Louis just finished getting ready for his date with Harry . He sprayed his favourite sweet-scented perfume when he phone lit up with a text message .

Hi , love . Are you ready ?

Louis smiled down at his phone and quickly answered .

Yeah , just finished getting ready

Great , I'm coming over to get you xx

Louis replied with 'okay x' and shoved his phone into his pocket , looking at himself quickly in the mirror to make sure he's all set to go .

He walked out of his room and down the stairs , just in time for Harry to knock on the door . He wiped his sweaty palms on his jeans and opened the door , Harry smiled at him , "Hi Lou ."

Louis smiled back and let him in , blushing slightly deeper when Harry leaned in and pecked his lips quickly . "Ready to go ?"

Louis nodded before holding one finger up , as if saying to wait a second , before he went to the living room , where Geoff and Liam were sitting . The two turned to smile at him as he walked in , he pointed his thumb backwards to let them know he was leaving .

"Have fun , text us anytime if you need ." Geoff said , Louis smiled and waved at them , jumping in surprise when he felt Harry's arms wrap around him from behind , chin on his shoulder .

"All set ?" Harry asked , making Louis shy away with a smile as his breath tickled his ear , Louis nodded and let Harry walk them out of the house .

They got into Harry's car , Harry pulled into the road , "So . You like picnics , right ?" Harry asked , Louis nodded . Harry smiled , "Good . And you like the beach too , right ?"

Louis bit his lower lip to stop himself from chuckling as he nodded . Harry stopped at a red light and turned to smile at Louis , "Good . Now just do one plus one , and that's our date tonight ."

This time Louis couldn't hold his laughter back and let out a chuckle , Harry was such a nerd sometimes , but Louis liked it .

Harry turned the radio up and tapped his hand against the wheel to the beat of the song , taking Louis' hand and pretending it was a mic . Louis just laughed and let him be , he truly and honestly enjoyed Harry's silliness .

Soon they reached the beach , Harry parked the car and reached for the backseat , grabbing a blanket and a box full of fruit . He got out of the car with Louis following , holding Louis' hand with one hand , his other holding the blanket and box .

The sea was quiet and there was a light breeze , the sun was about to set . They found a spot , Harry deployed the blanket on the sand and smiled at Louis , who smiled back shyly . They sat down on the blanket , Harry brought Louis closer and kissed his cheek , "Want some fruit ?"

Louis nodded , Harry opened the box and placed it next to Louis , watching his delicate hand grabbing a grape and chewing on it with his lips in a tiny pout . Louis picked the box up and offered it to Harry , Harry smiled fondly and grabbed a melon , thanking Louis quietly .

Harry leaned on one arm , his other hand trailing gently from Louis' wrist to his elbow , then up to his bicep and shoulder , smiling slightly wider when Louis shifted away from the ticklish touch . He held his hand instead and brought his hand up to his lips , pressing a kiss to the back of it .

Louis felt confident for three seconds as he scooted closer to Harry and played with his fingers and rings , when he reminded himself he shouldn't fling himself all over Harry like he wanted to and to hold himself back .

Harry pressed a kiss to Louis' clothed shoulder that was closest to him , he brought one arm to wrap around Louis' waist and pull him even closer and press his lips to his cheek .

"I think kissing you became my new favourite thing ." Harry said with a smile , grinning wider when Louis blushed and turned his head away shyly to hide his smile . He nudged his nose into the crook of his neck , laughing softly when Louis giggled and pressed his shoulder to his ear .

"Turn around and give me a kiss ." Harry said , Louis turned to face him with his cheeks deep red with blush . Harry grinned and pressed a gentle kiss to his lips , "You're too cute ." He kissed him again , and again , and again , until Louis was giggling into the kisses .

Harry kissed his cheek and reached for the box of fruit , taking another melon for himself and feeding a grape to Louis , who smiled shyly and wiped the corner of Harry's lips where there was a drop of melon .

Louis took an apple for himself and turned to watch the sea , the sky just turned dark blue with the moon shining , the breeze was soft , the waves crashing on the shore quietly . The feeling of Harry's arm around his waist tightly made him shiver , and being pressed against him in general made him slightly nervous - Harry was making him nervous .

Harry absolutely enjoyed every second of being so close to Louis ; he loved that Louis opened up to him , even if it took a bit of time . He enjoyed being around him , enjoyed kissing him , enjoyed making him smile and laugh .

Harry shifted to lie on his back next to Louis , his hand now trailing up and down his back , rolling his eyes playfully when Louis squirmed under his touch . Louis was truly the cutest human being on earth . Harry brought his fingers to Louis' side , making Louis giggle and bat his hand away like a kitten .

Harry laughed along and grabbed his waist with both hands , bringing him to lie down next to him . He turned on his side and propped himself up on his elbow , smiling down at Louis , who was smiling back shyly with still red cheeks .

"I really love spending time with you ." Harry smiled , Louis smiled and nodded his head to say he enjoyed spending time with Harry aswell . Harry wrapped his free arm around Louis' stomach and leaned down to kiss him , leaning into Louis' hand that rested on his cheek .

Harry couldn't get enough of kissing Louis that it almost scared him , but he loved the feeling .

Louis enjoyed every second of kissing Harry , he was a bit worried about his inexperience with kissing but Harry made him feel slightly more confident . Harry radiated warmth , security , trust and hope . He couldn't get enough .

More kisses , tickles and cuddles later Harry took Louis back home . It was clear for both of them that they didn't want their date to end , but it was ten thirty at night and they were both tired .

Harry held Louis' hand on the way back home , Louis' slightly swollen lips had a smile permanent across them . The way Harry made him feel scared him but he quite loved it .

Harry looked over to Louis . "Are you thinking what I'm thinking ?"

Louis turned to face him , squeezing his hand for him to continue . Harry rubbed his thumb on the back of his hand , "I still don't want our date to end ."

Louis let out a small chuckle and nodded and squeezed Harry's hand again , making Harry smile . "Good . How about we go to the playground at the park for a bit ?" He asked , Louis laughed a little bit at his childishness but agreed , nodding his head .

Harry took the other turn , instead of entering their street he turned towards the park a few blocks away . He quickly found a parking spot , since it was late and pretty much no one was at the park . They got out of the car and walked hand in hand , when they saw the playground from afar Harry turned to Louis , "Race you to the slide ." He winked before taking off running .

Louis laughed and was quick to follow , his heart racing in his chest . He got to the ladder a split second before Harry , giggling when Harry wrapped his arms around Louis' waist and pulled him away from the ladder , placing him down and climbing up himself .

Louis shook his head and quickly followed , smiling at Harry who waited at the top . Harry gestured for Louis to go first , they crossed the swinging bridge with Harry purposefully shaking the chains , Louis ran towards the slide and slid down without waiting for Harry , before running away from him to the other ladder .

"Hey-what ! Wait for me !" Harry slid down the slide and ran to the ladder Louis was on , Louis climbed up the ladder quickly and ran across the bridges to the slide . He squeaked when he saw Harry finished climbing the ladder and quickly went down the slide , giggling as he ran to the other side of the playground to go on the other slide .

"When I catch you you're in for it !" Harry called behind him , he climbed up the ladder quickly and stuck his tongue at Harry from the top , laughing and running towards the closed slide . He slid down , squealing in surprise when Harry popped out of nowhere at the bottom of the slide .

"Gotcha !" Harry laughed and scooped Louis up and over his shoulder . He wrapped his arms around his thighs and spinned in circles , enjoying every giggle and laugh escaping Louis' lips .

Louis missed being a kid so so much ; because of what happened when he was eleven , he didn't get to properly be a kid and act like a kid . But Harry was bringing this side of him out , and he absolutely enjoyed every moment that it almost made him emotional .

Harry placed him down but kept his arms wrapped around him , kissing his cheek . "Want to go on the swing with me ?"

Louis nodded and walked with Harry towards the swings , they took the large circular nest swing where they could lie next to each other . They slowly calmed down , their racing hearts went back to their normal beats .

Louis had Harry's hand in both his own as he played with his fingers and rings , his mind drifting away thinking about this whole playground thing . He missed being a kid , feeling like a kid , having no worries and just having a laugh out of everything . He wished none of the things that happened to him would have happened , but it is what it is .

He bit his lower lip and tried forcing back his tears ; overthinking this made him tear up , he wanted to cry out what he was feeling inside , but he had to wait until he got home to his room . He didn't want to cry in front of Harry .

Harry soon realized something was uneven with Louis' breathing , he turned his head towards him and frowned , leaning on his elbow to look at him properly , "Love , what is it ?"

Louis shook his head and brought his hands to his eyes , rubbing them and sniffling . He pulled his phone out of his pocket and opened the notes .

just miss being a kid , thats it

Harry nodded and rubbed his thumb on his cheek . "Is it - .... is it because of - of what happened to you ?"

Louis bit his lower lip and nodded , before typing in again .

didnt really get to be a kid properly back then , just miss it s'all

Harry leaned in and pressed a few kisses to his cheek , his hand rubbing his side softly , "It's alright , Lou . I get it . I wish there was something I could've done ."

Louis shook his head and typed in his notes .

dont worry about it , having you with me now is perfect enough 

Harry smiled and kissed his lips tenderly , cupping his cheek . "Be my boyfriend ?"

Louis raised his eyebrows in surprise , his cheeks turning deep red with blush . Harry smiled at him and kissed him again , "Want to take your time to answer ?"

Louis shook his head no , then nodded his head yes , making Harry furrow his eyebrows in confusion . Louis chuckled and before he could overthink it , he typed in the notes and showed it to Harry .
