My Day at the Beach
[364 words]
When I raised the lock without a sound, I swore. The hot breeze hit my skin like a banshee. The sun radiated from the sky to give me his horrible heat. Before, I would enjoy its rays but now, there were only an hindrance to our skin.
Step by step, I walked on the sand sweating too much in this disertic environment. Sadly, I couldn't touched the beautiful sand. Too hot. Too precious. Too deadful.
After the proclamation of their reign, the monsters' reign, 80% of humans were dead and the rest were hidden in undergrounds impossible for them to enter. We did pretty well by doing those cages in steel. They couldn't perceid it with their hands... They've got an human appearance but have the mind of a robot. Programmed to kill the others. To kill us, humans.
I was looking at sediments that encercled me. A rusty sand that lost his beautiful color. Now lot of dejection were sleeping on it, like covering these little cristal. I deeply sighed before hearing a sound on my left.
On alert, I raised my gun and searched for the source of this creak sound. But by doint that, I saw that the sun wasn't there anymore. My heart beats rapidly at this thought.
Monsters could come. Monsters will come.
Those creatures from the dark began killing one by one those who lived under the sun. They were like these monsters under the bed. But those one were created by humans...
The scientists wanted humans that live by night and with luck that never slept... And they created them. A new species more capable of killing than live with each other properly.
Afraid, I took a step back but before I could run to the center of the earth where the rest of us were living, an arm pearced my heart from the back. I opened my eyes under the pain and surprise.
Monsters got me.
But for a reason I was smiling to the scene in front of me. The beach. The water. The air.
In the end, my last day on Earth was in the beach that I loved. A good day wasn't it ?
