7k thanks + meet the author
I cannot believe this book reached 7k views. Can you imagine how amazing it is? Honestly, I didn't expect this book to reach 1k views. You guys are awesome, and you don't have idea of how much it means to me to know that so many people have read it, whether they enjoyed it or not, just realizing that my book is out there, and that somehow was acknowledged by someone is, in ways I can't possibly put into words, incredible. So, I decided to talk a little about myself too, because, I believe that, by knowing the author, you can understand how much a piece can means to them.
EDIT IN 2021: (i'm now seventeen, turning eighteen in march, lol this is weird) the face reveal part was cut from this chapter for privacy reasons; i hope you've have a somewhat nice/tolerable 2020, and i hope you're able to achieve your dreams in 2021!!
Right now I'm fifteen, but I'm pretty sure I wrote this book when I was thirteen, and I needed to write in English to practice. Along with this line, it is already clear that English is not my mother tongue. Brazilian Portuguese is, and honestly, I'm a much better writer in Portuguese haha. I also speak Spanish, not as fluently as I wish, but enough to communicate properly.
In three years I'll be heading to college, and I intend to go to Film School. I have pretty huge plans, and of course they won't work, but I'm aiming high, because that's how life works. Either ways, I plan to work with movies adapted to blind people (they're a thing, and it's amazing!), and also movies adapted to deaf people to enjoy as well. What I find so beautiful about this art that film is, is that, it's supposed to be an art everyone can be a part of, even if not in person, but everyone should be able to feel/see themselves in it. Much like writing, to be honest. Film is an art you can protest with, you can picture yourself in, you can use to escape everything, and yet, see your own reality represented there. Film is an art anyone should be able to feel themselves in, and that is so incredibly awesome, I fail to put it in words. Yes, I'm all up for diversity, whether in how movies are produced, or in how characters are portrayed on screen. (I'd also like to bring tap dance back to the scene. I fucking love tap dance. Which reminds me, I'm a tap dancer!)
It's amazing for me to see how many people have read this book, and given it some importance. Even if you found it the most horrific, and terribly written thing on this site, I don't bother, (honestly, I was so bad at writing when I've finished it, that calling it an offense to the English language would feel like a compliment), at least you've noticed it somehow.
Writing was, and always will be a passion, no matter what I'm doing, where I am, or in which language I'm doing it. It'll always follow me everywhere I go, and it's all I'll ever leave to this planet, even if it is irrelevant to history. What we write, what we paint, the art we produce is the only legacy one can have in this place, and, even if never noticed by history itself, it's already grateful to know that someone now is noticing it. It doesn't matter what feeling you have towards it, I'm glad you read it, and I'm glad you cared enough about something I did to enjoy it, or despise it.
Thank you so much!
Love,
Liv.
