Once again, art is not mine.

I heard the angels call again

Y/N was the princess of the angels and was going to marry the other prince, Harold.

"Y/N! Stop acting like a spoiled brat and accept the fact that Harold is your future husband!" Her parents would say.

I threw myself a party, chardonnay and oxy.

She sat alone in her room, eating a slice of cake. Even though it was her birthday, she ate alone and had her own party because she was grounded. She leaned against the large window and looked out at the night sky.

I stopped the screams inside my head

Her parents forced her to be the absolute perfect angel, so no matter what, Y/N had to suppress the screams that pressed against her lips.

I remember when you had me, floating high like sid and nancy

Y/N opened one of her windows and flew to the Walls, where the world was split with devils on one side and angels on the other. She was meeting her boyfriend there.

But she did not know that she was being followed by Harold.

They say it's not the answer, but I can't carry on.

Y/N hugged Gundham tightly.

"Gundham, they want me to marry a stranger!" She cried. He sighed sadly.

"Everything is going to be alright," he assured her.

Cause I got nowhere, no one; without you boy I'm done.

"I-I c-can't i-imagine l-life w-without you!" Y/N said through her sobs.

"But fate is against us," Gundham added.

And when I'm gone, remember you're the one.

"I love you Gundham. Please remember me." Y/N smiled at the ground.

And just because I fight doesn't mean I never learned how to love.

Gundham smiled at her. "I love you too, my Dark Angel, and I shall never forget you."

At that moment, Harold jumped from his hiding place, and screamed at Y/N,

"YOU KNOW DEVILS DON'T FLY!"

Y/N shook her head and defended Gundham.

"So don't expect him not to fall!"

Harold stuck his tongue.

"Devils don't fly!"

Y/N threw her arms wide.

"But God we almost had it all!"

Gundham sighed and chimed in.

"But I got chains, and you got wings."

Harold rollled his eyes at Gundham's remark.

"You know that life ain't fair sometimes. Devils don't fly!"

Gundham surprised both Y/N and Harold by looking past the wall.

"But I try."

He then jumped into the air, trying to fly. But he did not fly, and landed on his butt.

What's a girl to do when she's not strong?

After that, Y/N's parents watched her even more closely. Right now, she was in her room, looking at a picture of her and Gundham. She hated to admit it, but right now she felt weak.

When everyone that holds my hand gets cut from all the thorns?

"Mother! Please don't imprison Gundham! I love him!"

Y/N's mother ignored her daughter's pleas. "Gundham hurt you. That means that he shall be imprisoned forever."

"Noooo!"

I used to put my ear against the wall.

Y/N put her ear against her parent's door. They talked about sending her away and worse, marrying Harold, whom she hated.

To hear the screams, to hear the fall.

Y/N started creeping back to her room when she heard a scream come from her parent's room.

More reasons to escape it all.

She snuck out of the castle and sat on the Wall, this time, alone. The Wall was where she could think and not worry about her responsibilities.

And it's not the answer, but I can't carry on.

Y/N stopped genuinely smiling, laughing, and caring. She was hurting, but no one cared to notice. All she knew was that she needed to find where Gundham was imprisoned.

I give my best smile, my last dime.

Y/N tried to make it seem like she was ok. She would fake smile and show kindness to both devils and angels.

But I'm always getting wrong.

Sadly, because she was kind to devils, she was shunned by her fellow angels. Harold didn't even want to marry her anymore, and her parents basically disowned her.

It's not cause I'm young, or from a broken home.

Y/N tried her best to ignore the pain she was in, but she felt it anyways. Her parents refused to talk to her.

"Maybe I just fight cause I don't know where I belong!"

She screamed at her parents. Afterwards, she ran to Gundham's cell and opened the door.

"Gundham!" She cried, dropping to her knees and hugging him tightly. Her parents stepped in the doorway and screamed

"YOU KNOW DEVIL'S DON'T FLY!"

Y/N stood up and faced her parents.

"So don't expect him not to fall."

She then helped Gundham stand and stood next to him.

"Devils don't fly!"

Her parents protested again.

Y/N threw her arms wide.

"But God we almost had it all!"

Gundham bowed his head and sighed.

"But I got chains, and you got wings."

Y/N's parents smiled evilly at him.

"You know that life ain't fair sometimes. Devils don't fly!"

Gundham, despite being shackled by chains, jumped into the air, trying to fly.

"But I try."

Of course, he failed and soon after Y/N was thrown in the cell with Gundham, and she turned into a devil soon after.

"Angels were never meant to fall."

She sighed sadly. Gundham kissed her forehead softly.

"And you were the loveliest of all."

He continued to hug her and comfort her.

"If I thought God could fix it, I'd pray for your forgiveness."

Y/N looked at him surprised. Then she bowed her head.

"But I've been cast down, thrown out, when I crossed to the other side."

Once again, Gundham and Y/N stood facing her parents.

Y/N bowed her head and sighed,

"No devils don't fly!"

Her parents took her statement and flung it back at her.

"NO DEVILS DON"T FLY!"

Gundham and Y/N smirked and said in unison,

"So don't expect me not to fall."

Y/N growled as her parents said again,

"Devils don't fly!"

Y/N threw her hands wide.

"But God we almost had it all!"

Gundham spoke softly,

"But I got chains, and you got wings."

Y/N's parents taunted them some more.

"You know that life ain't fair sometimes. Devils don't fly!"

Y/N held Gundham's hand and jumped with him, trying to fly.

"But I try."

A blinding light filled the room, temporarily blinding everyone. When it faded away, Gundham and Y/N were now angels and Y/N's parents were devils. Without a second thought, Y/N banished her parents to the devil side of the wall.

Years later, she and Gundham had married and were expecting a child very soon. Y/N sat under her window, like she did when she was younger. Gundham rested his head on her lap. She closed her eyes and whispered softly,

"But I try."
