Chapter 5

*** Your POV ***

The next morning I was down early again. Ukyo had insisted that I didn't need to help him for every meal, but I told him that I wanted to. It felt right, as though I was thanking them for letting me stay in their house.

Ema and Yuusuke came downstairs and I greeted them. They thanked me and Ukyo before tucking in. After we had all eaten, we walked to school. However, halfway to the train station, Yuusuke decided to speak up.

"Guys, I'm gonna walk on ahead. You guys walk a little slower... Bye." And with that, he walked off. I looked at Ema, who acted like nothing happened. She looked at me and smiled at my confusion.

"Don't worry about Yuusuke-kun. For some reason he doesn't want people to know that we're siblings. I was surprised he walked with us earlier; he's only ever walked with me once or twice before that." Looking back off in the direction where Yuusuke left, I nodded. If he didn't want to walk with us, that's ok. I just hope he's not lonely walking on his own.

Me and Ema arrived at the station soon enough, and in no time we were at school. Walking to our class, I sat down in what was now my seat. The thought made me happy.

Yuusuke walked in a minute later despite walking ahead. I smiled at him as he entered, and he nodded, before turning away. Sighing, I looked at the back of his head. I was trying to get along with him but he was just pushing me away. Maybe he needs time, I'll just wait for him to approach me.

Ema was talking to her apparent best friend who was standing next to her desk. I looked around to see everyone in their own conversations. It hit me in that moment that I hadn't made any friends. However, I assumed someone saw my lost gaze, as the friendly looking girl stood next to Ema called my name.

Looking at her confusedly, my focus flicked from her to Ema and back to her. She gestured for me to come over. Standing up, I walked over to them.

"Hey (Y/N). You looked pretty down.  I'm Ema's friend, Imai Mahoko." She beamed brightly and held her hand out to me. Resting my hand there, she shook it and I smiled.

"Nice to meet you, I hope we can be good friends." She nodded and replied with something along the lines of 'me too'. We talked for a while until the teacher entered. I went back to my seat and listened to the lesson that played through.

After school, I went with Ema as Yuusuke had already ran of without us. I guess he just doesn't like me very much but that can't be helped. We arrived back and Ema told me she was going to her room to play her game. I decided to go to the living room to see if anyone was there.

Leaving the elevator I found a man with long light blonde hair and a blue spotty jacket laying across the floor. Crouching next to him, I shook him gently and he stirred. He grunted slightly, before sitting up and looking at me, one hand sleepily holding up his head.

"Who... Are you?" He asked as he examined me in a kind of daze.

"I'm (y/n), who are you?" I replied as I didn't really know who he was.

"I'm Louis..." He replied, before gently taking a lock of my hair between his fingers. "You have beautiful hair.... Can I please... Style it sometime?" He asked.

"Of course!" I cheered, nodding. I loved it when people did stuff with my hair. I found it very relaxing.

Helping him up, I took him over to the couch where I sat him down. I offered to get him a cup of tea, but he shook his head and told me not to worry. I then sat down with him and we talked a little. He explained that he was really worn out and jet lagged from coming back from Fuuto's tour that he passed out on the ground. I laughed but told him not to overwork himself.

Suddenly, a boy I recognised as Asakura Fuuto burst in, looking around. When his eyes landed on Louis they lit up, but then they landed on me and they scowled.

"Who is she? You didn't tell me you had a girlfriend?" He continued to glare at me which made me uncomfortable.

"U-uh, no... Miwa-San adopted me, because I have no where to live. There's nothing between me and Louis!" I cried, waving my hands out in front of me embarrassedly. He tutted and rolled his eyes.

"Another stupid Onee-chan? Gimme a break. Louis, I need you to cut my hair because the hairdresser cancelled on me." He grunted before turning back around.

"I am not stupid!" I called after him and he chuckled.

"Sure you aren't. See you round, Onee-chan." And with that he left. Louis apologised for his brother's behaviour, and followed behind him after saying goodbye.

Leaving the room, I decided to find Ukyo so I could help him make dinner again.
