The shades
Callie's POV ~
I forced my eyelids open. They were crusty and groggy. My vision was blurry, and I had a massive throbbing pain in the back of my head. I touched it, and pulled my hand back. In the dim firelight, I could see globs of pink blood. I then heard groaning as I turned around swiftly and saw Marie with me. She then touched the back of her head and barely saw globs of green ink. It suddenly occurred to me that the both of us have been struck in the back of the head, and knocked out.
I looked around, and took in my surroundings. A big great hall, with lots of unrealistic paintings of the octopus I hated most in the world. On some he was surrounded by Zapfish, and others, bulky and muscular, surrounded by mountains of gold.
Psh. As if.
It seemed like hours sitting in that cage, dangling over a damp stone floor. It smelled like salt, and mildew. I want to get out. I'm going to puke. The Marie and I do the one thing we do to calm us down. We sing.
We begin to hum the melody to Calamari Inkantation, our iconic song, hoping it'd bring Y/N here faster.
No luck. We hummed the words to ourselves what felt like years, getting sadder and sadder every time the song looped. Then we heard voices. I gripped the bars, and pressed my ears to the edge, hoping to hear who it was. Sure enough, One of the voices was Octavio, and I think another octarian.
"So? Give me the good news! Tell me they're ready!" That slimy, wretched voice could have only come from that one who calls himself a "king"
"Sir...The glasses...if we rush this anymore than we already have...it could cause them to forget more than we want them to" trembled a worried voice.
"Forget? Forget what?" Marie said as she came beside me and put one hand on the bars.
"All I need. Is for them to forget their pathetic pile of scrap metal "Y/N" and both their pasts. HOW HARD CAN THAT BE?!" Shouted the evil king.
Forget Y/N? No! That can't be!! We can't forget the one and only brother we both built and love so much!
I couldn't help myself. I tried to hold it in, but the tears just started coming. Marie then hugged me close to try and calm me down, but nothing is working and she started to sob as well from the idea of forgetting Y/N. With tears running down my face, I could barely see what was happening below me, but I could make out the outline of Octavio tying his fat arms around the neck of the doctor. She was choking.
I sniffed. I couldn't stand violence.
As my eyes cleared, I could start to see that he let the lady go. She was scrambling towards the door, papers flying from the folder she held.
Then the octo king turned to us
"You two are going to be my next great experiments."
