Light, Misa, and you all arrived at the room L had directed you to.

L walked in with handcuffs in hand. He notices your smirk as you look at the handcuffs.

You were about to open your mouth to speak, but L shook his head. He already guessed that you were about to make an "unnecessary" comment on them.

L approaches Light and chains his hand with his own using the handcuff.

"Are these necessary, Ryuzaki?" Light asked while looking at the handcuffs.

"This is as difficult for me as it is for you." L sighs

"Is this what you meant by being together 24 hours a day with him? Looking at you, I never would have guessed... Are you on that side of the fence, Ryuzaki? " Misa asked.

"What if he was? What if Light and Ryuzaki became a couple? How would you react?" you asked Misa, awaiting a reaction.

You ignored the glares being sent to you by Light and L

"Ah! Don't say that! " Misa shakes her head frantically.

"I'm just asking because I'd like to know. Please answer the question "you asked in a polite tone.

"I'd die!" Misa shouted

"No, you would accept it and find a better man!" You encouraged Misa.

"You can still appreciate Light from afar, but wouldn't you be happy if he's happy?" You asked Misa

"Well-" Misa was about to try to argue.

"Anyways, that's just some food for thought. Keep in mind what YOU want, not what everyone around you, like Light, wants." You look at Misa meaningfully.

"Going back to the question Misa asked, care to answer? Are you on that side of the fence, Ryuzaki? " You ask with a smirk.

"I already told you, I'm not doing this because I want to," L responds.

"Light belongs to me! I don't want to share him with you! If you're with him 24/7, then how are we supposed to go on a date together?" Misa questioned L.

I guess she still didn't listen

"You can still go on dates, it will just be the four of us," L mumbled.

"Are you telling me we have to kiss in front of you and stuff?" Misa asked in disbelief

"I'm not telling you to do anything, but yes, I suppose I would be watching." L responded

"Ew, gross! You really are a pervert, aren't you? " Misa complained

"Light, please make Misa stop talking now," L said in a monotone voice.

"Listen Misa, that's enough. The police have already established that it was you who sent those tapes. You're lucky to be here right now. " Light told Misa firmly

"How can you even say that, Light! In case you've forgotten... I'm your girlfriend! Don't you trust your own soulmate? " Misa asked sadly.

"Uh what do you mean, soulmate?"

Light told Misa, "You're the one who said you fell in love with me at first sight."

"So why would you kiss me if you didn't have feelings for me? You took advantage of me? " Misa's eyes started to water.

"About this love at first sight, it happened at Aoyama on May 22, right?" L interrogated Misa.

Misa's eyes stopped watering

"So what?" Misa asked with an attitude

"Why did you choose that day to go to Aoyama, and do you remember what you wore ?" L inquired more forcefully.

"It's like I told you, I just happened to go there... I don't remember why, I don't even remember what I was wearing. Anyways, since when did I need a reason to hang out in Aoyama, huh? " Misa started walking towards L.

"And somehow, when you came back from Aoyama, you knew you were in love with some guy and that his name was Light," L asked, amused.

"Yes," Misa nodded.

"And yet you have no idea how you got to know his name," L asked, looking for a reaction.

"So tell me, what if Light was Kira? How would it make you feel? " L asked Misa

Misa puts her face in L's face

"You guys are so close you look like you're about to kiss. My heart aches." You say, dramatically clutching your chest.

They both ignore you.

Rude

You look over at Light, who has been staring at you. You stare back at him. Light was the first to break eye contact, while Misa grabbed onto Light's hand.

"If Light were Kira? That'd be wonderful... I mean, I've always been grateful to Kira for punishing the men who murdered my parents. So if I found out that Light was actually Kira, that would be like a bonus for me! " Misa said, looking at Light lovingly.

You grab Misa off of Light.

"Misa, don't do that. Remember what I just said." You scold Misa.

Misa looked like she hesitated, but then spoke.

"But I love Light!" Misa exclaimed loudly.

She's already keeping in mind what I said. I noticed she hesitated. I won't push it for now then.

"What about you, N/n?" How would you feel if Light was Kira? " "L asked you.

Is he really doing this right now?

You looked shocked, so did everyone else. Everyone knew that you already knew who Kira was.

Light looked at you with anticipation. He knew he wasn't Kira, but for some reason, he was waiting for your answer.

"Ryuzaki, you're really acting bold, huh? If Light was Kira, I would do nothing but sit back and observe. If Light wasn't Kira, then I would still do nothing and sit back and observe. So I wouldn't do anything either way, "you give L an annoyed expression.

"Well Misa, based on what you just told me, there's no mistake, you are the second Kira, but you made it so painfully obvious that I don't really want to believe it. N/n it seems like you still have no intentions of helping out with the case, which is okay." L stated

"It better be," you mumbled under your breath.

"For the time being, you will be placed under surveillance. If you need to go out, you will be able to contact us using the room extension. Your life should go back to normal, but your private work affairs... matsuda will be accompanying you," L informed Misa.

"Also, N/n, you will also be a model along side Misa, so be prepared for that" L told you casually

"Sorry, what was that again?" you asked, with obvious disbelief.

"You will be accompanying Misa on her photoshoots. You have the option to be her manager or a model with her," L told you.

Does he think being a model is that easy? I can't simply just say I want to become a model. I might as well become a manager.

"Which gets paid more?" You asked curiously.

"A model!" L responds quickly.

That's suspicious

"I'll be a model then. By the way, how are you going to do this? Doesn't Misa need to do solo shoots? She also has her personal stuff. " You start off by questioning L.

"Also... being a model isn't easy. How am I going to suddenly become qualified to have the same ranking as Misa? I'm also not qualified to stand next to her. " You frantically ask L, not understanding his mindset.

"You and Misa will be placed under the same company. I've assigned Matusda, for the most part, to take jobs that have two people. I've also given money to the company you are working for, so that you will be gaining a lot of attention, "L explained.

"I haven't even agreed yet. Why did you do all this already? " You asked L suspiciously.

"I figured that you would like to become a model for the money as well as to stay side by side with Misa," L explained.

What are the model standards here? Have I already become the best since I got transported here?

Oh well, I'll just assume that I have the looks that are desired here.

"Yay! I get to work with N/n! " Misa smiled while she grabbed your hands.

You patted Misa on the head.

"Wait, is this old guy our manager? You can't be serious. " Misa pointed at Matsuda

"Aw, c'mon, what's wrong with me, Misa Misa? Is it the tie because I can get-" Matsuda was trying to get Misa to accept him but got interrupted.

Aizawa slams his hand into the desk.

"Would you cut it out with all this dating, kissing, and Misa Misa talk already? This is the Kira investigation. Stop messing around! " Aizawa yelled

This still has to do with the Kira investigation since these two are the suspects

"Sorry about that, Aizawa" Matsuda apologized.

"Nope, it's alright, I just figured out what the problem is." Aizawa stood up and started walking towards Misa.

"Misa Amane, it is time for you to go to your room." Aizawa grabs Misa and throws her out.

"Hey Light, we can go on a date, even if it is the four of us, it can be like a double date!" Misa yelled before having the door slammed on her.

Aizawa starts walking towards you, but you stand still.

"And you, N/n-" Aizawa was about to grab you, but you slapped his hand away roughly.

"I didn't even do anything. Get your hand away from me if you still wish to work on this investigation with both of your hands," you tell him harshly.

Aizawa grunts before going back to his seat.

"Ahem, So Light... are you serious about her?" L asked Light

"No way, it's completely one-sided. Besides, I'm already interested in someone else, "Light says while he glances over at you.

"Someone else?" L asked, while moving his gaze towards you. 

It seemed as if you didn't care or catch on to what Light said.

In all honesty, you didn't want to engage in talk about Light's crush. You were almost 100% sure it was you, but you didn't want to confront him about it yet. You knew you needed to get Misa a way out of the relationship without having her hold a grudge against you.

"There are two things I know about the investigation: first she's involved in this, and two, she's in love with you," L said.

"You want me to become intimate with her to get information on the second Kira?" Light asked.

"Yes, I think you could do it without arousing suspicion, and Amane will be a valuable source of information for us." Not to mention this is the reason I agreed to release the two of you, "L informed Light.

"Ryuzaki... as much as I want to help with the Kira investigation, I can't manipulate a woman's feelings like that. Please try to understand that exploiting a person's feelings for personal gain is unforgivable! I won't allow myself to stoop that low! " Light stated confidently.

You look at Light and hold in a laugh.

Light? Not manipulating people? It's crazy how much he's changed

"I understand," L said, with a sigh.

"By the way, do you think we can come up with some kind of way or alternative to this system of moving from hotel to hotel every few days?" Light asked, slightly annoyed.

"Yes, in fact I had that very same thought not long ago... I've arranged for a facility to be built. Construction started after my first meeting with Mr. Yagami and the others. It should be finished in a few days," L said while pulling up a document of it.

"Here it is," L showed you and the others what the headquarters looked like.

You stare at the building.

I forgot how nice it looked. I'm excited to see it first hand

"You still have all this cash, huh?" You ask with a smile.

L looks up at you.

"Yes, if you put it that way," L responds with no sign of emotion.

"I'll be leaving now, good night." You walk out of the room. You were excited to see the new place in a few days.

A few days later,

You arrive inside and start to feel antsy. You stare at the building with mixed emotions.

This is where I'll be living till the Kira investigation is over. This is also where L dies... I won't let that happen.

"N/n, let's go inside now." L said.

"Light~ let's go on a date now, okay?" Misa asked Light when you first entered.

"N/n! You and L will be having a double date!" Misa encouraged

"Can't they just go as friends?" Light asked no one in particular.

"Shut up." You make sure he doesn't say anything for the time being.

Misa will be upset if he keeps saying stuff like this. I can't let him keep this up.

Light, Misa, and L look at you in shock.

"Ahem, anyways, let's go" you clasp your hands together.

You all go inside the room that you and Misa share. You stayed in the hotel a bit later than everyone else, since you needed to cancel the contact on the house you bought and cash out your money. L gave you

This room is nice, and I'm pretty sure L has informed Misa that I'll be staying here.

"So when did you two meet? And how long have you been seeing each other? " Misa asked with a smile.

This is going to be very different from the original scene, since Misa is not bothered by L's presence... I hope Light and L still fight.

"Me and Ryuzaki are not in a relationship," you say, with no clear emotion in your voice.

"Really? Are you interested in him? You can tell me. " Misa encourages you, awaiting a response.

"Funny story... actually, I-" you were about to say something when Light abruptly cut you off.

"Do we need to talk about this?" Light asked, clearly annoyed.

"Yes! I want to know more about N/n!" Misa pouted

This is the first time Misa has stood up to Light since we've been here..

"Are you going to eat that?" L asked Misa

"No. Go ahead!" Misa offers

"Thanks," L says, before grabbing the cake, getting ready to eat it, but he notices you haven't touched yours yet.

"Do you want me to feed it to you?" L asked you innocently.

Does he realize what he's asking?

L doesn't look like he said it in a flirty way; he genuinely thought you needed help eating it.

"YE-" you were about to respond but Light once again, rudely interrupted you, asking a question for L

"I've been meaning to ask, what's wrong with you? Ever since we've moved here, you haven't seemed motivated to me,"Light asked.

Oh?

"Not motivated? You're right, I'm actually depressed. " L responds solemnly.

"So true Ryuzaki ‼️" You agree

"Huh?" They all look at you suspiciously.

"Never mind," you say, waving your hand as if you didn't want to talk any longer.

"What for?" Light asked L.

"Well truthfully, I thought all this time that you were Kira and my entire case hinges on that fact. I guess I can't get past the fact my deduction was wrong. Although, having said that, I'm still suspicious of you.. that's why we're wearing these" L said, bringing his handcuffs up

"We also know Kira can control people's actions, which makes it highly likely Kira was controlling your actions, so I would suspect you. If I assume both you and Misa were being controlled by him, then everything we've observed so far makes a lot more sense to me." L grumbles

Light announced "If that's what you think, Misa and I were both Kira at the time we were being controlled, "

"Even if we catch someone under his control, they'll likely lose their powers and any memory of their crimes... so in the end, pursuing becomes futile." L said, sounding depressed.

"But at this point, we have no proof to back that up; cheer up, will ya?"Light attempts to comfort L

"Cheer up? NoI'm sorry I can't. It's probably better if I stop trying so hard. " L sighs

"By chasing Kira so desperately, we're just putting our lives at risk for nothing, and this is just a waste of time," L said.

Oh it's coming!! I'm so glad I got to see this.

"Ryuzaki-" Light says calmly

"What?" L inquired, unknowingly.

A loud punch was heard throughout room. Light punches L, throwing him into a wall, breaking the table and making a mess.

Your laughter could be heard clearly, until it suddenly dawned on you.

Wait, this room is mine as well, they're breaking my stuff!

"Ah!" Misa screams as she takes a step backwards towards the cake on the ground.

Misa moves backwards.

This time, you stop Misa from stepping on the cake by supporting her weight with your right arm, leading to Misa's feet leaving the ground, being held in a slight bridal style.

"N/n" Misa mutters.

"You almost stepped in cake," you said matter-of-factly to her.

"Thank you," Misa mumbles shyly.

"Mhm" you say, placing her down gently.

That would've made more of a mess and made the stain harder to clean up if Misa stepped on it. I couldn't allow that to happen

"That's enough! You don't feel like doing anything because your genius deduction was wrong and I'm not Kira. " Light was upset.

"Fine, perhaps I've phrased it the wrong way..." L admits

Phrased the wrong way? This man legit ranted about this for like a minute straight. How do you phrase that the wrong way?

"If we don't chase Kira, then he'll never be caught. Is that what you want?! If you were going to give up, then why'd you involve all those innocent people?" Light shouted

That's rich coming from him.

"More importantly, what was the point in putting me and Misa behind bars?" Light asked angrily.

Did he forget about my confinement??

"I agree, but still, whatever the reason..." L was about to finish until he kicked Light back harshly.

"An eye for an eye, my friend," L said, cooly.

"Oh to be kicked by L," you whispered jokingly. Nobody in the room heard you, but the audio recorders picked it up clearly, leaving the task force stunned for a moment.

They both fall backwards onto the couch.

"It's like you wanted me to be Kira" Light stated

"I guess there is some truth to that. I wanted you to be Kira. " L agrees.

Light punches L, while L counters it with a kick back to his face.

Matsuda calls the room

"Hello?" L responded.

"Ryuzaki, I've got good news! Misa Misa has gotten #1 in the reader's popularity poll!! While N/n finished 15th! She's climbing up the ranks. " Matsuda enthusiastically informed L.

"I see," L replies with a faint smirk on his face.

L didn't smirk in this scene. What else did Matsuda tell him?

"And get this, Misa's gonna get a lead role in-" L hangs up because you are no longer mentioned.

"What was that?" Light asked, as if they weren't just fighting for their life.

"Matsuda called," L said while L looked over at you.

"You've gotten 15th place in the reader's popularity poll," L said nonchalantly.

"I didn't even do anything?" You asked in disbelief.

"Yes, I've sent some photos of you working out during your confinement. They became quite popular," L said, without a care in the world.

You stand there dumbstruck.

"There's no way in hell you did that. Do you even have a conscience? Have you lost your-" you were about to continue

"I'll give you a 15K bonus," L said suddenly.

"Y'know what! You have a point. In this day and age, women should be encouraged to work out. That was a wonderful idea" You grin from ear to ear.

Light looks over at you in shock.

"You're okay with that?" Light asked in disbelief.

"Listen, we're talking about 15k here. I'll forgive him this once. But if he submits photos of me without me knowing again, I'll burn this task force to the ground, while revealing the famous detective 'L' took photos of an unsuspecting girl, understand?: You tell L with no sign of playfulness in your voice.

L nods slowly.

"Great! Anyways... let's get back to what you guys were doing. Who's throwing the next punch? " You eagerly ask.
