~James (ham) POV~

I watched in amazement as Alex blinked rapidly. He hasnt done that in 3 years. I felt tears come to my eyes as his eyes slowly opened and instead of looking at everything blankly, he studied the room around him.

I heard Lucy gasp and I ran over to the bed. To give me room, Thomas stepped away from the bed, causing him to lose contact with my brother.

Suddenly, the life was drained from Alex's eyes and he returned to the lifeless stare.

I stopped in my tracks and then I remembered. Alex and Thomas were soulmates. Maybe that had something to do with Alex's state.

"Thomas, go over to Alex again," John whispered from behind me. Thomas shuffled over to the bed and placed his hand on Alex's arm again.

Once again, a spark was ignited in Alex eyes. He looked around tapidly and locked eyes with me.

"J-James?" he whispered in a raspy voice that he hasnt used in a few years.

I tackled my brother with a hug and Lucy and Adrienne did the same thing. Everyone else had big smiles on their faces.

As we tangled ourselves from one another, Alex noticed that his old friends were also in the room with us. His eyes widened when he realized that Thomas was touching him.

He began to pull his hand away but I stopped him.

"Whats going on?" his said in a faint voice.

I sat next to him and began to explain everything.

When I finished, everyone stood quietly while we were watching Alex process what I jad just told him.

"So... I died and then dad brought me back? and i've just been lying here for 3 years?" he asked in disbelief. I nodded. "And now im back because of Thomas?" I nodded again.

He looked up at Thomas then he looked around at the people he hasnt talked to in 4 years. We all talked together for a few minutes. Getting to know each other and stuff like that.

Suddenly, I heard a voice from my ear piece.

"Lee escaped. He's heading for the ocean. We need you three to catch him again."

I sighed and put two fingers to my ear.

"On it."

I saw Herc and Angelica look at me in confusion.

"What?" Thomas said.

"We have ear pieces in our ears," Adrinne explained and tapped her ear.

"You guys still have Lee?" Alex asked and I nodded. I guess that he still got the same messages as us.

"We have to go! He's getting farther and I want to be back by dinner! I think we're having steak tonight!" Lucy shouted excitedly from the doorway. She montioned for me and Adrienne to hurry up.

I jumped up from the bed and walked towards the door.

"You guys can go exploring and stuff just dont touch anything that looks important," I told everyone and ran out of the door following the other two.

~Thomas POV~

As soon as James (Ham) ran out, Laf and Herc looked excitely at each other and ran out too.

The Schuylers, Sammy, and Maria walked out after them too, leaving me John, Jemmy, and Alex.

I realized that I still had my hand on Alex arm but I couldnt pull away. I thought about how he had looked when he was lying in his bed with his lifeless eyes.

"So...how are you guys?" Alex asked akwardly and gave all three of a us a small smile.

"Well, all three of us are soulmates," John explained and waited for Alex reaction. He nodded and smiled as if he already knew.

"I'm happy for you guys. You all look great together," he said cheerfully but I also sensed a feeling of sadness from him.

"I-I'm sorry for what happened 4 years ago," I whispered and squeezed his arm. James and John both nodded and walked closer to the bed.

"Its alright. I knew what was gonna happen."

"But how did you deal with the color madness?" Jemmy asked curiously.

"I had some medications and stuff. They work most of the time," He explained. The four of us talked a little more before John and James decided to give me and Alex some time togther.

He made some space on his bed and I sat down next to him.

"Alex, I just wanted to apologize again. I should've tried to contact you agin after that day. I-" I began to say but was cut off by Alex.

"It fine. I knew what was going to happen. Besides, you found James and John. I couldnt be happier for you!" He said with a small and sad smile.

"But how about you? You- you dont have another soulmate and I cant even imagine what it was like for you to leave everyone. I-I just feel so guilty and-" I was cut of by Alex again. I could feel tears welling up in my eyes.

"You're right. I dont have another soulmate but I'm fine. Dont worry about me."

We sat in a comfortable silence for a few minutes. I could feel tears streaming down my cheeks but I didnt feel like wiping them away. Then I realized something. My world was black, white, and grey. That meant that Alex wasnt my soulmate anymore.

But what if...

"A-Alex?" I stuttered.

"Hm?" he hummed softly. I think he was falling asleep.

"D-Do you s-see, uh, the c-colors?" I asked him. Alex stared at the ceiling, biting his lip. "Alex?"

A few seconds went by before he replied.

"Yes,"
