✓ oneshot | rain rain go away
You sat on the bench, licking your ice cream before it could drip down the side of your cone. The sweetness seemed to melt on your tongue, fulfilling the sugar craving that's been following you around all day.
Gently kicking your feet on the curb you allowed yourself to listen to the crunching sound of your foot stepping over the gravel bellow, calmly just waiting for your best friend Layla to come.
She was late as per usual, but you didn't mind. The sun was shining more brightly than your future, casting a soft glow over the park. You were content with just momentarily watching the birds flutter from branch to tree for now, their quick and sharp yet graceful wings drawing your attention.
It was always so busy back at your house, with your mother rushing about. And London hadn't been this hot and sunny for a while, so the weather itself was pretty much a treat.
You finished your cone, relaxing back against the wood of the bench, watching a young couple laugh by the fountain. The park was beautiful, all in all you had some hesitation in the idea of leaving this place.
A small yawn escaped past your lips however, drawing to your attention the fact that you hadn't slept much last night. Layla probably wouldn't come yet for a while anyways, and with that thought you closed your eyes to rest just for a bit, your senses dulled. Just as you were relaxing though, a small quick beep pierced through the calmness of your subconscious.
Groaning you glanced down stubbornly at your phone residing in your jean pocket, wishing it would disappear. Another annoying beep seemed to think otherwise. Sliding it out with a yawn you saw your friends name, bright and bold on your screen, leaving no choice but to answer.

4:23PM
Layla: Y/N we have a change of plans.
What's wrong now?
Layla: Well I need you to meet me at the airport, I can't pick you up.
How the hell can I get there without a car?
Layla: Just call a taxi or something, hurry though!
You know I hate it when you do shit like this.
Layla: Love you boo~
Fine. I'm on my way, I hate you too.
Layla: You know you love me.
Unfortunately that's true.

You let out a frustrated sigh, pocketing your phone away while standing up, making your way out of the park while enjoying the last few rays of sunlight before they would disappear.
Ten damn minutes.
That's all it took for the sky to have a mental breakdown and burst into tears.
You kicked stubbornly at a puddle, the cold water spraying at your already damp pants, a shiver running up your spine. It had been fifteen minutes already, just waiting in the rain for a taxi to pass by.
Yes after a few minutes of walking to the bus stop it had started to rain, beginning with a drizzle and now evolving to droplets. Your clothes were already drenched or damp at most places, and you were shuddering as you walked over the side road.
Reaching into your bag you looked inside, fumbling for your phone. Holding it close you tried to wipe the water droplets on the screen with your sleeve.
When coincidentally all of a sudden a bright white light, from the headlights of a car, filled your vision. Involuntary causing you to shriek and trip backwards, slamming into a puddle on your behind.
The cold muddy water immediately soaked into your pants and lower back, your butt throbbing from the pain as you groaned. Feeling an overwhelming sense of wanting to hit someone.
The day started out so great, but now you had the worst crappy mood. You were soaking wet. Had no transportation at all because evidently there were no taxis to be found, the one job you would assume were the most consistent and reliable. Also, you were probably going to be late to the airport and the cause of Layla's poor soon to be broken heart.
Oh and wow, your phone is currently laying in a muddy puddle.
How amazing is that?
With a frustrated scream you tried to get all the emotions bundling up inside of you out. As you tried getting up a few seconds later however, you managed to somehow, once again, slip on the muddy water.
The sound of tires squealing on the wet road caught your attention from the puddle you were currently sulking in. Lifting your head up you squint your eyes, trying to see through the misty fog that hung in the air, only to notice a car.
A black SUV with tinted windows had stopped right in front of you. The car door opened allowing a shadowed figure to step down. Their shoes making small splashes in the puddles as the person got increasingly closer.
You arched your eyebrow in confusion, why were they coming towards you?
As the figure got closer you started to panic. You've heard of kidnappers picking up girls on the street, never to be seen again. Every single horrible and bizarre thought slipped into your mind, causing you to hyperventilate.
With shaking legs you got up and started to stumble away. The rain all the while pouring down on you, making it hard to see. Yet you had to get away, maybe find a store to stay in until the rain stopped.
"Hey...stop!" The person yelled out, who was subconsciously deemed a guy from the sound of his voice. You could hear his footsteps quickening, making your heart beat faster.
Your feet slammed onto the ground in a steady pace, trying desperately not to fall. The adrenaline rushing through your veins while you tried to get the fuck away from him. You were just amazed that you didn't slip to your face yet.
The fear faded as your breathing returned to normal after a while, thinking you had lost him when you couldn't hear any footsteps. With a sigh you shake out your hair, the rain turning into a light drizzle by now.
"Hello? Why you run?" A voice suddenly asked, causing you to spin around and stop dead in your tracks, heart racing with nervousness. The boy seemed around your age, smiling widely at you with twinkling eyes, why would a murderer smile? His brown wet hair was tucked under a beanie, and he seemed a bit out of breath.
Two other boys stepped out from behind him, one with blond hair and one with jet black hair. The black haired one kept scanning your expression, his eyes seeming to lock onto your face with a type of curiosity.
This was making you uncomfortable, turning around with a flickering sight, looking for a place to run. Cursing under your breath though when you realized you were an idiot and walked into an alleyway. Holding your ground however you lifted both fists, jaw clenched and ready to throw a punch.
"Hey calm down, we're not gonna hurt you," the guy with blond hair quickly explained with a reassuring voice, his hands out in front of him as if to calm you down. Glancing at his face more carefully you noticed he had sunglasses on, why was he wearing sunglasses in the rain?
"Yes, no hurt you!" The one you first met added in broken English, holding his hands up as well as if in surrender. His smile was still as bright as ever, making you even more confused.
You looked at them carefully, assuming the thought that they weren't going to kill you. You slowly put your fisted hands down, letting out a breath you didn't know you were holding in.
"I'm Hoseok!" The one smiling said, holding out your wet phone on his hand. You gingerly took it and gave him a frown, still slightly cautious of them.
"Just call me Namjoon," the blond guy added with a small smile. Allowing you to nod your head a little bit in acknowledgement.
Your eyes however traveled to the quiet black haired boy, he waved at you a bit, and you politely smiled. Watching as he shifted from foot to foot, rubbing the back of is neck as if he was nervous.
"I'm Jungkook..," he stuttered, not looking directly at you, but glancing at your shoulder instead. Namjoon was trying to hold back a chuckle for some reason, while Hoseok just shook his head with a small grin.
You cleared your throat and placed your phone in your purse, this was nice and all but you wanted to get to Layla as quick as possible.
"I'm Y/N, nice to meet you guys," you replied, fixing the bag strap over your shoulder, still confused as to what they wanted of you.
"Sorry, I don't speak English much. You want to come to car with us? We help you?" Hoseok tried to explain, adding in a few hand gestures as well. He seemed not at all shy of his poor grammar, saying something quickly to Namjoon in another language as he let out a laugh. Quickly detecting the language as your eyes widen with a bit of amusement.
"Are you all Korean?" You asked, genuinely smiling.
"Yes, is it that obvious?" Namjoon hesitantly answered with some embarrassment.
Clearing your throat you naturally switched to Korean, all the while holding back a laugh at their bewildered expressions while you spoke.
"I actually speak Korean, I studied it as a language in highschool and college," you admitted. Watching their expressions change were hilarious, guess they didn't think it was likely to bump into a foreigner who spoke with fairly good pronunciation.
"Damn," Jungkook breathed out, the first person breaking the silence. He burst into laughter, cheeks flushing like crazy.
"I didn't expect that..," Hoseok muttered, scratching the back of his neck as he let out a sheepish smile.
Namjoon took off his glasses, nodding in appreciation.
"I am super impressed," he added with a grin, raising his eyebrow in a teasing way as his dimples showed.
You let out your first genuine laugh since meeting these weird guys, holding your hands behind your back before making your way back to where the car was parked.
"Hey, where are you going?" J-Hope questioned, sliding beside you in step as he nudged your shoulders with his own, leaning his head down to glance at you. You just shrugged in reply, trying not to smile at the cute grin on his face.
Namjoon and Jungkook trailed behind you, with the older boy poking the quiet one and making fun of him for some reason.
"You did ask if I wanted a ride, right?" You finally replied to Hoseok's question after a few seconds later, nudging his shoulder back but a little unintentionally rough.
"Ow, your shoulders are practically weapons," he whined with an eye roll flicking your forehead before running ahead to the car, away from your soon to be payback. He got in the driver's seat and started the engine, checking in on some stuff while humming under his breath.
With a shake of your head and a grin you walked to the side of the car, watching Namjoon go over to help Hoseok. That left you and Jungkook alone for a few minutes, as the boy walked up and stood beside you. Leaning his back against the car door, as he ran his fingers through his hair.
Silent minutes were passing as he kept glancing at you, looking away quickly when you caught his gaze. You awkwardly shuffled your feet, yawning and peeking up at him from underneath your eyelashes. This went on for a few seconds until you finally had enough of it. The silence was just getting on your nerves.
"So..," you mumbled, trying to start up a conversation, causing him to avoid your gaze as he looked up at a tree, stuffing his hands in his pockets.
You looked back at the van and finally thought of something to ask.
"What are you guys doing here in London?" You questioned, truly interested, your head tilted to the side by habit.
He let out a soft chuckle, glancing down at you with twinkling eyes.
God, he looked adorably cute.
You suddenly shook your head from the thought however, nudging his foot with yours.
"Are you a mute or something?" You implied, trying not to laugh as he crossed his arms and furrowed his eyebrows.
"No actually I'm not, I just don't talk much," he admitted tapping his fingers to an unknown rhythm against the van. You leaned on the car next to him, making sure to stay a few inches away.
"But since you asked we're passing through here for our concert, in Korea. We just came to London for a photo shoot," he told you while closing his eyes and massaging his forehead.
"You okay?" You worriedly asked, patting his shoulder lightly in comfort.
He grinned and bit his lip, resulting in you trying not to stare.
"Yeah I'm fine, just tired.. and wet because of you now," he added, gesturing at his soaked clothes.
You were hyperventilating internally at his comment, blinking away the thought.
"Well I didn't ask you guys to help me," you implied jokingly, turning your face to the other side. Randomly admiring the trees coated with sparkling droplets of water, the rain had apparently stopped and the sun was starting to let its rays peek against the sky.
"Hey, I couldn't let you die all alone in a puddle of mud," he chuckled twisting a strand of your hair between his fingers.
You glanced over your shoulder at the sudden contact, taking the strand from his hand with a frown.
"Don't touch my hair," You protectively muttered out, stroking it and tucking it behind your ear.
He held his hands up in surrender, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.
"Fine calm down, I wasn't going to cut it off or anything."
You rolled your eyes," I'm actually going to a concert with my friend in Korea. Her favorite band or something, actually I should be there at the airport soon, can we go now?" you worriedly mumbled out while biting your bottom lip. You noticed Jungkook staring at that action, your face heating up as you licked your bottom lip and immediately stopped biting it.
Hearing a couple chuckles snapped you out of whatever the hell moment you both were having. Turning around you caught Namjoon and Hoseok giggling while watching you guys in the car behind the open window, even taking pictures and videos with their phones. However, the both immediately turning red when they saw they got caught.
"The fuck?" Jungkook screamed, furiously launching at them to try and get the phones. This resulting in an out of control play fight with the guys trying to tickle each other. When enough was enough you banged your hand on the car door, nervously tapping your foot on the ground.
"I've got places to be and people to meet! Also a plane to catch so can you continue this later? Preferably after I'm gone?" You added with a slight pleading tone, already getting inside the van.
"She's a good match for you Kookie..," Namjoon teased as Hoseok tried not to burst into laughter.
"Just stop it already!" Jungkook embarrassingly huffed out while climbing in the van, his ears bright red.
"Our kookie is becoming a man..," Hoseok sniffed, pretending to tear up.
"Yes, and I'm getting this framed and put on a CD for the boys to see," Namjoon chuckled out with that usual mischievous glint in his eyes.
You yourself sat comfortably on the car seat, eyelids growing heavy with drowsiness. Giving Jungkook the airport address you watched him input it in the gps, while the other two boys whispered and laughed up front.
After buckling in your seat belt you decided to take a small nap. When you had closed your eyes he gently lifted his hand and shifted your head so that it rested on his shoulder, a small smile resulting on your lips from that action. After all, this sweet guy had his arm around your shoulder.
What better way to spy on him than fake sleeping?
