Chapter 7

"Please you must hurry, her passionate embrace is the perfect time, she will not expect it." the woman told them.

Charles was finally brought back to Marion and he had no visible bruises, yet that is. Marion held him up as Derrick watched Aknat in her room occupying herself with the necklace.

"She could kill me if I sleep with her and you already used that spell on me so couldn't it just bring me back again?" Derrick asked Marion, earning the attention of Charles now.

"The spell from the book of the living?" Charles asked.

"Yes, it's more of a one time spell. I was taught it only for true emergencies, which is what that was." Marion told both the men.

Hearing crashing and cursing coming from Aknat's room, they all figured their time was close to up. They had to do something and fast.

"I'll do it, I'll distract her." Charles volunteered.

"Good man." Derrick saluted Charles.

"What? You can't mean..." Marion started but he shushed her and pushed her behind a curtain where Derrick was also hiding.

The doors to the room burst open. There was the woman who was really becoming a pain in the ass, walked forward and dismissed the men who escorted her. She looked around the room but didn't go to the curtain that Derrick and Marion were hiding behind. Instead she turned Charles.

"Where have they gone?" she asked him in a deadly serious tone.

"Who?"

"That fool of a man and the love of your life, if you valued that life I would suggest telling me where they are." she said, raising her sai.

Marion had a hold of a gold plate and snuck out behind the woman and hit her over the head with it, knocking her out cold on the ground before them. Rushing to her necklace, Marion grabbed the necklace, tossed it on the floor before stomping on it. Everything went white and their surroundings changed.

They were back in the tomb, in their own time period. Marion rushed to the mummy she remembered the woman having but the wrapping had nothing inside of them. Turning back they saw the woman laughing at them but this time she had the other pendant as well. The true pendant.

"You've gotta be kidding me." Charles muttered.

Marion was shackled to a large pole in the middle of the room while Charles and Derrick were forced to be shackled to the wall. None of which were easily escapable. The woman sighed as she brought the necklace up to her eyeline.

"So much work, so much time and so much money for the smallest little trinket in the world. I can send us back again you know, maybe in that time the Pharaoh wouldn't know you." the woman grinned looking at Marion.

"Your deceit lies in your veins, it will be your damnation." Marion replied but this time in ancient Egyptian.

"Ah, remembering the old language. Sadly I do not so whatever you said does not affect me." the woman smiled as she looked over at Charles and Derrick. "Foolish explorers."

A man came up to her and whispered something in her ear, making the woman smile. She walked away from Marion and went right to Charles.

"I hear you are quite the womanizer. So many girls in the world yet you pledge your heart to her?" the woman asked, pointing to Marion. "You too my big dumb brute?"

Closing her eyes, Marion saw men adding what bits of wood they could find around her. They were going to burn her alive. The tears escaped her and rushed down her cheek. There was no way for her to escape. Instead she watched as the woman grabbed a lit torch and came back over to Marion.

"Tell them goodbye, you will never see them again." the woman screamed at Marion.

"No! No!" Charles yelled as he tried to get out of the old shackles.

"Now woman!" the woman screamed again.

"Marion don't please don't say goodbye." Derrick now called out to her.

Marion moved herself up just a little and lifted her body up and wrapped the legs around the woman's throat causing the woman to drop the torch and try to detach Marion's legs from around her neck.

"Shoot her!' the woman tried to call out.

Shots were heard all around but Marion used the woman's body to keep herself protected. After the first dozen, the woman fell to the ground, blood pouring from her wound. Marion pulled as hard as she could on her chains hoping they would break.

As if of their own free will, the shackles around Marion, Charles and Derrick crumbled. They rusted and fell apart. Marion rushed away from the captor and ran right to Derrick and Charles, holding them both close to her.

"Uh, why aren't they shooting us?" Charles asked, confused.

"They're frozen, it looks like. Oh the pendant. Wait..." Marion turned around and saw the pendant was on the ground far away from the woman's body. "How did it get there?"

They went over and picked it up with a cloth from Charles.

"Let's get it out of here, as well as us." Derrick said as they all rushed out.

Turning to make a run out of the tomb, a gunshot went off right beside Marion's head. Turning back she was surprised to see the tan woman was now aiming right at her. Charles searched for his guns as did Derrick but they had forgotten they were unarmed.

"No, you want this fight me for it! Woman to woman!" Marion called out as she put the necklace on. "Winner takes all."

The woman laughed as she started to walk forward. Marion prepared herself and as the woman wound up her fist, Marion kicked her leg up and out knocking the woman back and holding her jaw.

"Come on, you can't be that stupid." Marion said, raising her arms up into a fighting position.

The woman smiled and Marion knew something was up. Barely turning her head she saw Gerald and his men come in and start to fight Charles and Derrick. Back to looking at the woman, Marion had had enough. Grabbing her by the hair and punching her in the face.

"Release them or I swear I will kill you." Marion yelled as she continued to punch the woman.

Gerald held his arm up pausing his men.

"Think you really have the upper hand Marion? I've seen you die before, we can make sure this time stays permanent." Gerald laughs.

Lifting the woman's head to look at Gerald, Marion takes the blade the woman was hiding in her shoe and holds it to the woman's neck.

"You're wasting time Gerald, let them go and I don't slit her throat." Marion threatened.

Both Charles and Derrick had never seen this side of Marion before, she was beyond pissed or angry, she was out for blood. Gerald then held up a device in his hand, it looked like a detonator.

"Then none of us get out of here alive." he said, making direct eye contact with Marion.

Looking at the situation at hand and remembering all the screw ups he had done to lead them to this point. Derrick started taking a lot of deep breaths before biting the hand that held him and taking off right to Gerald. However Gerald was now at the edge of the tomb that had no end.

Derrick had tackled Gerald and now both were about to go over the edge. Marion was headbutted and the knife tossed to the side. Charles also bit his guard, taking his gun and shooting the three men that came in with Gerald. The woman was running to help Gerald as Marion jumped up and tackled her to the ground as well. Wrestling back and forth Charles looked between both men and women unsure which to take aim at. Marion got the woman on the ground and began to choke her. Gerald had managed to get atop of Derrick and was punching him. Unknowing that Derrick had grabbed his knife.

"Get out of here!" Derrick yelled to Marion and Charles as he took the knife and stabbed Gerald right in his heart. "We go down, we go down together asshole."

Gerald's body fell into the gap with Derrick's about to go right down with him. Marion went to rush over and get him with Charles completely uncaring about the woman before. Derrick was barely holding on when both grabbed onto his arms.

"Let me go, I don't deserve to go on." Derrick argued.

"Shut up you moron." Marion said, pulling him up with all of her might.

They had just managed to help him stand up when the woman came out of nowhere and tackled Derrick right back into the gap, this time with no one to get him back up.

"DERRICK!" Both Charles and Marion yelled at the top of their lungs.

Marion and Charles looked over the edge to see if there was a chance he held onto something. Nothing was there, it was deep and dark, no one could have guessed what was down there or if he would have been able to survive the fall.
