~Alex POV~

As we passed around our gifts, I leaned on Thomas' shoulder. We werent exactly a thing. Just a very close friendship. At least, thats how I wanted to put it for now.

"Alex, this one's for you...oh! and Thomas this one is for you," Peggy said while handing me a gift. I could barely see her face from behind the stack of gifts in her hands. She looked like she was about to drop all of them.

"Thanks Pegs," I said, taking the gift. "Need any help?"

"Nope!" she said cheerfully and walked slowly to the next person.

I chuckled at Peggy's balancing act and placed the gift on the small stack next to me. James and I had never properly celebrated Christmas before we had came to America. There was never enough time or money to.

"Excited?" Thomas asked me. I nodded. "Well, I'm excited to give you your gift."

"So am I!" I exclaimed, jumping a little in my seat.

"Is everyone ready to open gifts?" John asked everyone, the excitement clearly showing on his face. Cheers and nods came from everyone.

Soon, the sound of tearing wrapping paper and happy screams filled the room. I laughed a little to myself, listening to my friends' laughter. I didnt realize it before but I had missed them.

I reached over to my stack of gifts and grabbed the first one I saw. It was a small, rectangular gift with little snowmen on the paper.

To: Alex
From: Angie

I tore the paper off relishing the sound of the paper. I gasped a little when I felt the surface of my present. I ripped off the rest of the wrapping paper and smiled. It was a little notebook. I set it down next to me and pulled the next gift on my lap.

To: Lex
From: James (ham)

I weighed the gift. It was a little heavy. I found a fold in the wrapping paper and tore it off. I grinned as I uncovered it.

It was a framed picture of me, James, mom, and dad. We were standing at a beach, grins plastered onto our faces, looking like we were having the time of our lives. I remembered the day we took that picture. We had decided to go to the beach as a family for a day. As I examined the picture, I heard Thomas laugh next to me.

"Peggy, how did you know?" He said and pointed to the present on his lap. I looked over and saw a few boxes of macaroni and a small bottle of magenta food dye. (i dont think they have magenta food dye but oh well)

Peggy spun around from her spot to see who called her name. She glanced at the gift in Thomas' lap and grinned.

"It's so you can dye your favorite food your favorite color," she laughed. I snorted and covered my face.

~Time skip to when theyre all done and leaving cause im lazy~

As I waved Laf and Herc goodbye I sighed and closed the door. Turning around, I groaned at the mess that was left behind. I would ignore it for now.

I made my way to the couch where Thomas was sitting. James had fallen asleep already. He had never been a late sleeper. Lucy and Adrienne had left town to visit their families over the holidays.

As I flopped down next to Thomas, he handed me a present. It was thin and rectangular but when I accepted it, it was heavier than it looked.

"Oh! I have your gift too!" I said and grabbed his gift and then handed it to him.

"Ok let's open them at the same time," Thomas said.

"1, 2, 3!"

We ripped off the wrapping of our gifts together. I gasped at what I had received.

It was a laptop but not any normal one. I traced my finger on the little dent at the top of the laptop. It was still the same.

I grinned as I opened it up, letting it power on.

This was the laptop that had gotten me through college. It held all my old files and projects. I rubbed the back as I turned to see Thomas' reaction to my present.

"Like it?" I whispered to him.

I had given him a framed picture of us. Before I my graduation. We had looked so smitten with each other.

"That was the picture that I took with me when I had to leave," I said, remembering the moment that I had found it in my coat pocket.

The picture had many creases and folds in it. It was soft and worn down but I still thought it was perfect.

"I always looked at that picture. Every day," I mentioned.

"I love it," Thomas whispered and grinned at me. "How do you like your present? I found it while going through some stuff a few months ago."

"I love it!!" I said and turned back to the screen. I entered in my password which i surprisingly remembered.

All my old files and pictures popped up. A warm feeling spread throught me as I grinned. This laptop meant a lot to me.

"Thanks Thomas," I said and hugged him tightly.

"Merry Christmas Alex."

"Merry Christmas Thomas."
