Notes on some Characters without forms (Victorian characters, part 1)

Lawrence Marshall

• Runs a shipment company (Marshall and Co.)

• He's quite two-faced. In the public he's sweet and helpful to society, behind closed doors he's aggressive and determined to the point of doing anything he can to achieve his set goals (yes, this can include murder)

• Beside his shipment company, he's the top dog of an illegal drug cartel, selling anything that's hallucinogenic

• He also tries to develop new drugs to make more money (because he's a greedy scumbag) and will have people kidnapped off the streets to test his drugs on. If they die, he has people rid of the bodies.

• Occasionally, he'll drug people whom he has a grudge against, or he's competitors with, so he can scare them and then make his way to the top easier to get through

• Very driven by greed

Tommie Hepburn Ashmore

• Grew up as a single child in a very poor household with his mother

• Is the bastard child of Victor, as his father had an affair with a poor woman (after his wife's death) who died of cholera when Tommie was about four years old

• He was left on the doorstep by someone Victor did not know and a face Tommie struggles to remember

• Victor, realizing who the boy was, had no choice but to allow him to stay with him and his daughter, where he was educated and later got into a university in Glasgow

• Asked to keep his original name in memory of his real parents

Lucille Ashmore

• Victor Ashmore's dead wife (died in childbirth)

• Before she died, she was a well-known actor around London, and he wealth is the reason why Victor is living so comfortably today for an Inspector at the time

• Lucille and Victor fell in love after the met thanks to a theft case, where Lucille's home was broken into and jewellry was stolen from her family. After the case was resolved, the two started meeting in secret for a while. (They were in their early twenties at this point)

Nora, Edgar and Victor Ashmore

• Three rascals when they were younger

• Nora was the voice of reason, when her elder brothers would start to disagree on things

• they grew up in a stable household, but weren't exactly wealthy

• drifted apart a little as they seperated, grew older and started their own families

Jaclyn Cantrelle

• Probably one of the coldest of the Cantrelles (takes after her father, Edgar)

• Was close to her Aunt Lucille, and when she died and left Naomi in her place, she grew a hatred toward the youngling, as she wanted Lucille around and not Naomi.

• Naomi and Jaclyn have a hatred for one another, and Naomi eventually gave up trying to be on good terms with Jaclyn

• Has trouble letting things go

• Not long after Lucille died, her mother Eloise was murdered, and this caused her to run away when the police said they couldn't solve the case and her family had become too mournful to solve the case themselves

• Before she left, Jaclyn and Naomi had a huge argument, and the last that was heard of Jaclyn was that she'd run off to America
