As you and Light entered the restaurant, you both took the food to go. You both arrive at the house you bought before your confinement.

"So...about the whole writing name thing," you say before taking a bite of your food.

Light was just staring at you. He wasn't eating.

He's wasting food. I guess he did pay for it.

"Yes?" Light questioned

"I will be writing names, but I won't do the eye deal," you tell him straight up.

Light stayed silent before speaking up

"Aren't you supporting me? Why won't you get rid of L?" Light asked angrily.

"Calm down. Who's house do you think you're in?" You ask, clearly annoyed.

"Be glad I'm not writing your own name here. Behave yourself," you comment before eating again.

"Okay, then tell me. What do you plan on doing?" Light asked.

"Well... I'll write down the criminals' names for now. That's about it" you shrug.

"I see," Light says, looking frustrated.

"Are you supporting me or L?" Light asked.

"None of you. I've said this before. I just want to watch" you reply.

"Then why are you doing this? Why are you helping with writing down criminals' names if you're not on my side?" Light asked.

"Because I can. I'm doing this because I find it fun. I'll start writing down names when you leave." You say

"So what about us?" Light asked.

"What about us?" You asked, as you looked at his statistics.

"I would prefer for you not to get rid of L." you sigh

You grab a spare bag that you have and put the food inside.

"You'll be leaving. Good luck," you say, ushering him outside.

"You're asking me to leave?" Light asked, clearly shocked.

"Yes? This is my house. Don't tell me you expected to stay while I left?" You asked.

Light stormed out.

He'll find his own way home.

You were surprised that Light wasn't telling you to be careful with the Death Note. It seems like he had a lot of trust in you.

You prepared yourself(favorite drink) and (snacks). You then prepared the death note and got a pen.

After getting your computer turned on, you looked up a list of criminals.

As you wrote down the very first name, you felt a rush inside of you.

Is this what it feels like to hold this much power, or is it guilt?

As the night progressed, you stopped writing down names. You were tired. You cleaned up, making sure there was no trace of any suspicious activity.

You called a cab and made your way to the task force building.

"Hello Y/n." L was the first to greet you.

"What were you and Light doing?" L asked

"We ate food," you said, holding up your bag of food you brought.

"We still have a case to focus on. Please try to work," L told Light.

"We weren't even aware of the new Kira" Light told L.

"There's a new Kira?" you ask, displaying your amazing acting.

"Yes" L said, you successfully diverted the attention away from yourself.

"Seems like we need to observe them for a bit to see what their motive is" you say, hoping to buy more time to prepare for L's fake death.

L looked behind him to face you before he nodded in agreement.

"What would happen if we caught whoever is in charge of these killings? Would we really be able to charge them with these crimes?" Light asked, trying to get a reaction from Rem.

Luckily, things are progressing as they were in the anime. This shouldn't be too hard..

"The least we can do is execute them," L responded.

"What are your thoughts Y/n?" Light asked.

"I don't know," you say, looking at Light suspiciously.

'Is Misa the one killing again?... no.. I need to trust Y/n' Rem thought to herself.

Rem still couldn't see your name and number of days left to live. She didn't know if it was Misa who started killing or if it was you.

"If they admit to killing with the notebook, they can be executed, or they can get life in prison. That's what they can hope for," L said, paying no attention to the shinigami glaring at him.

Time Skip, 1 day:

It has been 1 day since you started using the death note to kill criminals. Unlike Light, you did deep research on the criminals. You made sure they were the ones committing the crimes.

You were a lot slower in the process due to your confirmation of each criminal's deeds. But you still managed to make a good dent in the criminals that needed to be "deleted"

Since you have been so busy, you haven't been able to spend some time by yourself.

System: Congratulations on completing all those tasks! You will now be presented with another task.

Task: cash out all your money now.

(no reward): you have already been rewarded with extra money due to "traitor"

You turned off your phone before you made your way over to the subway station and took a seat. You were prepared to sleep, but you got distracted by a few kids.

"What a loser!" One kid yells. He appeared to be around 10.

"Stop!" The child who seemed to be getting bullied yelled.

"What are you going to do, cry?" Another of the kids mocked, throwing a slap at the child already on the floor.

As the kids continued to bully each other, your laughter could be heard. It distracted the kids and caught the attention of a few adults.

"What are you laughing at?" The kid yelled at you.

After you calmed down, you walked over to the kids.

"You and your insults. What kind of insult is calling someone a loser?" You scoff.

"You-" One of the kids was about to speak up before you crouched down to the bullied kid.

"Hey, you alright?" You asked, poking his head

"Mhm," the young boy answered.

One of the children, who appeared to be the ringleader, kicked the back of your leg.

"Agh! That hurt!" You turned around to face the kid, who had a cocky smirk on his face.

You rubbed your calf, already knowing a bruise would form soon. You stood up, towering over the kids.

"To everyone who witnessed this incident, please acknowledge this is self-defense. I feel threatened. " You said, paying no attention to the other kids trying to stop you.

You looked at the kid who continued to try to hurt you. He kept throwing weak punches at your back. You were generously willing to give him a chance, but seeing as he kept hurting you, you knocked the kid to the ground.

As you did so, you heard a crack. The kid was gripping his knee in pain.

Your eyes widen in surprise. You weren't expecting anything to happen. Another one of the kids took this opportunity to kick you down.

You kicked the other child's ankle, causing him to fall as well.

"Kira would probably kill you for bullying.. should I post this?" You inquire aloud. You just wanted to instill fear in these kids. You knew they wouldn't get killed for something like this.

The kids looked at you wide-eyed.

I didn't want to get too involved. I guess that's no longer an option

A dashing looking man came up behind you to help you up. You were confused but accepted the help. As you looked up, you noticed it was Teru Mikami.

The child nods his head.

"Good" you stand up, already forgetting about the children you injured due to defending yourself.

After looking at how his obsession was already high, you weren't ready to have a Yandere character chasing after you.

"I'd rather n-" you we're about to finish but you got notified with a task

"-yes, I would love that," you smiled, changing your attitude completely.

The subway stopped after you and Mikami exchanged numbers. You didn't see where the kid you pushed went and didn't care. You were slightly concerned about whatever cracked in his knee, but it wasn't a big deal.

When the subway stopped, a few police officers from the department were waiting outside.

You appeared to be more annoyed than scared. You picked up your belongings that were laid down and stood up.

Mikami noticed your facial expression and attempted to comfort you.

"I'm sure they're not here for you," Mikami says.

"Ma'am, please follow us quietly. Anything you say can and-" as the voice was speaking, the person talking widened his eyes.

"N/n?" Aizawa asked.

He's working for the police force again?

"Hey" you greet him with a wave.

"I'm going to need you to follow me," he says, cuffing your hands behind your back.

"Is this because I threatened you before? Cmon, we're pals... don't do this" you attempt to convince him

You turn around to face Mikami while he rushes over to see you. He gets blocked by the other police officer, while you get escorted to the police car,

Since he's a criminal prosecutor, it'd be funny if he convicted me.

You get comfortable in the car and fall asleep, waiting to be locked up.

'She's really sleeping at a time like this?' Aizawa thought to himself

Aizawa drove to the task force building. He stopped in front and dragged you through the main entrance.

You were being pulled around like a criminal. It started to rain heavily. The water was dripping all over you.

As you were admiring the nice scenery in the forestry area, Aizawa spoke up.

"What would Ryuzaki think?" Aizawa asked.

"About what? The scenery? Or the rain?" You asked, slightly confused.

"No, the situation you're in." Aizawa responded.

"What situation? All you're doing is guiding me inside the building. I don't see the need to escalate this any further, right?" You asked politely.

"Is there a way for me to get an umbrella?" You asked, wondering when you would arrive at the building.

Watari was waiting for the both of you at the entrance. It seems like he was watching you from the security cameras. He saw how Aizawa had arrived with you in the police car.

"Good evening, Watari. Nice weather. We really should hire a gardener here. I wouldn't mind helping ou-" as you were about to finish talking, Aizawa interrupted you.

"Watari, N/n caused a scene at the subway. She injured a child," Aizawa said.

"Will you take responsibility for the child's medical bill?" Aizawa asked, turning around to face you.

"I'm not even going to take care of his therapy bill after I start messing with him. I suggest you don't make such unreasonable demands" you reply

Aizawa glared at you harshly before demanding for this to be handled.

"Hello Watari!" You greet him.

"Ms. Y/n, Ryuzaki has been looking for you. Please, follow me."

"Where is he now?" You asked Watari. Curious to where the plot was at.

"The roof," Watari said.

Your eyes widened

It's the rooftop scene. I can't miss it. I just need to have a peek.

"Y/n" Rem called out your name.

"Hm?" You looked around to face her.

"Are you writing down the names in the notebook or is that Misa?" Rem questioned. She had been keeping this question to herself for a while.

"Me" you let Rem know.

"Why?" Rem asked, wondering why you were going so far for Misa.

"So that Misa doesn't have to. I have a guaranteed plan to get Misa out of this relationship. I need you to do something for me though.." you explain

"What is it?" Rem asked, eager to assist you.

"Follow me," you whisper, allowing her to follow you to the room you and Misa once shared.

"Can you check for cameras once more?" You asked, you hadn't done anything that suspicious, but you would have preferred for nothing to be documented.

"There's one right there." Rem said, pointing to a camera angled above the bed.

"Destroy it, please," you sigh, clearly angry.

When Watari deletes the data, this should be deleted as well

*Crack*

"Anyways, I can get Misa out of the relationship, but I need you to pretend to kill Ryuzaki and Watari." You finally explain the main issue.

"How?" Rem asked, wondering how you would pull this off.

You go to a corner of your room and get out 2 of the 5 bottles that you had gotten to make someone sleep for a year.

"Can you place this inside of L's and Watari's tea? This will cause them to fall into a deep sleep for a year. " You requested, praying that she would accept.

Rem hesitates but nods.

" L will say something about trying out the death note to test the rules. After you hear this, go to Watari and force him to drink the tea laced with the potion." You say as you hand Rem the potion,

"The potion should take effect immediately. So I need you to press the delete all data button since Watari won't be able to" you explain

I'll try my new invisibility power to feed L the potion. This is going better than expected!

"Since Light is currently the owner of your death note, you need to replace it when you fake die and turn into sand. Use this" you say, giving your death note that you had been given as a reward.

"Remember, drop this notebook on the floor and put this sand down below it. This will act as your body when you pretend to kill Watari, Light will swoop in and take the notebook and give it back" you explain.

Rem takes your deathnote and goes to prepare for your plan.

"I will be watching to make sure you keep your promise and protect Misa" Rem told you slowly.

You respond with a nod. You then run like you have never run before.

You rushed up the stairs and made it to the rooftop. The rain was coming down hard. You take a minute to admire the scenery before running outside and looking for L and Light.

Did they already go back inside? Is it the foot drying scene?

You catch up to the both of them in the staircase and stare at the both of them.

"Can I have a turn?" You asked, trying to hide the fact that you were out of breath.

"-I can do it for you," Light offers, getting up and using a towel to walk over to you.

"Ryuzaki can do it," you quickly respond, walking over to L.

L looks at you and nods, not saying anything.

Why is he so sad?

"Okay" L nods, before he kneels down to wipe your feet.

L cleans your feet and a huge smile is plastered on your face.

'Enjoy this while you can. Y/n, I'm sure you didn't expect L to die in a bit. I'll give you this happiness, one last time' Light reflected to himself.

After L cleaned your feet, you cleaned his hair with a towel. You knew it would be a while before you got to actually speak with him again, so you made the most of it.

'What are you going to do now, Y/n  L/n' the one you call 'Traitor' thought before transferring the human-like corpses to your room.

After you, Light, and L finished your drying, everyone walked inside the main area of the task force building.

"I'm going to test out the notebook," L which was Rem's queue to leave and 'kill' Watari.

After everyone was disapproving L 's idea, a groan could be heard from the other side of the screen. Watari had struggled to stay awake, which only lasted a couple seconds.

Watari had pressed the delete button, which deleted the data. This means Rem didn't need to do so.

"What's going on?" Matsuda asked.

"I told Watari that if anything happened, he should delete all data," L explained.

"Could it be?" Matsuda asked.

You went to the back of the room and an option appeared on the right of your vision.

Enable Invisibility? Limit: 3 minutes. You may turn it off at any moment within the next three minutes

You pressed "Yes" and ran over to L.

"Where's the shinigami?" L yelled.

"Where's Y/n?" L whispered to himself, wondering if this was a part of the story.

"Everyone the shinigam-" L stopped mid sentence before his mouth was forced open. You used two of your finger to open his mouth.

You grabbed the bottle and opened the lid. You then spilled the contents of the bottle on his tongue. Which immediately soaked on his tongue.

L started to droop down.

You turned off the invisibility sooner than the 3 minutes and made it appear as if you were behind everyone all along and didn't disappear.

"What's going on?" You ask with fake concern.

L's spoon drops out of his hands.

You were fast, but Light was faster. You were about to jump over to hold L as L fell. Light jumped over to carry him.

"Ryuzaki what's wrong?" Matusda asked with worry.

Light had an evil grin on his face. While L's eyelids were threatening to close, L took one last look over at you. He used all his power to see you for what he thought was the last time.

He felt his heart drop, literally and figuratively when he saw a smile on your face. The smile you had was because your plan succeeded in saving him, but he thought you killed him alongside Light.

'I was played. I was just entertainment to her. She sided with Light after everything.. At least I was right about him' L thought

Since this wasn't a real heart attack, he still had time to think and the last thing he did before he was about to sleep for a while was let out a tear, mouthing your name.

This made your heart drop.

He was under the impression that he was going to die, and the last thing he thought about was me.

This started actual tears from coming

I saved him. Why am I feeling guilty??

"What is going on?!" Mr. Yagami yelled

"AHH!! WERE GONNA DIE !!ITS GONNA BE US NEXT!" Light yelled loudly

"DAMN YOU SHINIGAMI!! YOU KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT THIS DONT YOU?!! COME ON OUT!!" Light continued to scream.

You look over at Light and laugh at his acting.

This is a bit too much.

Everyone mistook your laughter for crying, so nobody paid much attention to it.

You instructed Rem to turn off the emergency lights as well, so it was pitch dark. Rem actually replaced the bodies of L and Watari with the fake ones for you, which helped you a lot.

She appeared behind you and tapped on your shoulder. You followed her to your room.

You watched Watari and L lay on your bed. They were clearly breathing, which made you feel so much better.

"Alright, Rem, I've got a lot of work to do now. I just gotta find a way to bring them over to my place," you announced.

You grabbed L, bridal style, like he once did to you, and you prepared to teleport. You had forgotten about this ability, so this was the perfect opportunity to use it.

You kept teleporting 50 feet before you arrived to your house, which took a little while, maybe 5 minutes, but since you were able to spam this power, it was fast. You repeated the process with Watari and brought them over to your place.

You set an alarm to go off one year from today, so you could refill the dose of sleep.

You made your way back to the task force building and instructed Rem to turn the lights back on. Light immediately walked over to you.

Since Light saw real tears, he was under the impression that you didn't know about this part of the plot. He thought he was being sneaky by doing this.

I outsmarted a genius, take that Light

"Y/n, although this wasn't my plan, it's convenient for us." Light said, putting his hand on your shoulder.

You push Light off

"L didn't have to die," you dramatically say.

"But now, you can rule by my side, be the queen of the new world," Light said with no shame.

You looked at him in disbelief before speaking.

"So you'll be the god and I would simply be the queen. Where's the logic in that? " You asked with a laugh.

"Okay then.. Goddess," Light said with a smirk.

"Now I can answer you.. no <3" you say.

"You!-" Light seemed like he was about to argue, but you stopped him.

"It's fine, what's done is done. Don't get Misa involved. " You sigh

"I won't. I plan on breaking up with her soon" Light said with a smile.

Not if she beats you to it.

Time skip a few days:

You stayed in your since L's "death". You appeared really sad, which you were, but you were mostly stressed.

Light seemed to have had enough of your emotional break and went over to your room.

"Y/n, you aren't writing names as fast as you need to. Hurry up" Light confronted you.

"What gives you the right to order me around? I can legit write your whole name down and you can't even put up a fight since I'm stronger." You tell him the truth.

Light widened his eyes before backing up.

"Keep your attitude in check. I'll get started soon. Don't forget you have working hands as well. You're no longer under constant surveillance" You let him know

"Okay" Light obediently nodded.

'She's still missing L, what should I do?' Light thought to himself.

L's funeral preparations were done quickly. For whatever reason, Watari didn't have a funeral.

During L's funeral, Ryuk kept giggling.

Everyone on the task force was at a loss. They couldn't seem to pull themselves together. You weren't an exception.

Flash back:

"Y/n, L had a will he wanted me to give to you." Mr. Yagami spoke

"Really? Since when?" You asked, you knew nothing like this occurred in the anime.

"Yes, he instructed me to give all of his property to you and gave you half of his funds. This was one month ago" Mr Yagami said.

Surprisingly, you started to feel a bit guilty.

I won't spend all of L's money.. or sell his property. I'm sure he wouldn't be okay with this when he wakes up.
