts his spot on the couch. Jimin doesn't need to look at his face to know how pleased his friend is that he's gotten his way.
With a huff, Jimin begins filling Taehyung in on Operation: Sugakookie.
