하나 | bunny pt.1

It was a beautiful afternoon for a walk; the clouds swayed beneath the bright blue sky as cars rushed on the busy roads whilst the burning sun shot rays of sunlight on the heaps of people passing by. It was just an ordinary day for Jeongguk and his son.

They were strolling around the peaceful neighbourhood at around 1pm. The both of them had originally planned to go to the park close by but Jeongguk's son, Jisung, begged to walk around the "pretty houses". The adorable 4 year old was dragging along a fluffy brown bunny that was barely intact. Of course, Jeongguk has tried stitching the poor bunny back together but it was such a tedious job that the stitching would always come undone.. However, Jisung didn't mind as much as any other child would've. It was his prized possession and was his only sense of comfort other than his father; he generally wasn't allowed many toys as Jeongguk barely managed to pay the taxes and such but he was atleast grateful he had one toy to play with. Jeongguk never liked the idea of his child growing up without any riches but he hoped his hard work and love was enough for him.

'I need a new job soon.. this one isn't paying as much as I thought,' Jeongguk silently thought to himself. He seriously needed to find one that would pay enough to cover the rent fee but considering he had a young child at hand, he didn't know what to do. 'Maybe a daycare? No, no, I don't want to leave him alone with some rancid kids. Hmm.. maybe a babysitter? I don't know anyone I could trust to be alone with him but I guess that would be ideal. Oh well, I'll just think about it later'

Jisung suddenly pulled on Jeongguk's sleeve as a sign to stop walking. They were in front of the shopping centre that they regularly went to. "Daddy can we buy new shoes?" Jisung slurred. He had been wearing the same shoes for 2 years and they were beginning to look roughed up. Jeongguk contemplated whether or not he should buy his son a pair of new shoes but he figured it was about time. He saved enough money for at least a pair of £15 shoes so he guessed it was alright just this one time. "Okay Jisung baby, let's go get you some new shoes!"

Jeongguk slowly walked towards the shoe shop while Jisung happily skipped besides him. He secretly hoped that the shoes his son would pick were nothing too expensive otherwise he was doomed. As they were walking into the shop, Jisung had already ran to a pair of shoes his eyes laid on. They were a pair of Adidas trainers and surprisingly, they were cheap! The trainers were a pretty army green and forest green with white soles. There was a velcro strap which meant there were no shoe laces needed to do, so that was a plus. Thankfully the shoes were just £12 so Jeongguk quickly helped Jisung try them on before paying for them.

As soon as they walked out of the shop, Jisung stood on his tiptoes to give his father a kiss on the cheek. "Thank you daddy, I love you!" He exclaimed in a childish undertone. Jeongguk answered back with an, "Anytime baby, I love you too." If you thought it couldn't get any cuter, the child took ahold of his fluffy bunny and brought it up to a Jeongguk's cheek. The boy made a kissing sound and shouted, "Bunny loves you too daddy!" Jeongguk couldn't believe he raised such a sweet little boy even without the help of a partner. It was so unreal but he never took his child's love for granted. His cheeks were painted a rosy pink and whispered, "Daddy loves bunny too."

The two of them walked back home to have some lunch as it was around 2:15pm by the time their little spree for shoes ended. They soon arrived at the front door of their 2-floor house which was more than enough for the family of two. Jeongguk quickly searched around for his keys in the front pocket of his hoodie and unlocked the door in a hurry. Jisung soon followed after him and ran inside to take his worn out shoes off. The elder put the box of Jisung's brand new pair of shoes on the table in the centre of the living room and slumped his body on the black sofa. It was relaxing after having such a fun time outside with his son. He never imagined to enjoy going out as much as he just discovered!

It was all thanks to his son in all honesty, the boy made anything and everything better for Jeongguk. The boy was his little ray of sunshine and was literally the only thing holding him together at this point. You may be thinking, what happened to the other parent? Well, the woman Jeongguk was previously with decided it was a good idea to drop off her 3 week old baby outside of his door with a note saying 'Take this rat, I don't want to care for him so you might aswell do just that. Oh yeah also, we're over. Don't even think of contacting me - Chaewon'. So yeah, that's basically what happened. Jeongguk is just glad his son didn't turn out to be a brat and gained a soft plus nurturing personality. He wonders where he gets it from but it's not something to fret over so he just let his mind wander off to other things.

The first thing he thought of was, 'Oh yeah the babysitter..' It would be hard to find someone he could trust enough to look after his child but he was determined to find the perfect one. After all, he wasn't a Jeon for nothing! 'I don't know how to find one though, that's the problem. Hm, maybe I should ask joon-hyung? He would definitely know how to find one since he has 3 kids of his own' Oh yeah, for those asking who joon-hyung is, that's just Jeongguk's high school friend, Namjoon, that he's kept in touch with. They've been friends for years and have always been close with one-another. The poor 21 year old tried thinking for other ways of finding a babysitter but that was all he could think of at the moment. For now, he'll ask Namjoon about it later when Jisung is having a nap. 'Yeah that's a good idea, great going Jeongguk.'
