Oneshot #1 ~ Sokeefe
"Hey Foster!" Keefe yelled, running up to Sophie like a toddler.
Sophie giggled, "What, Keefe?"
"It's snowing, Foster! It's snowing!" Keefe shouted.
"Snowing? Really?" Sophie opened the windows wide and peeked outside. There were beautiful white flakes falling from the sky and it looked like a winter wonderland. Sophie gasped as she hugged herself tight to protect herself from the crisp chilly winter air.
"See Foster, I told you!" Keefe smiled, like a little kid.
Sophie smilied. Keefe was adorable when he made his puppy dog eyes. "Can we please go outside and play in the snow?"
"Fine, Keefe. Let's go!" Sophie exclaimed. She hadn't seen snow in so long it felt amazing for it to be back again. She remembered the time when she had a snowball fight with her little sister, Amy. Amy had won and Sophie was left on the snow freezing to death. After that, her mother had made her and Amy some warm, toasty hot chocolate. Sophie smiled at the happy memory.
Sophie raced across the room to get her snowpants, jacket, hat, scarf, mittens, warm socks and boots. Her snowpants were blue in color and two sizes too big for her but Sophie liked them that way. They were warm and protected the snow from coming inside her socks and boots.
"Are you ready, Keefe?" Sophie asked, smiling. They both were bundled up and ready to go.
"Of course, I'm ready!" Keefe smirked, pumping his fist in the air.
Sophie grinned. "Race you to the tree!" She sprinted off.
"Hey!" Keefe whined, taking off after her. "Not fair, Foster. Not fair."
"Just because I'm faster doesn't mean that the race isn't fair," Sophie said smugly. She ran as fast as she could in the snow and touched the tree before Keefe. "I win!"
Keefe was there a second later. "Cheater, cheater, pumpkin eater!"
"I didn't cheat," Sophie protested.
"Of course you didn't, Foster!" Keefe smirked as he pushed her onto the snow.
"Keefe," Sophie warned, getting up. There was snow all over her face. Sophie shuddered. She grabbed some snow in her hand and made a strong ball, she whipped it at Keefe.
Keefe blocked the ball using his hands. He made a snowball and threw it towards Sophie's face. Sophie ducked just in time as the snowball whizzed above her head.
"It's on, Keefe." Sophie said, couching down to make a pile of snowballs. Keefe did the same.
Suddenly, Sophie felt something hit her head. She turned around to Keefe standing there with a huge pile of snowballs.
"Ahhhhhhhh!" Sophie screamed, running for her life. After all, she was running from scary, slippery snowball monsters and a scary snowball monster leader! Keefe chased after Sophie as they ran past endless snowmen and snow forts.
"I'll just keep running," Sophie informed Keefe.
"And I'll just keep running until you turn back into your normal clumsy self," Keefe yelled back to her. Sophie could literally hear him smirk from where she was.
"Ouch," Sophie groaned, tripping over her own feet. She felt her face in the cold snow again.
"Need some help here?" Keefe asked, leaning really close to her face.
"No," Sophie replied, her face felt like it was on fire. It probably was.
"So I don't even get a thank you for asking that?" Keefe pouted sadly.
"Thank you!" Sophie whispered gratefully. A small blush crept past her cheeks.
"No problem at all," Keefe whispered. "Anything for my Foster!"
Sophie blushed even brighter. "Thank you, Keefe. For being there for me every single time."
"Like I said, anything for my Foster!" Keefe smiled. Wrapping Sophie in a hug. Sophie rested her head on Keefe's shoulders. Keefe took this as a chance to throw a snowball at her.
"Keefe!" Sophie exclaimed, shaking her head to get the snow out of her hair. "I take back everything nice I said about you."
"But- but-" Keefe pouted. "Fine, I'll stop."
"Good," Sophie smiled softly. "Why don't we go sledding now?" Keefe got up and pulled Sophie to her feet.
"Okay, Foster!" Keefe grinned slowly.
"Hopefully you don't have any plans for us to fall," Sophie said.
"Of course I have plans, who do you even think I am?" Keefe asked, challenging her.
"I think you're Keefe Sencen." Sophie told him.
"That's it! Not the Great Keefe Sencen, president of pranks?" he asked.
"Fine, Great Keefe Sencen, president of pranks?" Sophie pretended to bow but since she was wearing all this winter gear it looked like a weird dance move.
"If you're trying to dance it's not working, Foster!" Keefe smirked, pulling Sophie gently into his arms. "This is how you dance."
Keefe smirked as Sophie tried to follow his steps. She looked like a chicken trying to do ballet.
"No, no no!" Keefe said, putting his hands on Sophie's shoulders. "You go like this."
"Keefe, let's go sledding now. I don't need dancing lessons!" Sophie told him.
"Fine but don't blame me if we fall." Keefe mumbled. Sophie laughed and pulled him gently in the car.
. . .
"We're here!" Sophie said, jumping out of the car. Keefe grabbed Sophie's favorite light brown sled and followed Sophie up the hill.
"I think this hill is too big," Keefe whispered, looking anywhere but Sophie.
"Is the great Keefe Sencen scared?" Sophie asked, teasingly.
"I've never been sledding before," Keefe whispered.
"There's nothing to be ashamed about," Sophie took his hand.
"Okay, if you say so!" Keefe let go of Sophie's hand and ran up the hill. Sophie followed him, giggling at his boost of confidence.
"You can sit in the front," Keefe suggested.
"Okay, scaredy cat!" Sophie giggled when Keefe's smile fell. "But just to let you know the back controls the direction."
"Um. . . okay?" Keefe asked.
Sophie felt the need to explain, "If you lean left the sled will go right and if you lean right the sled will go left. And if you keep your weight in the middle the sled will go straight."
"I got it!" Keefe said. Once they were both seated they went flying down the hill.
"Keefe, turn left!" Sophie yelled. There was an old woman walking up the hill with a baby. Keefe safely turned left and led them away from the old woman and baby.
"Keefe, right!" Sophie yelled. "No, left!"
Keefe leaned both directions and the sled went sailing, throwing them both on top of each other.
"Keefe!" Sophie exclaimed.
"Foster, what?" Keefe asked innocently.
"You leaned both ways!" Sophie accused.
"No, I didn't!" Keefe protested.
A slim man walked up to them with their sled. "Your sled hit me right in the face."
"We're so sorry, it's his first time sledding." Sophie told the man.
"That's perfectly fine, kids." the man replied. "Names?"
"I'm Sophie. He's Keefe." Sophie pointed out.
"Cute, I'm Carlos." the ma- Carlos said.
"Uh- thanks?" it came out as a question.
Carlos laughed. "Cute couple you both are."
"Couple?" Sophie gaped at Carlos.
"Yeah, we're a couple." Keefe interrupted.
"Ke- Keefe?" Sophie blushed like crazy. "We're not actually."
"I'll let you two be for now!" Carlos grinned as he walked further up the hill.
Once he left Keefe spoke up, "I- I- let's go back up the hill."
"Okay," Sophie said, trying not to be nervous. She looked into Keefe's ice blue eyes. Which was a mistake because they pulled her in like a charm.
"Are you staring, Foster?" Keefe asked.
"N- No," Sophie stuttered.
"Oh, you were staring," Keefe smirked. "I'm pretty hot right?"
"Yeah." Sophie breathed, blushing red.
"Thank you, thank you!" Keefe grinned. "Sledding already got boring, come on. Let's get hot chocolate."
"Keefe," Sophie exclaimed. "We just started sledding!"
"So what? I'm bored, Foster." Keefe groaned.
"Fine, Keefe." Sophie said, pulling him back towards the car.
"You two are already done?" Carlos asked them.
"Someone got bored already." Sophie said, smiling.
"Oh," Carlos laughed. "See you."
Sophie waved, dragging Keefe inside.
"Hot Chocolate! Hot Chocolate! Hot Chocolate!" Keefe started screaming.
"Keefe, shut up, will you?" Sophie couldn't even drive when Keefe was shouting like an animal.
"Fine, Foster." Keefe replied. "Where are we heading, Miss. driver?"
"To my favorite hot chocolate store," Sophie smiled.
. . .
"Come on, Keefe!" Sophie got out of the car and walked into the small shop.
"Welcome to Hot Chocoland! My name is-" a tall girl started.
"Sadie Silvers and I welcome you to my mother's shop. What will you want to order today?" Sophie finished for her, grinning.
Sadie laughed, "Well, I guess I say that everytime! Who have you brought this time?"
"My friend." Sophie replied, rolling her eyes.
"Just a friend?" Sadie raised her eyebrows as she winked.
"Yeah a friend," Sophie's face flushed.
Sadie gave Keefe a look, "Friends with the great Sophie Foster, huh?"
"Yep," Keefe replied, popping the p.
"Well, have a seat. I'll bring you both Sophie's favorite hot chocolate made here!" Sadie told them, scurrying off.
"Sit, Foster." Keefe commanded.
"No, I usually sit outside after Sadie brings my cup." Sophie told him.
"Oh," Keefe said.
"Here you both are!" Sadie handed them their cups and ran off again. They both took their cups outside after Keefe paid for both their drinks.
"How is it, Keefe?" Sophie asked him. "Do you like it?"
"It's amazing!" Keefe slurped his hot chocolate with big gulps.
Sophie smilied. She set her hot cocoa cup with extra whipped cream down on the table and leaned her head on Keefe's shoulder. "I'm glad you like it." Keefe smiled and so did Sophie.
"I love you, Foster, did I ever tell you that?" Keefe asked.
"No, Keefe. You haven't." Sophie blushed crimson red.
"Well. . ." Keefe waited, his smirk started to fade off.
Sophie looked at him confused, "What?"
"Nothing," Keefe frowned, muttering something about oblivious girls.
"Oh," and then it dawned on her. "I love you too, Keefe!"
"I didn't think that would happen forever, Miss. Oblivious." Keefe teased, finally happy with Sophie.
Sophie smiled, "It just did." Then, Sophie leaned in even closer and kissed Keefe.
