Role-Playing
Teresa gnawed on her lips and stopped it as soon as she realized her lipstick would wear off. She had pressed the button, and all she cared about was getting away from the suite room. Alexey Vozenilek had put up some music that was dreadfully slowly. Both of them twirled around like a bunch of tottering goose in the living room of the suite. It was massive. The interior of the suite looked expensive as hell. Silver ornaments and dark frames were decorating the place. It made all other suite rooms look poor compared to this.
Of course, this was Mr Alexey Vozinilek's room they were talking about in the first place. It was meant to be the grandest.
"So are you up for an upgrade in our movements?" Alexey asked, his hands gently holding hers in a dance.
The man had grace. She gave him that much.
"More like our view Alex," Teresa said with a curl of her lips.
"You're a curious woman, aren't you?"
No, I am bored to death. And scared to death.
Teresa's hair stood up in goosebumps when Vozenilek caressed her arm with his fingers. She felt odious. She couldn't keep it up any longer. Bile rose in her neck, but she managed to push it down. She had to make him show her the famous Schyaste. An idea struck her head. The man before her didn't look like a mastermind or tactful. She could start role-playing a bit.
"How valuable is the Schyaste anyways?" she said snidely.
The comment seemed to get to Vozenilek. His grip tightened on her wrist just slightly.
"It's a 17.5 carats. Bet you can not even think of affording it," he scoffed with arrogance.
You're unfortunately correct in that.
"Have you heard of the Pink Legacy?" she asked nonchalantly, dancing out of his grip and drifting away from him.
The Pink Legacy, by far, was the most expensive diamond at about 18.7 carats. It was a gorgeous piece. No one knew who inherited it.
The colour in Mr Vozenilek's face seemed to change.
"Yes. Of course. The Opprhenheimer have been boastful about it to me," he said bitterly.
Bingo.
"Heard of their daughter?" Teresa asked. She had no idea of any Opera family.
However, Vozenilek here seemed ready to tell her everything.
"Yes. She is a big biz. Has refused to meet me all the time,"
Teresa had hit her jackpot. She moved closer to him. The aura of the man disgusted her, and she found herself missing the lemony scent.
"Well why don't you show that big bitch your Schyaste and we can strike up a business partnership if that bitch likes it?"
"That big biz never meets any-"
You dumb old brat. Use that big stone in your head.
And so he did. His sea-blue eyes widened until they looked ready to pop out of his face. Hysteria swam upon his face. His lips hung agape.
"You're not... You can't be... Anna?" he asked in disbelief.
Teresa smirked.
"Hello Mr Alexey Vozenilek"
Vozenilek's face turned bright red, and he stepped away from her respectfully. Teresa didn't know who Anna was and hoped he didn't either.
"So- sorry for... for ahem... calling you names," he muttered.
"Shall we see that diamond now?" she urged.
She would just shoot him dead if he played around like a dupe any longer.
"Ye- yes sure"
Vozenilek quickly walked inside a room, and Teresa followed him after grabbing her purse quickly. The room turned out to be a big one with absolutely nothing in it except for a shelf. It had been wallpapered with a red embroidery carpet on all the walls. The tiled floor had a matching colour. Alex stumbled as he opened the shelf with a remote in it. She reached for her gun simultaneously. There was no trusting when it came to assholes. They were always cunning despite their behaviour. Underestimating anything was worse than overestimating it. She would not be killed that night.
However, when Alex pressed the only white button on the black remote, the wall in front of her split open like a door. Teresa's heart thudded in her ears. Before her, stood a beautiful and shining piece of red coloured diamond in a glass box. The glass box was placed on a high reaching stool. It was just a closet type room with no visible protection except the glass box. Teresa guessed it to be bulletproof by its thickness.
She pressed the button of the push-button remote in her purse and closed it quickly.
"What do you think of it?" Alexey asked as he walked behind her.
"Impressive. I might be able to come up with a deal with you-"
Her breath caught in her throat as she felt a metallic coldness at the back of her neck. Vozenilek's hand travelled smoothly to her waist and held her tightly there.
What just happened?
"Now that I showed you what you wanted, why don't we discuss who you really are. Hmm?"
Vozenilek's breath was warm in her ears. So much for role-playing.
"We just asserted our identities, didn't we? I am Anna. Take your hands and that gun off me," Teresa adjured.
Vozenilek walked before her with the gun still pointed at her. It hovered over her lips for a moment. Then he slowly dragged its point from her lips, the curve of her chin, down her neck and just above her cleavage. He glared at her dangerously. There was a craziness behind those awkward eyes now. A tremor ran down Teresa's spine.
"You're not Anna. Do your research woman. The Opprhenheimer heritage ended a long way back. It was bought by my family enemy The Agapov family. Now they had a daughter alright. She was the last person in the line of inheritance. Do you think we don't keep tabs on our enemies?"
Teresa gulped. She discreetly had unzipped her purse when he had put a gun at her neck. She slid her fingers at a painstakingly slow pace. However, Vozenilek went on.
"Her name was Anna Agapov. And I was the one who put a bullet through her heart right here," he sneered and applied pressure on Teresa's skin above her racing heart.
Vozenilek crept closer to Teresa. Their noses were touching, but Teresa did not take a step back. She had to be strong for herself.
"But do you know what I did before I killed her off?"
"No. And I don't care," Teresa retorted.
She cared very much though.
A genuine smile lit Alexey's face. He grabbed Teresa's flowing hair and pulled it back.
"I made her scream"

The second red beep from Teresa's controller went off. Seth put a mask over his face and wore his vest. A grim atmosphere had landed all of a sudden in the room they waited in. They were on the tenth floor of the Hotel. Ben had gone to get Karen, who was still in the hall. Teresa, on the other hand, was in room 1331 on the thirteenth floor. His insides hated the idea of her with someone else in a room.
"It's time. No mistakes," Jordan said.
With that, they stormed on their way to end their mission.
