Five days have passed since the two parties talked to their members; the pieces of advice and suggestions all still lingered in the back of their minds as they continued on with their day. You can say that, at this point, their relationship is at a standstill. Both of them are quiet; their day offs are no longer used on playing multiplayer games with each other; and no communication whatsoever.
Though, that could change with the help of their companies; on the sixth day, as Jisoo was currently having her breakfast alone, Jennie suddenly waltzed in the room. The older female froze for a second once she saw the brunette; they haven't had a heart-to-heart talk about the younger's little outburst to the dating news.
"After your breakfast, Sajangnim wants you to report to his office." Jennie stated monotonously as she gazes at Jisoo with an uninterested stare. She then turns her heels before walking away; well, she was about to when she suddenly heard the abrupt screeching of the wooden chair and silverware clanking against the glass bowl.
"And after I meet with sajangnim, can we atleast have a talk?" Jisoo asked, her voice sounding a bit soft as she didn't want to come out as desperate to the other female.
There was a long pause after the ravenette's question. The tension around them was heavy, and Jisoo did not like it one bit. She gulped her saliva in anticipation, awaiting for the other's response.
"I have a photoshoot after this, so I probably can't talk to you." And with that being said, Jennie left.
Jisoo stood there for a few seconds before sinking back into her seat. She sighed as she picked up her spoon filled with milk and cereal before shoving it into her mouth. She felt absolutely dejected, however, she wasn't going to give up just yet; she was brewing with determination to fix whatever problems she has with Jennie.
As she scooped up the remains of her cereal, she gives out a satisfied sigh before picking up the bowl and place it in the sink.
Meanwhile, in BTS' dorm; Jungkook was currently working on his video editing skills, a hobby that he recently picked up asides from playing video games. He needed a bit of a breather from the violence and the repeating tapping of the 'W, A, S, D' keys. (Truthfully, he wanted to take a break from thinking about Jisoo; playing video games always reminded him of the female.)
As he adds the final touches to his masterpiece, a soft knock on the door could be heard. Jungkook paid no mind to it as he continued clicking away on his computer. The door slowly creaks open, revealing Namjoon. The leader was still clad in his pajamas as he had just woken up when he was tasked to talk to the younger.
"Hey Kook..." Namjoon says, he voice sounding groggy and tired. He then proceeds to let himself inside the room. Jungkook lets out a short response, acknowledging the man's presence.
"So, Bang PD-nim's asking for your presence in his office." Namjoon crosses his arms before letting out a yawn, he then sits down on one of the chairs before glancing at the younger, "Said something about making an appearance for some interview..." He mumbled.
Jungkook paused in his work before slowly turning his swivel chair to the direction Namjoon was sitting, looking absolutely confused. "And why is he asking for me? Isn't usually manager-nim and you hyung who usually take care of it?"
"Well, I do not want to spoiler man or anything but.." Namjoon paused as he ran his fingers through his hair, "You'll be the only one appearing, not the group."
Jungkook's eyes nearly bulged out of its sockets upon hearing that. Did he hear it correctly? Was he really going to appear on an interview alone?
"What? Why?" He didn't really like the idea of making a solo appearance. After that little variety show fiasco he had during the 'FIRE' promotions, he asked the company to never let him go alone.
"You'll know once you get to the office..." Namjoon muttered, standing up and started walking out of Jungkook's room, leaving the younger absolutely frustrated.
-
"You'll be appearing with Jungkook for an interview."
Jisoo sat there in shock. She didn't know that Yang Hyung-suk was that invested in the fake relationship; she thought that he only agreed to it so that there would be more publicity. She clears her throat, "Uhm... I don't know what to say. Are you sure this is the right move for this moment?"
Yang Hyung-suk nodded, his lips pressed into a thin line. "I already talked with BigHit and they were on board with the idea." He then casually leans against his swivel chair, "You and Jungkook have a lot of chemistry, right?"
Jisoo paused, before she nodded—a hint of uncertainty in her response. With this new understanding of her true feelings towards the male, the female could only hope that she can atleast talk like a normal human being to Jungkook.
"Great. The interview will be tomorrow. Make sure you and your manager will be by the SBS headquarters at around 9:30." Hyung-suk states rather sharply, eyeing the female as he is aware of her slight tardiness. Jisoo nodded again; with that response, the older male quickly dismissed the idol.
-
"What's this about?"
Jungkook was never the type to get mad or annoyed at the company for something so trivial, but something about a solo appearance still ticked him off. After Namjoon had reported the younger about it, boy was he restless. He couldn't think creatively, thus causing him to stop working on his video editing session.
The male entered the office in an abrupt manner; knocking only twice before opening the door in one swift motion. He really wasn't in the mood for this, all he wanted to do was to go back to his room and work on his masterpiece again.
Si-hyuk was sitting on his swivel chair, arms propped on his desk, fingers intertwined with each other. In front of his wooden desk were two leather chairs—one of which was already occupied by his manager, Sejin. The older male could sense that Jungkook wasn't quite happy, so he simply gestured the male to take the empty seat so that they could start talking already.
Jungkook reluctantly took a seat, crossing his arms and putting one leg over the other. He can't wait to politely object whatever variety show Si-hyuk was going to give him; he just isn't ready to be humiliated on national television again.
"You'll be appearing with Jisoo." Si-hyuk simply says, facing Jungkook.
The fiery feeling in his gut quickly disappears upon hearing the female's name. His rather cross look was replaced with a dumbfounded one; his big doe eyes looking at the CEO with anticipation. He slightly leans in, ears eager to listen for whatever his boss had to say.
"SBS contacted both YG and BigHit and asked for you and Jisoo-ssi to come to their headquarters for an interview." Si-hyuk stated, "Now that you've heard that you'll be appearing with her, I take that you'll be more enthusiastic about this appearance, yes?"
Jungkook's cheeks flushed red as he slightly lowers his head. He then nods slowly before discreetly clearing his throat. "Yes sir..." He meekly mumbles.
Out of all the things that could happen to him, it just had to be a 'couple' interview with Jisoo. Perhaps it was the universe telling him to stop being a wuss and take the opportunity to give hints of his feelings for her, because one date with the girl isn't going to take their relationship anywhere. So here it was, the golden opportunity, handed to him in a silver plate.
"Just be yourself during the interview and you'll do great," Si-hyuk smiles warmly at Jungkook, "And don't try to give out your fake relationship... That'll definitely make headlines."
The younger male nods attentively, knowing how the company is really careful with their image.
Later that night
Jungkook continues to click away on his computer, finally putting in the final clips to complete his work. Just as he clicks to save the file, his phone rings from the table situated at the other side of the room. The male mindlessly rolled the swivel chair across the room, before picking up his phone to see who was calling him. To his surprise, it was Jisoo, her bright smile flashing on the screen. He quickly puts the phone down and his heart goes into a mini panic mode.
"Okay Gguk, just talk to her. Don't be nervous, be a normal person." Jungkook then takes a deep breath before answering the call, "Hello?"
"Kookie! Hellooo" Her voice was like music to his ears, especially when she called him by his nickname. Gosh, the boy was about to have a mini heart attack.
"Uh.. Hey Chichu!" He inwardly cringed at his failed attempt at being casual; he now has the urge to throw his phone out the window, "What's up?"
"It's about the SBS interview tomorrow.." Jisoo says. Even if the two weren't video calling each other, Jungkook could sense the enthusiasm in her voice, "I hope that you'll be comfortable with me."
Jungkook's eyebrows furrowed. "What? Why would you say that??"
Jisoo pauses for a moment. "It's just that... I feel like you've grown distant for these past few days."
Jungkook's eyes widened before he furiously shakes his head. "No no no." He says, "You've got it all wrong. I'm glad that you're with me... It's just that, I've been busy."
"Really?" A smile graced Jungkook's lips as he hears the delight in her tone, "Then maybe I was worrying for nothing. Sorry to bother you Kookie!"
"Ah no... It's fine, really." Jungkook then smiles as he hears the girl mumbling softly over the phone—something about how her member, Lisa, seems to be annoying her at this very moment.
"Anyways, I guess I'll end the call now.." Jisoo says as he hears the giggles of her younger member in the background. Jungkook, however, didn't want her to hang up just yet; he had one more thing to say to her.
The 'wise words' of Kim Seokjin echoed in the younger's head, urging him to confess; to just say the words that the girl needs to hear from him. Regardless whether she feels the same or not, Jisoo should know how he really feels about her.
"Chichu, wait." He says. The giggles and bickering at the other line come to a stop, "Hm? What is it Kook?"
"There's something I need to tell you..." Jungkook could feel his heart racing, faster than ever before. The butterflies in his stomach went haywire as he manages utter out the eight letter phrase that he was holding back for God knows how long.
"I love you."
