Hauntings and more

To much delight, nightmares are the worst.

One moment a young man is living a fantasy, but the next is pain and misery. The scene is painted in bright colors. Not the ones you would see as if you were in a candy store. But rather eye blinding colors. Boiling at each glance, even their own skin is painful to bear. The only thing that wasn't a pain to look at was the people. Three strange people misted in a black, only showing some sort of silhouette. Black like a void, no escape. Except with each step they took, there was a feeling of maliciousness. A feeling that they weren't here to make friends.

"Where am I?!" Said the young man.

It was frightening for him. Not much they could say before he noticed . He could hear the people snickering at him. They are going to enjoy this. The young man took a step back before he could feel something grab a hold onto him. Black chains grappling him, dragging him away. Forced to run to one place or to another. The pain of being dragged like a doll. He couldn't do anything, he couldn't even fly, his wings were gone. Soon even his little feet couldn't keep up. Soon they became bruised at the same length as his wrist.

"Please stop! Please!" He screamed out in pain. Huge tears blurring his vision as they couldn't stop rolling down their face.

At that moment, he was stopped. He sat there while trying to breathe. Deep gasps filled the air. One of the three figures gave a sound of dislike while the other two just turned and left the room. The remaining figure stood there, as if it was judging him. The young man just stared back with the heaving of his breath. There were no words to express, it was as if they both knew the results of any outcome.

Soon enough, the other two people came in with a cart. It was hard to see after the tears and the blinding colors but it was clear that they were objects that could hurt him. Toys in the eyes of the three strangers.

He felt thE arms of one wrap around him, picking him up to only be thrown onto some sort of table. It was cold on the contact of his skin. He looked at the three strangers, two of them chaining him down to the table. He tried to struggle but it was hopeless.

He closed his eyes and began to struggle against the chain. He didn't notice each figure was holding something. Like weapons in the same form of their silhouettes. One step, two steps, three steps it's all that took.

Panic raised in the young man. Their toys inches closer to his skin. Cold metal or so he could presume touching him. He looked at them before he squinted his eyes in pain.

He screamed out loud, the pain burning. He squirmed as his vision turned blurred as the pain continued. He could hear their laughs echo along his screams. The strangers were no longer just their silhouette anymore but colored in pink. The pink that oozes from the man's own body. Each cut going deeper. He turned his head away as he laid limpless. He could feel himself lose consciousness, but before he could. A hand grabbed his face firmly. It forced him to look at the sight of his own blood. One of the strangers raised their toys at his chest. The young man's eyes wided, everything seemed to slow down. As it impacted into his chest, his world flashed before his eyes. He could see all his memories in some sort of web. Show each precious moment of his life, with his family, and friends. Even the moments with Jyles.

Jyles...

...

Then he opened his eyes with full panic. He gasped rapidly trying to understand what happened. He was back in his room, the pieces slowly came together. He looked out the window, it was still dark. He clutched his chest. Remembering the pain and the nightmare. He softly breathed shakely.

"It was only a dream..." he managed to only mutter.

He got out of his bed slowly to get even the thought of the dream haunted him. He needs something to drink. So off he went.

After he reached the kitchen his mind was left to wonder. He told himself before, to never think of those dark thoughts again but they just creeped up to him. So he was left to wonder until the sound of a certain jester boy appeared.

"Bryannnnnnnn!" Said Jyles with the same mischief tone he had always had.

"Oh, hey Jyles..." Bryan said, trying his best to keep his cheerful tone.

As if Jyles was in Bryan's head before he came, his face completely changed.

"A-are you alright?" Jyles asked as he pulled a chair.

"What do you ever ask?"

"Bryan, I know you and I know when something is wrong. So don't even try to hide it~" Jyles said with his playful tone slightly returning at the end.

"... I had a nightmare..." Bryan's head hung low.

"So some silly dream has you worried?" Jyles said as he found the fruit at the table rather interesting.

"Yeah... silly right?" Bryan said after he cracked a sad smile. "Nightmares, still scare me like a child."

"You know, I originally came here to steal some food from you, but you can vent if you want." Jyles said as he got up to pocket some things in the kitchen.

"No, it's fine Jyles. I won't bore you with my stupid vents."

"Bryan, nothing about you is stupid." Jyles said before pausing. "Well maybe that you are stupid, but your problems are not. So tell me if you want or don't. It's up to you."

Bryan stayed quiet as Jyles stood next to the exit.

"Well goodb-"

"Thank you Jyles," Bryan said as soft tears went down his face.

"For what? I did nothing of the sort," Jyles asked with a mixed of mocking and confusion.

"For being my friend, my best friend." with the tears still being there.

"Sure, sure, sure. Now stop crying, you look ugly when you cry." He said as he left the kitchen.

This is weird.

He's reliving a memory. He looks around to see the sight of people dancing, eating, playing games and enjoying themselves. It was his birthday party. The one Jyles threw for him. The one that ended in disaster-

Disaster! Where is Jyles?!

"AHHHHHHH"

Bryan turned to the lake to see the kraken, and people panicking. He looked around to spot Jyles but he already knew where he was. It felt like his world was crumbling.

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no! The panic only raised in him. Anything but this memory! He felt his body run on its own to find Jyles, even if he knew where he was. He tried to force himself to move towards the lake's shore! He desperately screamed at himself.

Sooner or later, he started to move. He spotted Jyles in the water slowly being drowned. He could feel himself reach his hand towards Jyles. He knew how this ended but he couldn't help to feel terrified.

He soon got up and screamed for help. He looked around to see people running still, so he soon jumped in the water despite hating it. All to save Jyles. Then everything turned white as he reached Jyles.

... and voices in his head began to talk

'YOU FAILED TO SAVE HIM! USELESS TO PROTECT YOUR BEST FRIEND. WHY DO YOU EVEN CALL HIM YOUR BEST FRIEND?!? YOU'RE THE ONE WHO BETRAYED HIM.HE SHOULD HAVE LEFT YOU A LONG TIME AGO-'

Cracks like glass and the voices stopped.

'Help him, be there for him. Do your best to protect him. Make amends for what you did to him.' that was the last and the final voice said.

...

They laid Jyles away from Bryan. Bryan lay down trapped by chains and Jyles standing as if he was fighting. Everything around them was on fire, the blinding colors were back and the figures were standing there next to Jyles. The same figures with their smiles.

"No..." Bryan barely managed to say. His voice sounded shaky and desperate. Tears welled up in his eyes.

Jyles stood facing his back away from the figures, and with a smile on his face no doubt. Why does he smile like that?! He's going to be killed!! And no matter how much Bryan struggled to help Jyles, there was no hope.

Within a sec, Jyles was stabbed. Bryan screamed out of pain. Not his best friend! Anything but him! They could have killed him instead, that would be so much better than seeing Jyles over there on the ground! Tears flooded his vision before he woke up.

When he woke up there was a scream from him. His mind racing, he needed to find Jyles. Just to make sure that he was alright. Even though it was just a nightmare, it felt so real. Like damn hell it shook him to the bone, to the point he wanted to scream out loud at the memory.

After a while of running around the camp trying to find Jyles like a mad man. He finally did. He was in the main dining hall with a few of the other campers. But he couldn't care for the world. His first instinct was to run up to jyles and give him a huge hug. Everyone was to say a little surprised, even Jyles. Though Bryan continues to hug Jyles, afraid to let go.

"B-bryan, he can't breathe," A certain Water prince of the east sea said.

Bryan hesitantly took a step back, giving Jyles a chance to breathe.

"Dear gods Bryan, what has gotten into you-" Jyles said before getting cut off.

"I thought I lost you!" Bryan screamed out loud, unaware of the tears.

"Why would you ever lose me? You're stuck with me, you donkey" Jyles insulted him but he really did mean his words. Why would he ever leave?

"B-but I got so scared of my nightmare- you were there, and it was the party, then there were these voices-" Bryan tried to refute.

"Ok I get it, you can vent but first stop crying. You look ugly when you cry." Jyles said, taking a step back.

Bryan inched closer feeling like a child when he and Jyles would fight but making up at the end.

Bryan just went to hug Jyles again but luckily for Jyles, he managed to dodge. They ran around the room as Bryan cried like a little kid with playfulness and Jyles screaming at Bryan. None to say, it was quite a sight to see. Maybe these nightmares were scary, a reflection of their thoughts. But it was just dreams, not the future.
