A couple of days later and it was Daisy's first day at school since that argument, (though she hadn't been going for long), which I was slightly dreading as Jen was the one who usually took her to school, (since I would have been at work already).

"Daisy Sweetheart, are you nearly ready for school?"
"No!, I can't get this stupid uniform on me right!"
"Do you want me to help Baby?"
"I don't know Daddy"
"I'm coming in Daisy"

The poor girl was tangled in her polo shirt, so I untangled her from it and then put on her correctly, though that's when I realised that Daisy was near tears, (and no matter the reason why she was near tears, it always broke my heart seeing her like that).

"Baby what's up?"
"Nothing"
"You know Sweetheart, if I didn't know any better, I would say that doesn't seem like the case"
"I'm sorry"
"Why are you sorry Baby?"
"I'm sorry that I can't do anything"

I gathered Daisy into my arms before I burst into tears, as that was the last thing that she needed that day, Daisy then burst into tears, (which I felt absolutely awful about), so I did what I thought was the right thing to do, which was to try and comfort her to the best of my abilities.

"Honey we all have days that we feel like we can't do anything, but you can do anything that you want to do Sweetheart"

The next 5 minutes were spent muttering reassurances before I decided that school could wait for a day or two, (I don't know why it took 5 minutes for me to realise this), as her well-being was my top priority here, ya know.

"Tell you what Sweetheart, how about you and I stay home today"
"But what about school Daddy?"
"School can wait, come on, we'll have a movie day"
"In our jammies?"
"Yeah Baby, in our jammies"

So we did just that, sure, Disney Princess movies aren't really my forté, but it made Daisy happy, which she hadn't been since her Mum left, so of course I watched some Disney Princess movies, and even though it wasn't my forté, I did enjoy it as it was time spent with my little girl.

I know that big problems can't be solved with watching Disney Princess movies, (though that would make life so much easier than it is), but it wasn't fair that Daisy already knew that people can be the worst, I mean she was just a baby, (not like an actual baby but honestly 5 isn't that far from it).

It was a couple of hours after we started the movie marathon, and that was when I noticed that Daisy had fallen asleep again, so I woke her up, because I knew that she wouldn't have slept that night if I didn't wake her up right then, (and she needed all the sleep that she could get).

"Hey Baby, I know that you're tired, but you won't sleep tonight if you sleep now"
"But 'm tired Daddy"
"I know Darling, I know, (kisses temple), do you want to continue with the movie?"
"Yes please"
"Ok Baby"

So we continued with watching the movie, was it the right thing to do right then?, I'm still not entirely sure about that, and Daisy's a very independent adult now, but I think that she needed a breather from life and this movie marathon of Disney Princesses was that.

By the time that the third movie was done, it was lunch time, so I got up from the couch to make us both some lunch as that seemed like the best course of action here, so I made myself some lunch, (I did make Daisy some lunch, but I knew that she wouldn't touch it really), I came back to find Daisy almost asleep again, which was a telltale sign that she was wreak tired, (though she wasn't sleeping too well even before her Mum left as she had been getting the worst nightmares that she's ever had).

"Daddy"
"Yeah Baby"
"Can I ask you something?"
"Of course you can Sweetheart"
"What was I like as a baby?"

It was not a question that I was prepared for, but it wasn't a hard question to answer, it just threw me a little bit, (though I guess it shouldn't have), so I sat back down on the couch and hugged Daisy as that just felt right to me.

"Well Darling, you were a cuddly baby"
"Really?"
"You were, I used to hold you while I was marking as that was the only way that you would sleep"
"'M sorry about that"
"You don't need to be sorry Baby, it's part of the job description"
