Ishimaru was...well, annoyed would be a huge understatement. The new kid, Y/N L/N, was the worst person he had ever met! No morales whatsoever! No matter how many times he gave them detention or a referral, they always went back to the same behavior!
He knew that Leon didn't give the best advice at times, but what else could he do? He was running out of options.
He caught up to Leon on his way to history class, and used this time to request assistance.
"Wait, dude, are you sure you don't like this dude/dudette?" The red-haired baseball star in question asked. Instantly, Kiyotaka's cheeks flushed.
"What? No! Who would give you that sort of idea!" He protested.
"You did," Leon shrugged. "You're obsessed with getting them to follow the rules and you complain about them all the time. Dude, you like her."
"No, I don't, they just infuriate me with their complete lack of morals!"
"Yeah, sure, whatever you say."
"Agh! Are you going to help, or not?"
"Fine. Next time you see them acting up, pin them against the wall."
"Um, how's that supposed to help?"
"You'll see."
Leon grinned as he walked off, thinking about all the possible scenarios he may have sparked. One of them may have included getting Y/N and Kiyotaka together.
~it's a lil time skip to after school~
Y/N's
"Whoever invented B/T deserves to be honored," Y/N hummed as they happily scarfed down a B/T. Once they had swallowed the whole treat, they glanced up at the sound of the doors opening.
Their table in the quiet bakery had a good view of those coming in and out, and they caught themselves hoping a certain black-haired and red-eyed male would walk through.
"Why on earth do I like Kiyotaka?" They thought to themselves. "I mean, honestly, he's...he's nothing like Ex/B/N..."
"No!" They accidentally exclaimed aloud, attracting the attention of what seemed like the entire bakery. Their face heated up in embarrassment, and they quickly ducked out of the bakery. herself
"Oh great, it's raining," they groaned, cursing themselves for not checking the weather at any point during the day. "Well, my house is only like, 30 minutes away. I can make it that far!"
By the time five minutes had passed, Y/N was soaked to the bone. The rain seemed to increase with every second, and Y/N was looking for any reason to get out of it.
"Maybe I can duck into the next store," they muttered, crossing their arms across their chest in a feeble attempt to keep warm.
They had been splashed by many vehicles, so when they heard a motor of a motorcycle approaching her, they barely glanced in it's direction. They did, eventually, stop when they heard their name.
"Y/N? F****, what are you doing in this storm?"
"Um, walking home, apparently, what about you Mondo?" They replied, trying to disguise their shivering.
"S***, Kiyotaka wanted to know if you were okay. I only managed to calm him the f**** down by getting on my motorcycle."
'Wait...he was worried about me?'
"Other than being caught in the pouring rain, I'm okay," Y/N shivered.
"Well, f****, can I drop you off at your f****ing house or some s***?"
"Um, sure? My address is (insert address)."
And that's how you, dear reader, got out of the rain.
~timeskip to your house. Mondo has dropped you off~
"Oh Y/N! There you are!" Y/N's mother exclaimed. "I was about to go out to find you. Why haven't you responded to any of my calls or texts?"
Y/N pulled out their phone and attempted to power it on. Key word being attempted.
"My phone must have died. Sorry mom."
"Now now, never mind that. I'm just glad you were able to make it home safely."
"Yeah, me too mom. Me too."
"What are you standing around for? Go get yourself warmed up. Your schoolwork can wait a little longer."
Y/N grinned at the thought of fluffy pajamas and quickly dashed upstairs to get themselves dried off and warm.
They rummaged through her closet, looking for their fluffy (animal of your choice) pajamas. Once she had found her pajamas, she went to turn away, until a baseball cap caught her eye.
(This is what the baseball cap looks like. My grandfather got it during a golf tournament in Hawaii, and I got it after he passed away. For this story, the reader got it from her father.)
"Dad's old baseball cap..." Y/N gasped, tears pricking at her eyes. Slowly, tenderly, she picked it up.
"Y/N? Are you okay? I've got hot chocolate for you," their mom commented from the other side of their door.
"You can come in mom!" Y/N called, after they placed the cap on their head.
Y/N's mom teared up when she saw her husband's old cap. Both Y/N and their mom still felt the loss of their father, who had died in a car accident two years ago.
"His cap looks good on you," Y/N's mom smiled. "I think it's been waiting for a chance to be worn again."
"Yeah, I suppose it has," Y/N agreed. "When the weather is good, I'll wear it to school."
"Speaking of school, I've gotten a lot of calls about you being in detention. Want to talk about it?"
"No, not really," Y/N mumbled, looking at their feet.
"The principal told me that you've been skipping your classes and getting into fights. Is this true?"
Y/N sighed, drawing her knees to their chest. "They deserved it. The class was boring, I'd be surprised if everyone else stayed."
Y/N's mom wrapped Y/N in a hug. "What did those kids do to deserve a fight?"
"They...they said that I'm a troubled kid and that my father would be ashamed of me," Y/N sighed.
Y/N's mom went quiet for a moment. When she finally spoke, her words were slow, and carefully chosen. "Y/N, your father would never be ashamed of you. Neither could I. What those kids said was wrong. I'll talk to the principal about that tomorrow. However, you shouldn't have fought them."
"I know that mom. It's just...it's just that his death anniversary was today. I got a little more sensitive about his death today."
"I know you miss him sweetheart, and so do I. But it's late, and you need your sleep. I'll see you in the morning."
"Goodnight mom."
"Goodnight Y/N."
~timeskip, next day at school~
Y/N walked into home room about 15 minutes after class had started. They barely glanced at the teacher before sitting at their seat.
"How kind of you to join us, Y/N," the teacher called. "Perhaps you can tell the whole class why you're late?"
Y/N clenched their fists, not wanting to say that they'd been in a cemetery, cleaning their father's grave. "It's none of your damn business," they said through gritted teeth.
"Ah, but I believe it is my business. So, do tell the class where you've been."
"And if I don't?"
"You'll be cleaning this classroom up. By the way, take your cap off or I'll take it from you."
"Lemme think about it," Y/N said, grabbing their bag and standing up. "No."
With that, they bolted out of the classroom. After they had ducked past a couple of corners, they leaned against a wall to catch their breath.
"Hey! You should be in class right now!"
"I'm not in the mood to deal with Kiyotaka right now..."
"Does it look like I care?" Y/N grumbled, turning away from Kiyotaka, who had suddenly remembered Leon's advice.
Thus, Y/N found themselves pinned to the wall by their shoulders. Kiyotaka's face matched the color of his eyes, which Y/N found quiet adorable. Unfortunately, their face had probably become a similar shade. At least their mood had been boosted.
"Oh, it's on."
"Uh-huh?!" Kiyotaka gasped as Y/N spun around, pinning him to the wall.
"Bit of advice?" Y/N smiled, leaning towards Kiyotaka. "Don't try to pin me."
All Kiyotaka could do in response was nod.
"Well, while I'm here, might as well seize the day, you know?"
"Uh-huh..."
When Y/N had read fairytales with their father, they had always thought their first kiss would be magical too.
It was more than magical.
They might have stayed that way forever, if they didn't need air.
"Well," Y/N smiled, after they pulled away. "I'll see you in detention."
I'M SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG
