Edward's Pheasant

This is for Bubbly-Wolf 's project about raising awareness for endangered animals. I got the letter E! Apparently there aren't very many animals that begin with the letter E that are also endangered. I mean there's elephants, but everyone knows about elephants.
So here's a male Edward's pheasant (females aren't quite as pretty). They're critically endangered as of 2012 (although some sources have them listed as endangered, but these sources don't have it dated, so...). Unfortunately, the main cause of this is the fact that these birds are loosing much of their native habitat to development, agriculture, and the herbicides that came with the Vietnam War. However, they are doing very well in captivity, and there are conservation programs in place. These birds live in the rainforests of Vietnam, living off of a herbivorous diet of seeds, buds and berries. Males have dark glossy plumage, with a blue and green sheen and a small white crest, while females are cloaked in warmly-tinted greys and browns. Both sexes have red legs and skin surrounding the face.

I think that's all the necessary info.
