It was still grey. Every star was normal; bright and shining, but it wasn't.
She puzzled over it. Something told her it wasn't supposed to be dark. That she'd done something wrong.
But she had to go there. She didn't know why, but she had to. Every time she drifted away, she found herself drawn back to it.
But it wouldn't light up. No matter how hard she tried, or how long she waited as she floated in the black, it stayed grey.
It seemed like hours before she finally managed to float away, her cape billowing out behind her. She joined the stars again, and traveled, stopping as many bad things as she could; another robbery, a kidnapper, some weird people in hazmat suits about to inject something into someone who looked slightly familiar, a few young kids about to be run over, and other things.
When she came back to the rift after stopping someone from jumping off a cliff, she noticed the star had finally put up. With a grin, she darted over to it and wrapped herself around it, as if her life depended on it.
She arrived at her old house in her room. The alarm had been removed from its corner and the window was open. Curious, she stepped through the frame, only to find no one there.
Stalking across the middle of the roof, she watched to see if anyone was outside. Still, she couldn't find anyone. The moon was still high above her head, but somehow she could still see perfectly.
Suddenly she heard a creaking sound behind her. She quickly stepped down from her previous place and hopped onto Bailey's window sill, trying not to wake her up.
She didn't have to worry about that, however, since Bailey hopped onto the roof from the open window, carrying a blanket. Bailey spread it out on the angled shingles and looked up at the expanse of stars above her, the same way she had when she still lived here.
Something about watching Bailey sit there, gazing up at space brought tears to her eyes. For a reason she couldn't explain, every part of her wanted to leave. To let her sister explore the universe in piece, like she had.
As she tried to find a way to leave, a sound similar to rushing wind filled her ears. She tensed, recognizing the noise. Slowly she got up from her ledge and watched as a figure in black stalked towards her sister. In panic and rage, she dashed forward, cutting the person off.
Bailey must've heard her running across the roof, because she turned and gasped when she saw the two people having a face off against each other. She scrambled back, only to trip backwards towards the edge of the roof.
As quickly as she could, she turned around and grabbed Bailey's wrist, keeping her from tumbling over the side. She pulled her back up before turning to face the cloaked man, who said nothing, but chuckled. He turned and ran across the roof, jumping over the edge and falling. She followed behind, only to watch him vanish as he hit the ground.
Quickly she made her way back over to Bailey, who was sitting on her blanket, looking at her and shivering in fear. "Are you okay?" She asked her frightened sister.
" W-who? " was all Bailey could say.
She extended her hand, "Come on, let's go back inside."
Bailey took her hand as she grabbed her blanket . Wrapping it around her sister's shoulders, she led them back through the window, down the hall, and into Bailey's lilac colored room. Her hood kept her from seeing all the way up to the ceiling, but she knew that it was just pictures of whatever band or musical Bailey was into at the time.
"Why were you outside so early?" Bailey asked as she sat down on the bed.
" I could ask you the same thing, " she replied, crossing her arms over her chest.
"I just miss my sister is all. She used to go out all the time, so I didn't expect someone to try and... do something to me? I just didn't expect anyone to be there at all. "
"How do you know this didn't happen? It very well could have."
Bailey sighed, " I guess you're right. Thank you,by the way. "
"You're welcome."
" You didn't have to help. "
"I couldn't let them hurt you too. I did have to."
Bailey cocked her head, "You seem familiar. "
" People have said that before. "
"No, it's just, you sound and act just like... "
"Like Harper?" She asked, trying to hide her smile .
"You know her?"
" Yeah, I do. Let's just say she asked me to watch over you guys when she can't. "
"Really? That's sweet of her..." Bailey trailed off.
" Is there something wrong with that? "
"No, I just miss her."
" She misses you too. " she said, thinking back to last time, "Um, quick question; has Hayden told you about... uh, something?"
" 'Something?' Did he do something? "
"I'm not entirely sure. It's kind of confusing for me, but just, don't question him about it if he doesn't tell you. I may have imagined it. "
Suddenly the stars appeared again, but Bailey didn't seem to see them. "Wait, you never said who you were!"
She lifted her chin slightly, revealing her smile. With one hand she reached towards a star while the other went to her hood. She tossed it down to reveal her face for a split second before grabbing the star as Bailey's jaw dropped.

Harper jerked up with a start, the fragments of her dream fading away. She could barely grasp them as the dissipated into nothingness.
She leaned over and grabbed her phone to check the time, which was 6:27. She'd only slept 4 hours that night, and she set her phone back down with a groan. It was Saturday, and she wanted to sleep in.
A notification on her phone cleared away her disappointment and replaced it with curiosity. Slowly, Harper picked it up and realized it was a text from Bailey. Nervous, she opened it.
You up?
Yea.
Good.

I just have one question: at this point, if anyone in this story turned out to be evil, who do you think it would be? I just want to know what y'all think.
