"Hey Matsuda! I'm going out tomorrow and I need someone to come with me. Are you accompany me? " You ask Matsuda on the phone.

"Me?!"Matsuda asked, shocked.

"Yes, that's why I called you," you responded. Although the phrase sounded rude, the tone you used was nice and gentle.

This caused L and Light to look back at you.

'Meow'

A small meow could be heard from your side of the phone

You covered the phone and spoke to those in the car.

"I need stuff for the cat. Let's stop by and get some," you told to L.

"Okay," L agreed. Watari started the car and drove away.

"Sorry about that, anyways, I'll talk to you when I go back to the HQ." You hang up.

Matsuda was on the other side with a smile.

"What are you smiling about?" Mr. Yagami asked

"N/n asked me on a date!" Matsuda said

"A date?" Mr. Yagami asked

Matsuda nodded.

"Yes, she told me she needed to go somewhere tomorrow and asked me to come with her," Matsuda explained.

"Hm."

Back with you:

"I'm going to leave the cat here. Can one of you watch her while I get her stuff?" You ask

They both agree at the same time, leading you to just placing the cat on your seat so the cat could decide

The cat makes its way towards Light, before abruptly pushing its tail towards the hand that was going to pet him and making its way towards L.

L gently held the cat with both arms while the cat got into a comfortable position to close its eyes.

Both you and Light watched the scene unfold. Watari was waiting outside. He had opened the door for you.

"Feeling jealous of a cat right now" you say with a sigh

Light looks up at you with a confused expression. L looks over at you with a surprised expression.

"N/n-" Light was about to respond to your comment.

"Oh?" L asked, getting ready to keep pressing you about the comment.

You look around, slightly embarrassed, but remembering that this isn't the'real world' anymore, so you gain a bit more confidence.

"Would either of you believe me if I said I got possessed?" You asked with a smile.

They both looked even more confused before L spoke up.

"No, I would not," he said smugly.

"What if I said you took my words out of context?" You calmly say

"What did you mean?" Light asked, hoping for you to say you meant something else.

"I mean that L is getting all this attention while Misa and I haven't even- " you got cut off by Light pressing his hand against your mouth.

L looked at you in disbelief, while Light looked at you in shock as well.

"... I think it would be best to move you into your own room," L said.

"I agree," Light said.

You chomp on Lights' hand, leaving a clear mark, before spitting out

"Anyways, I'm staying with Misa. If you don't allow it, I will sob until I can't function anymore." You started a new approach. Instead of threatening them violently or blackmailing them, you chose to threaten to cry.

"Okay, but please don't make anymore comments like that. She's my girlfriend," Light said, clenching his fist.

"Yes, that is very inappropriate," L added on.

The cat bit L on the finger, L just stares at his freshly drawn blood before the cat jumps out into your hands.

"So she's only your girlfriend when it's convenient?" You asked, rolling your eyes, while petting the cat placed on your lap.

Light didn't respond, so you got up and placed the cat down on the seat and went to enter the convenience store.

You stocked up on food and snacks. You also got cat food and cat toys. You sigh, paying for your items and reaching for your wallet.

Watari noticed that you were getting ready to pay and stopped you.

"Ryuzaki told me to pay for you," Watari said before handing the cashier the card.

"Really? That was nice," you say, looking over towards the car.

After getting into the car, you notice the cat shivering under the seat.

Both of them remained silent, as if nothing happened.

"What the hell did you do to her?" You asked while picking up the cat protectively.

"We're not sure..." Light said, looking away

You looked at L to confirm this, and he simply nodded.

The cat starts purring when in your arms, while Light and L look at the cat with a slight hint of jealousy.

They wouldn't harm a cat for the sake of being jealous, right?

You look back at the both of them and they look normal enough.

"Let's go," you say, placing a small blanket you bought over the cat.

What really happened:

"If you are still in a relationship with Misa, stop trying to pursue N/n," L told Light with a straight face.

"I was going to break it up with Misa, but Misa isn't letting me leave! Besides, N/n isn't yours! " Light raised his voice.

"She's not yours either. You heard what she said earlier. She likes your girlfriend more than you," L responded in a rather calm tone.

"You-" Light got up, getting ready to punch L before the cat got frightened by the loud noise.

The cat jumped under the driver's seat, slightly shaken from the altercation.

Light stopped what he was about to do and sat back down.

"Don't tell N/n about this; she won't like how we scared her cat," Light said, looking as if nothing happened.

Light looks over at the cat and gets ready to attempt to pet it before it shifts around from Light.

This was the moment you entered the car.

As you were driving home, you looked over at the phone and saw that it was from the modern world.

You go under the blanket and decide to test out a few things.

Your phone was miraculously able to be used without the usual cell towers. You look up 'Death Note' to see what results show up. Sure enough, the Death Note series showed up.

You look at the most important parts: the date and the time. You quickly go to the site/app you watched Death Note from, preparing to go back to it to remember the script for future reference.

You take off the blanket, hiding your phone with a smile.

"Why are you so happy?" Light asked curiously.

Definitely not going to tell them about the phone.

"I'm just thinking about what I should name the cat," you hummed.

"I'll go with (Cat Name= C/n)" you stated

"C/n?" L looked back and asked

"Yes, I like the name, so I will be calling her that." You nodded. You then started to cough.

"Are you okay?" They both ask at the same time.

"Yeah, I think I'm sick. It might have been too dirty there, "you said, referring to the alley."

L looked at you and pressed his hand against your forehead.

You look at him with a surprised reaction, before leaning into his hand.

Light looked at the scene, gritting his teeth.

You didn't care how Light felt at this moment, you felt L's cold hand and kept it there.

After you were feeling cooler, you leaned away from his hand and got into a comfortable position, waiting to go to the headquarters. You start to close your eyes and you fall asleep. You didn't wake up when you arrived.

"She can stay in my room," Light said boldly.

"That's not very appropriate considering you have a girlfriend. I will bring N/n with me," L said.

Before Light could argue, L picked up the cat gently from your lap 

"If you want to assist her, then take care of her cat," L said, handing the cat over to Light, along with the supplies you bought.

L then opened the car door.

"Are you stupid? How can I do that when we're handcuffed!" Light yelled

L stopped before looking back at him.

"When we enter the building i will temporarily take off the handcuffs, for now... follow me" L said

'Is he really going to release the handcuffs to have alone time with N/n?' Light thought to himself

L picked you up in a position that you would have approved of, so he picked you up bridal style, only holding the back of your head and your legs.

L enters the headquarters with you in his arms. He managed to get through the tedious process of checking in, and as soon as he did, Matusda ran over.

"What's wrong with N/n!" Matsuda yelled, making you shift in L's arms.

L glares at Matsuda and says, "Shush, she's asleep."

"Oh, sorry," he whispers.

Watari, already being aware of the situation with the handcuffs, took the key.

Watari took the cuffs and separated the both of them.

"Watari, keep watch over Light while I watch N/n," L said before making his way to the place he occasionally sleeps in. He places you down, tucking you underneath the blanket, before he sits down on a chair near the bed.

His arms were slightly sore from carrying you, so he took a break, watching as you slept. He then noticed a small rectangular device sticking out from underneath your shirt. L slowly reaches out for it, sliding your phone out.

Immediately, you spring up, tightly grabbing L's hand.

"What are you doing?" You asked sternly.

L looks slightly taken aback, before regaining his composure.

"This looked like it was disturbing your sleep, so I wanted to take it out," L said, acting very convincingly.

"No need," You say, letting go of his hand.

"Y/n-" L was about to speak.

"You're still calling me that?" You ask

Just then, Light walked in. In fact, he had been listening and watching the both of you since you woke up. L had forgotten to completely close the door since he was carrying you.

"Shit," mumbled L.

"What are you doing here?" L asked

"I was checking up on Y/n," Light said casually.

You looked at Light with a blank expression.

"Y/n is your name, huh? Why does he get to know your name and I don't? " Light asked with a hurt expression.

"Y/n is a nickname he gives me," You say without looking suspicious.

"You may be able to fool Misa and my dad with that, but I already heard him call you this twice. Seeing your reaction, it seems like it's the truth." Light said.

There's no getting out of this one. Light is smart. I can't trick him.

You remain silent.

"Y/n, I won't tell anyone your real name, trust me," Light said, holding on to your hand. Before you could pull back, Matsuda walked in.

Matsuda looked like a deer caught in headlights.

"I-I didn't hear anything," He says, frantically waving his hands.

Light and L glare at Matsuda

"Might as well invite the whole taskforce," you say sarcastically.

You stand up, pushing away both L and Light

L helped you stand up, but by doing so, the dog collar dropped out of your pocket.

You picked it up as quick as it fell, and you glanced around the room looking for their reaction. You didn't know which side it landed on, you could only wait for someone to say something.

"Who are you meeting in two days?" Light was the first to speak up.

They didn't see my last name.

"Personal matter, I'll be returning to my room. Please don't disturb me. I have matters to handle," you say, walking out.

As you walked back, you bumped into Misa.

"N/N! What happened to you? You don't look so good. " Misa said, due to your dirty appearance.

"I'm okay." You smile, patting Misa's hair.

You left the dog collar in your pocket while changing clothes. You didn't want any cameras to catch a slight view of it.

You take a long bath, relaxing as much as possible considering your situation.

After you changed, you checked the time. It was already about to be 6. You got up and made your way to the main place where the investigation was done, with the big screen.
