The lights displayed throughout the gymnasium and smooth music reverberated. The atmosphere he made it be was heavenly and surreal. Usually, I'm so stressed when I'm here, but at this moment, he made it feel like it was us, and us only. Only us in this room, only us at this dance, only us in the world.

Us against the world.

He smiled down at me and brushed the hair out of my face. It was the perfect song. His hands were placed around my waist, while every other couple's hands were placed lower. It was perfect. I knew this would last forever.

"I love you so much," I was attached to his eyes and my arms were placed around his neck. I laid my head on his shoulder, and he kissed my head. A tear escaped my eye, happiness filled the air and the song emitted with hope.

"I hope this never ends."

"It won't, I'll always be with you."

"I love your suit by the way," I laughed a little, and he smiled looking down. "it's charming."

"You look absolutely gorgeous," he eyed my dress, and I laughed.

"Jeff Atkins!" I grinned and gently hit his chest.

"What? It looks good!" he chuckled, raising his arms in defense.

"Did Bryce bother you today?" I shook my head.

"Good." he kissed my cheek and I pulled him in for a kiss. "I'll always be here to protect you. Only you."
