After Himiko saw how well her cat spell worked, she decided to do something similar to get Kiyotaka and Mondo together.

Except, she does something wrong and instead of a cat, Mondo is now a golden retriever.

Kiyotaka had been sitting at his desk for far too long in my opinion.

  I mean, come on! He'd been working on-whatever he was doing since he came back!

   'You need to take a break Kiyotaka!' I tried to tell him, but it only came out as a series of barks. He turned his head to face me and frowned.

"What's wrong Mondo?" He asked. "Are you hungry? Let me finish my work and then I'll get you some more food."

If I could have frowned, I would have then. So I opted for the more-forceful-route. I jumped up and, careful as to not to hurt him, I grabbed his forearm in my mouth, then yanked him out of the chair.

"Whoa-what is wrong with you? I need to finish my work!" He exclaimed as I dragged him to the front door. I kept a firm eye on him as I picked up my leash in my mouth.

  Thankfully, he was quick to decipher what I wanted.

  "Oh, you'd like to go on a walk," he chuckled. "Okay buddy, we'll go on a walk. But you need to behave."

   'Does he really think I won't behave? Does he know what I had to do to get him from that desk? OF COURSE I'M GONNA BEHAVE!'

  He clipped the leash onto my collar-a pain to wear, but if it got Kiyotaka out of the house, I'd get over it.

  "Okay, we're good," Kiyotaka murmured before opening his door.

     My tail was wagging a mile a minute, which, admittedly, freaked me out every time I saw it.

  "Mondo, that's just your tail!" Kiyotaka laughed as I barked at it yet again. "There is no need to bark at your own body."

   I let out a low whine at that, saddened that I had gotten myself scolded. Hopefully it wouldn't take us back to his dorm.

   "I've always enjoyed taking walks on August 31," he smiled, glancing around at world around him. "It's so...calm? I don't know how to describe it."

  His words froze me where I stood. The 31? That was his birthday! Even worse, I couldn't give him the big birthday surprise I wanted to! How could things get any worse than this?

  "Hm? Mondo, are you alright?" Kiyotaka asked, noticing my stillness.

    I shook my head and like that, I was able to walk again. This time, however, instead of walking ahead, I walked right next to him.

  That is, until I saw a fetch-worthy stick and got struck by lightening-figuratively of course.

   "Mondo, where are you going?" He yelped as I dragged him towards the perfect stick. "We have to get back to the dorm!"

    I, of course, had other plans, and slowed down to pick the stick up. Carefully, I dropped it at his feet, sat down, and wagged my tail.

   "We don't have time to play games..." he started to mutter. When he made no movement to pick the stick up, I decided to try to pull on some puppy dog eyes. It's easier said than done. "...but I guess you've earned it."

   Oh sure, he was a stiff stick thrower at first, but I was able to help him relax a bit more. We-well, him, I guess, ended up loosing track of time.

   "Mondo," he laughed, "I think we should try to get home before it's completely dark outside."

   I happily, yet tiredly, trotted back to his dorm, proud of what I had accomplished. When we got there, a small looking girl with a wide brimmed hat was slouching on the floor besides the door, asleep. I nudged her leg with my nose, and she quickly woke up.

  "Nyeh? Oh hey," she said tiredly. "I was restoring my magical energy. I came to restore Mondo to his proper form."

  'Yes! Yes yes yes yes yes! I can finally give Kiyotaka the birthday party he deserves, and I can tell him how much I love him all the time, and I can eat chocolate ice cream again...'

   "Thank you Miss Yumeno!" Kiyotaka said, bowing in gratitude.

  "It's all my pleasure. A mage's greatest joy comes from doing magic ya know.." she murmured. With a few waves of her hand and some gibberish, she blasted me with yet another spell.

  Yay, I had a human body again! S—-, my head hurts like hell though.

   "Now that my job is done, I'm going to get some sleep," Yumeno yawned as she walked away.

   "It is good to see you again Mondo!" Kiyotaka exclaimed, making me wince slightly.

   "Good to see you too, bro," I grinned. "Happy birthday."

    "Thank you, but now we've got to get to work. You did miss a lot of schoolwork while you were a dog."

   "You've done a lot of working, and not enough relaxing," I retorted. "We're taking a break from working."

   "But we already took a break!"

   "It's your birthday. I'm begging you, please f—-ing relax for once."

   "But..."

  "Relax."

  "We..."

  "Relax."

  "....fine...."

  I smirked, knowing my victory was assured, and hugged him from behind, making him blush bright red, which was f—-ing adorable. "Oops, looks like I'm slipping!" I laughed as I pretended to fall onto the couch. As a result, he had ended up on my lap, which I didn't mind at all.

   We sat there in silence for several heartbeats, both of us probably blushing like we were cherries. When I couldn't stand it any longer, I took a breath and did what I couldn't express with words.

   I kissed my bro, my crush, my friend. He squeaked out of surprise but relaxed into it, and honest to whatever beings are out there, it was the best decision of my life.

   Yes, it was worth being a dog for two weeks.

Anyways, so you may have noticed that as a dog, Mondo doesn't cuss.

I have a headcanon that Mondo makes an effort to minimize swearing around Kiyotaka, and since he wanted to be on his best behavior during the walk, he did his best not to cuss.

Of course, he definitely did again when he was human, but hey, it's Mondo.
