Several months after the Kurosawa Rebellion, Toshizo walks into the castle and kneels in front of Tokugawa Yoshinobu and speak, "We have captured and sentence Kurosawa Nanobu and his daimyo a death. Kurosawa Takayuki in other hand has vanished from the land, he and his army has yet to be found after the capture of his samurai general. However, the four warrior who breaks the Bushido code got away. They are able to outmatch us and flee from the battlefield..." Yoshinobu, the Japanese Shogun at the year 1866 nods. Yoshinobu sigh and speak "Then order your men to find this runaway as soon as you can. They will not escpae our judgment that easily. Show us why we rule this land Toshizo." Toshizo nods and about to walk away but the Shogun stops him and asks "Tell me about this four warriors Toshizo, how are they like?" Toshizo nods and kneels again "yes my lord..."

Ogawa Miyamoto, is a young man who is a very versatile with the way he uses his blade. He masters the Fū-ryū kenjutsu style that focus on speed and swifts attack although the power in the style is less, it is still proven when fighting multiple opponent. Miyamoto is also a peasant, or a dishonored assassin who calls himself the mercenary warrior that was called the Crow, by the Japanese people. Just like his blade, he is good at sneaking and moving swiftly to avoid creating attention. Miyamoto is also the last remaining person from his Ogawa clan who was slaughtered by the Daimyo who orders samurai clan to murder all of them. However, after being with Koji and Yuriko. Miyamoto was able to find a glimpse of honorable warrior spirit deep inside his heart, and become one of the strongest will warrior in their group.

Kagesama Yuriko, daughter of Kagesama Norio and Kagesama Mikasa, making her the only heir to the Kagesama clan leader. Just like the legendary Tomoe, Yuriko is one of the finest archer in the land. Her tanto blade skills is remarkable, but also very amazing. After finding out about the treachery her mother has committed, Yuriko's honor is suspected to have dies along with her mother. Her father, Kagesama Norio has been granted a warrior's death by Hachi the captain of the samurai force at their fort in Shikoku. The tragedy has given her too, one of the strongest willed warrior in the land.

Hikigaya Sayaka, a spear women that trained with her late uncle, who used to be the Masaharu first in line spearmen. Her skill is formidable with or without the weapon, and it adds to her charm by also having the knowledge to help the wounded. Sayaka is always a kind and warm hearted person, she is good with children and the people. Just her presence is usually enough to brighten someone's day. Although, after the war, Sayaka might has changes since the death of her only family, Hachiman Sensei.

Last but not least, the main branch of the warriors, Masaharu Koji. The last descendant of the clan Masaharu. Koji is well praised by his people by having a kind heart and a strong will to protect everyone from danger. His Kenjutsu skill is also formidable, although without the blade he will be a little weaker. Koji skills in his blade is mostly depending on his strength as his arms is part of his strongest limb. The way his parent dead is nothing but an honorable tragedy, although the death of his Sensei is nothing but a mystery. Mitsuhade has always been his best friend ever since they were a kid. His role in the group is very important, making him the leader of the four warrior. Although Miyamoto is a versatile swordsmen, Koji can find a way to defeat him if he wants to.

Although coming from a different clan and stories, these four are able to work together in defeating a strong enemy like the Kurosawa. And together, four of them called themselves, The Oni. The thunder struck briefly, illuminating a four dark figures, sitting on their horses on top of the Mount Tsurugi hills. The samurai on the front, Koji yells making all four of them kicks their horses, making their horses runs down the hills. Miyamoto lightly reaches down and opens his hand to feel the touch of a soft red flowers. Yuriko smiles on the horse along with Sayaka. The sky thumps with the sound of lighting while the ground thuds with the horse hooves.

They rides through the trees and bushes, until they reach the open lower hills. Koji finally stops the horses and turns to his allies with a smile "We will be doing this as planned. Miyamoto will take the Chugoku region, Sayaka on Kyushu. Yuriko, you take Kanto, while I will be over at Tohoku." Miyamoto smiles, Yuriko chuckles and points at Miyamoto's left eye that is covered with bandages as she ask "How's your eye doing?" Miyamoto groans and rolls his right eye while he answers "Like shit, thanks." Sayaka smiles as she looks at Koji and says "We will do our best Koji..." They all nods at each other and put on their Oni nempo. Koji turns his horse away as he speak again "Several months ago, we ride toward victory with honor... Today, we ride toward the future, for the land!" They all yells their chant before they each kick their horse and rides toward their assigned region.

At the old Kagesama Fortress, the villagers are happily chatting with each other and getting on with their life. Tesso walks over to Hachi and Mitsuhade. They smiles and bow at each other before they sit together and have a tea. Mitsuhade blows on his tea and lightly sips it before he ask "Have you ever heard from them?" Hachi shrugs, Tesso sigh and answers "Last I know is that they flee from the battlefield. But that is what the Shogun wants us to believe." Hachi nods as he drinks "Well, good thing is that beautiful Tomoe is finally able to live peacefully with her husband at Matsushige, your wife Tesso, had a proper burial. And our people is happy." Tesso smiles and nods before he speak "But I wonder what really happened to them, the Oni." Mitsuhade answers "Whatever happens, I hope they are well... Takayuki is still out there, maybe they are hunting for him." Hachi put down his bamboo cup and speak "That will be a waste of time, but that is totally up to them... For us, what we have to do is protect the smile on these peoples..." All three of them turns toward the happy villagers. Tesso then speak "And believe the Oni." Hachi smiles and they continue to chatter happily. The tale of the four warriors might end for now, but it is not the finale of them. For whatever danger awaits in the future, the Oni will always be in up the mountain, preparing to defend the people of their land. With, or without honor.
