"Hey, do you both want to have some cake with me in the cafeteria?" L asked both of you

"Sure, I have a break right now anyway," Light responded.

"Sure", You nod.

"That's perfect. I'm kind of craving shortcake right now. " L starts to walk to the cafeteria while you and Light follow behind.

"Light, there you are! I had a photo shoot nearby, so I thought I'd come by to see you!" Misa yells, running over to Light.

"Oh! You're here. N/n." Misa greeted you, now no longer threatened by you.

Misa looks over towards L.

"Oh! This must be a friend of Light's, N/n. Is this your boyfriend? He looks so different and unique. I'm Light's girlfriend, Misa Amane. Nice to meet you! " Misa announced, paying no mind to your confused expression.

She thinks I'm dating L.

No, more importantly, this is going to implicate me.

Dammit Misa, now L will suspect me of helping Kira since you greeted me.

"Unfortunately, no. N/n is a friend of mine. I'm Hidkei Ryuga. " L announced, you couldn't help but hear regret in his voice.

Unfortunately?? Is there another harem member?

L was staring at Misa, giggling and staring.

"...I have been a huge fan of yours since the August issue of 18." L looked at Misa

"Really? That's so sweet of you!" Misa said, gratefully.

"Isn't that Misa Misa?"

"She's so cute!"

"Look at her!"

"I'm your biggest fan!"

"Keep up the good work."

A horde of fans came over to greet Misa, but suddenly

"No way! Somebody just touched my butt! " Misa yelled.

"Gah! This is an outrage. Taking advantage of this situation is ridiculous. I will find whoever is responsible for this. " L announces

"Hehe Ryuga, you're so funny." Misa laughs

'I want to ask Misa what L's name is as soon as possible'. anxiously thought light

"Misa! It's time, or were you planning to be late again? " Misa's manager scolded Misa and grabbed her arm to take her away.

"Bye Light, I'll see you after I'm done with work. I miss you already. Bye Bye N/n and Ryuga " Misa said goodbye

"Now then, it's time to get going," L says, while he continues to walk.

"Alright! Are you going to pay? " You ask while following L.

"Actually, you both can go ahead. I need to use the bathroom," Light says before slipping away.

You look over at Ryuk, and you both exchange a grin.

"Okay, I'll see you there." Light continues to walk while he pulls out his phone to make a phone call.

'It's over, it's been fun L. I'm grateful I was the one to discover your name... so I could kill you myself!' Light thought to himself with a smirk.

Light calls Misa's phone, while L picks up the phone call.

"Yes? Hello? " L asked

You snicker to yourself. Ryuk responds the same way as well.

"What do you mean, hello?" Light asked angrily.

"Is that you, Light? I guess someone must have dropped this phone in the commotion early on" L said.

Light remained quiet

"Uh hello?" L asked

"Yeah, that's Misa's cell phone you have. I can give it back to her, "Light said, very annoyed.

*Beep* L turned off the phone and handed it to Light.

*Ring* You heard L's phone ring.

"Oh, this time it's actually my cell phone," L said before putting it up to his ear.

"Yes?"

"Yes, I see."

"So it's done then."

"I understand."

L gets off the phone and turns to Light, while you stand awkwardly.

"I'm not exactly sure how you'll take this, but regarding Misa Amane, there is something you should know." L starts off.

"We've taken her into custody on suspicion of being the second Kira," L said to the both of you.

"We gathered physical evidence of the envelopes sent by Kira; in particular, we used hair and fiber found in Misa's room." L explained it to both of you.

"It would cause a public uproar if it came out that Misa was the second Kira. Officially, we charged her manager with drug possession and her as a witness... but I doubt any of this will get out." L continued explaining

You look around at both Light and L

"So, I'm guessing we're not going to get cake?" You asked, genuinely wondering what would happen next.

Light walked away, then L said he had some business to take care of.

Time skip to Misa's interrogation:

It's been a few days since Misa was captured. You stayed in your room for the most part, hoping L wouldn't interrogate you.

"Watari, has she said anything yet?" L asked

"No, she hasn't spoken," Watari responded.

"Give me a visual of her," L demanded.

"Are you sure?" Watari asked hesitantly before turning on the visual for L

On the other side of the screen, whines and groans could be heard from the young model.

"Ryuzaki, what is the meaning of this?" Mr. Yagami asked, shocked.

"I've apprehended her of being the second Kira, chances are Amane is guilty. There is no mistake, now we need a confession.. we need to know how she was killed and who's Kira," L explained to the room.

"Take the necessary precautions, but besides that, do whatever you deem is necessary to just make her speak." L spoke into the microphone to let Watari know what he wished to happen.

"Mr. Yagami, Light has become the prime suspect and I'm going to bring him into questioning. Please be prepared for that, "L told Mr. Yagami directly.

"What about N/n?" Mr. Yagami asked,  keeping his anger hidden.

"I'll deal with her soon," L responded, not taking his eyes off the screen with Misa on it.

Suddenly, Watari could be heard informing Light of the situation.

"Ryuzaki, Amane is talking," Watari announced.

"Quickly, turn on the visual audio," L said quickly.

"Kill me... kill me... just kill me."Misa begs the detective on the other screen.

"We've pushed her too far." A member said with pity.

"Misa Amane, can you hear me?" L inquired into the microphone.

"Please just kill me now," Misa begs once again.

"Do you admit to being the second Kira? Is this why you wish to die? "L asked Misa.

"No, I don't know anything about the second Kira... I really can't take it anymore. Now hurry up and kill me. If you wanted to, you could kill me right now if you wanted to." Misa attempted to get through to the detective.

Meanwhile, with you:

I'll go visit Light. I'll see what he's up to.

You get ready to leave. You walk over to Light's house.

You knock on the door. You had to knock quite a few times to get Light to respond.

"Hey, Light," you say.

"N/n? What are you doing here right now? It isn't a good idea to be seen," Light scolded you.

"Of course I know that, so instead of scolding me, how about you invite me inside so I don't get spotted." You say, clealry irritated

Light sighs while he opens the door and ushers you in.

He brings you inside and brings you to his room.

"Was there a reason you came over?" Light asked, slightly hoping you were there to talk to him.

"So... i was bored." You shrug, not giving another thought of how this might make him feel.

Back with Misa and Rem

"Kill me," Misa cried out.

"Do you really mean that, Misa?" Rem asked with heartache.

"Yes I do. I can't take it anymore. Kill me. " Misa quickly responded.

"If I do this, then Light Yagami and this so-called 'N/n' will die as well. This is all their fault," Rem told Misa.

"No, you can't! Please, just kill me. " Misa begged

"Why Misa?" Why do you want to die for him and let her live? " Rem asked.

"Fine! If you won't kill me... " Misa was about to bite her tongue off.

"Watari, stop her!" L yelled

"Ah-"

Misa gets gagged before groaning.

"Is it possible this could be attributed to Kira controlling her actions before her death?" L questioned

'N/n must know about this, but I don't expect her to answer. It seems like I have to make N/n talk '

Back with N/n and Light

"What's the matter, Rem?" Light asked Rem

You watched their interaction on the floor, reading some of Light's magazines.

"Light Yagami, Misa has refused my offer to escape, no doubt because she knew it would cause you trouble since the police would then have proof of her powers. When her suffering became more than she could bear, she was begging me to kill her." Light was informed by Rem.

"She's doing all of this because she wants you to love her."

"I couldn't do it. There was only one way to save her from her suffering," Rem said solemnly.

"Forfeiting ownership of the death note." Light said more as a statement.

Rem replied, "Yes."

"If Misa forfeits ownership of the death note, all her memories related to it would disappear. All the murders related to the fact that you are Kira would be gone. All your secrets are safe. 

"And so Misa is no longer the owner of the Death Note," Rem explained.

"You did the right thing, Rem. I was beginning to think that was the only way out of this situation. If her memories of the death note are gone, the chances are they have to release her eventually," Light said proudly.

"I proposed this to Misa, knowing exactly what she wanted. I did this on one condition, and that is that if you don't save Misa, I will kill you." Rem glares at Light, Rem's gaze slowly makes its way over to you.

"N/n, what was it that you wished to speak with me about?" Rem said, remembering what you said

"Follow me, let's leave Light with Ryuk." I have a serious subject I'd like to talk about" N/n smiles and walks out of the Yagami household.
