He Deserves a Prince
I'm obsessed with the live action Aladdin okay? don't judge me
"You know you're fucking the prince right?"
Thomas jumped as a girl appeared behind him, crossing her arms and leaning against the door frame. "You scared the shit out of me Teresa!"
The girl shrugged. "Sorry, I just needed you to be aware that you're literally jamming your dick into our prince."
Thomas felt his face twist up in confusion. "What are you talking about?"
"That boy...what's his name? Newt?"
Thomas smiled softly then. Yes, Newt. He met Newt in the streets a few weeks ago, he was cute and blonde and had warm brown eyes. Thomas was kinda smitten. He made every excuse to see him though and they'd spent a lot of time together. He even once almost built up the courage to kiss him. "What about Newt?"
Teresa shook her head, smacking her palm to her forehead. "You're so stupid sometimes Tom."
"Did you come up here just to confuse me or are you going to tell me what you're talking about?"
"You really think someone's mom would name them Newt? Come on Tom. He never takes off that stupid baggy shirt and he's always strangly clean. Also, you don't find it the least bit weird that he always has to leave at certain times?"
"You think Newt is prince Issac?"
Teresa nodded. "He is prince Issac."
"And I'm not fucking him!" Thomas felt his face heating up again. "We just...hangout."
Teresa rolled her eyes. "Okay, whatever, but still. Newt is prince Issac, end of story."
Thomas looked at her in complete and utter disbelief. "No, you're wrong he-he wouldn't-" Thomas frowned as he trailed off.
Teresa's face softened. "Tom, all because he's royalty doesn't make him incapable of loving you."
Thomas scoffed. "Please, if he was actually a prince, he wouldn't even look in my direction."
"Stop that." Teresa crossed her arms tighter across her chest. "He's clearly into you...I'm just saying, be careful. I don't want you to get hurt when he can't see you anymore."
"Okay," Thomas said softly as he looked down at his lap. He hated when Teresa was right.
"I'll leave you alone."
"Hey T?"
"Yeah Tom?"
"Do you think if Newt was born poor too, me and him might have worked out?"
Teresa smiled sadly at her brother. "I think you too are perfect for each other."
"He's uh-" Thomas looked out the window. "Uh, he's waiting for me."
"Be careful," Teresa said before she turned and left.
Thomas let out a breath, running his fingers through his hair before hopping out the window and onto the street.
Newt and he always met in the same place, a small secluded place on the outskirts of the city. Thomas got there late this time, skidding to a halt when he saw the blonde boy.
"You're late," the boy smirked as he pushed off the wall.
Thomas felt his heart skip a beat. "Yeah sorry-my sister-"
Newt waved his hand to silence him. "Doesn't matter, you're here now."
Thomas hesitated. "C-can I ask you something?"
Newt cocked his head slightly. "Meaning as we usually just sit here and talk while I watch painfully as you try and build up the courage to kiss me, I'd say it's appropriate."
Thomas' cheeks flushed. "I-I wasn't trying to kiss..." Thomas let out a breath, feeling humiliation spike in his chest. "Sorry."
Newt lightly grabbed his arm. "Tommy, you're stupid if you think I wouldn't want to kiss you." When Thomas smiled at that, Newt let his hand trail down and intertwined their fingers. "What did you want to ask me?"
Thomas blinked down at their hands. Newt had never been this forward with him.
"Why are you holding my hand?"
Newt snorted out a laugh. "Okay listen Tommy, I knew you'd figure it out sooner or later, and I'm guessing that's what you wanted to ask me about so it's not or never right?"
"I-I wasn't going to ask if you were into me."
Now it was Newt's turn to look confused. "Really?"
"I was gonna ask when you were going to tell me that you're the prince."
Thomas had never seen Newt looked shocked before that moment.
"How did you-"
"Figure it out? I didn't, my sister did."
Newt looked ashamed as he looked down at his feet. "It makes sense to me but it might not to you."
"Try me."
"Sometimes I like to go out into the city, pretend that I'm normal. I didn't do it that often, until I met you. When I'm with you, I don't feel like royalty, I feel like a normal teenage boy with a massive crush on a cute boy. When I thought of you my palms would get sweaty and I'd smile for no reason. It felt so normal, so mundane and I craved it. When you looked at me, you didn't think of me as Prince Issac, you thought of me as Newt the normal boy and I knew that you liked me because I was me, not because of who my parents are. I craved seeing you at night because you made me feel normal, feel real."
Thomas took a careful step back. "S-so you are the prince?" The panic hit him then. "Oh my god I called you a bitch. I-I picked you up and I-I pushed you in the mud. Are you gonna kill me?"
Newt sighed. "Did you not listen to a thing I just said? Tommy, I like that you do those things. You don't fuckin, bow when you see me or give me gifts. You tease me and...it's different because it's real."
"You could have told me earlier," Thomas said as he frowned. "You should have told me earlier."
"Why?"
"Because I'm obsessed with you and I can't even be with you."
"Why can't you be with me?"
Thomas rolled his eyes. "Because you're prince Issac and I'm a dirt poor city boy who steals to eat. There's no way I'd even be allowed near the castle, let alone near you."
"You're near me now." Newt crossed his arms across his chest.
"That's because no one knows!"
Newt rolled his eyes. "And this is exactly why I didn't tell you."
"You set me up to get my heart broken."
Newt shook his head. "You stupid stupid boy." He grabbed Thomas' shirt then, pulling him forward and pressing their lips together.
Thomas felt his eyes widen, Newt was kissing him. He finally reacted, carefully putting his hands on Newt's waist and kissing him back as his eyes fluttered closed.
"You're cute," Thomas whispered as Newt pulled back.
The prince snorted out a laugh. "That's all you have to say?"
"I've been dying to tell you that for weeks, I feel like I'm finally allowed to."
Newt smiled as he cupped Thomas' face in his hands. "Anything else you've been dying to tell me?"
"I like you, a lot."
Newt's smile widened. "Funny, I feel the same about you."
"I just got kissed by the prince," Thomas said as he tightened his hold on Newt's hips.
The blonde boy laughed. "Good observation."
"Why didn't you kiss me sooner? If it was so obvious that I liked you?"
Newt shrugged. "Guess I was nervous too."
Thomas took a step back and dramatically bowed. "Would your highness be interested in going on a walk with me?"
Newt pushed him. "Quit it with that shit."
Thomas fake gasped. "Who knew royalty had such a dirty mouth."
That got him an eye roll which Thomas laughed at.
"Will you wear some of those pretty robes for me?"
"I'm literally going to have you arrested." Newt scowled as Thomas laughed and wrapped his arms around his waist.
"Let me tease you while I still can."
Newt scrunched his face up in confusion. "What do you mean by that?"
"You're the prince, you can't date me and you know that. Someday this has to end."
Newt frowned. "This has to end my ass, all the guards in the castle couldn't get me to stop seeing you."
Thomas smiled, pulling the blonde boy closer to him. "Well aren't you cheesy?"
"For you, yeah."
"Do your parents know you're here?"
Newt snorted out a laugh. "Please, they'd kill me if they knew I even left, let alone left to see a boy."
"How do you manage to sneak out so much?"
Newt smirked. "That's my secret, plus I have motivation."
"You could have anyone," Thomas said as he brought their faces closer together. "You have people traveling miles to try and marry you, people who own exotic animals, gold and jewels and you chose to mess around with a poor boy in the streets. Why?"
"Because that poor boy in the streets tends to be cute." Newt smiled as he let his hands rest on Thomas' chest. "And because that poor boy likes Newt, not prince Issac."
"Why pick the name Newt?"
He shrugged. "Why not?"
"Can I kiss you?"
"Finally brave enough to do that huh?"
Thomas nodded before pressing their lips together again. He could get used to it, he could get used to kissing the blonde boy. He was small, but he fit well in Thomas' arms.
"Prince Issac sounds kinda hot," Thomas said when he pulled back which made Newt smack his arm.
"Shut up, don't ever call me that again."
Thomas pouted.
"Stop that." Newt gently poked his cheek. "You're the only person in the entire world that gets to call me Newt."
Thomas felt his heart lighten at that. "Okay."
Newt patted his cheek before gently pressing a kiss to his lips. "I have to go now pretty boy."
Thomas frowned instinctively. "Okay."
"I'll see you tomorrow?" Newt asked, almost skeptically.
"Only if you promise to kiss me some more."
The prince grinned as he nodded. "I'd love to."
"Goodnight!" Thomas called as Newt started walking away.
The blonde boy waved over his shoulder as he disappeared, going back to his big fancy castle.
Thomas sprinted through the streets, accidentally ramming into someone and apologizing profusely as he stood up and kept running. When he found the girl he was looking for, he jumped on her, startling her awake.
"Tom what the fuck?!"
Thomas was grinning so wide it was almost painful. "I'm dating the prince."
