Chris pov

Panic sets in as I begin shaking Ava, there's no response. I turn the shower to cold and gather some water in my hand's splashing her face, nothing was working.

I lifted her up wrapping a towel around us and rush into the bedroom with her. At least she was still breathing, I could see her chest rise and fall.

Maybe she got too hot.

I sat on the bed cradling Ava in my arms until she came back around. Nothing like this had ever happened before.

We sit in silence for a while not knowing what to say to each other.

After a while and some convincing Ava agreed to let me get her checked out by my family doctor.

Doctor Brown had always dealt with our family and would make house calls on occasion.

I grab Ava some pyjamas and help her get into bed as I hear a knock at the door, it must be Doctor Brown.

I let him in and show him to the bedroom where Ava was.

He set down his medical bag and asked her a few questions before checking her out.

I sit at the end of the bed giving Ava a reassuring smile that everything will be ok.

"Anything like this happened before?" Doctor Brown asks.

"Nope, this is the first time i've ever blacked out."

"Any medical history I should know about?"

Ava shakes her head.

"Any chance of Pregnancy?"

Ava looks at me and I look at Doctor Brown.

"We were trying for a baby a couple of months ago but weren't having much luck, we haven't been trying but we haven't been careful either..." I explain.

Doctor Brown nods and hands Ava a pregnancy test as she disappears into the bathroom.

"You think she could be pregnant Doc?" I ask.

"There's no other reason as to why she would collapse in the shower. Women who are pregnant shouldn't take steamy showers of baths due to the risk of overheating which could be what's happened"

Chris nods understanding as he waits on Ava's return.

Appearing from the bathroom Ava hands Doctor Brown the test which was back in the original packaging.

"The test should roughly take around 3 minutes to give a result, excuse me whilst I call my office and push back some appointments". Doctor Brown leaves the bedroom to make his call.

"How you feeling sweetie?" I ask.

"I feel better now just a headache but other than that i'm good" Ava answers as she climbs back into bed.

"Doctor Brown was explaining that if you were pregnant the steam from the shower could have caused you to overheat and collapse"

"We haven't had any luck in months, it would be our luck that I get pregnant right before you go away for 4 months to film" Ava jokes.

Doctor Brown comes back into the room removing the pregnancy test from the packaging and looks at you both.

"Congratulations..."

It felt like my whole world stopped as Doctor Brown spoke. This is all we've ever wanted, to start a family together and our dream is finally becoming a reality.

I look at Ava who's in complete shock with tears rolling down her face.

"I'll give you both some time alone, Chris call my office for a follow up appointment. Again, congratulations". Doctor Brown lets himself out, I pull Ava into a tight hug as she sobs against my shoulder, tears fall down my cheeks as I realise we're going to have our own little family.

I place my hand on Ava's tummy softly stroking as she watches on.

"We're having a baby" she whispers as she places her hand over mine.
