The room was filled with celebratory cheers, friends dancing in nearly every corner of the room, decorations covering the walls, and Christmas music echoed throughout the room. Felix sighed as he made his way through the crowd, walking towards the balcony. He stepped outside, feeling the cold crisp air crawl upon his skin, forming goosebumps on his arms. He took a deep breath, seeing his frosty breaths flow through the wind. He took a seat on the bench that was covered in snow, shoving the slushy substance to the floor. He ran his hand through his hair, looking at all the other apartment buildings, seeing homes decorated for Christmas, with family and friends gathered all over.
Felix sat there, pondering his thoughts on the past year. He smiled at the many memories he had created with his loved ones, feeling bittersweet the year was coming to an end. Felix always found Christmas very lonely, despite being surrounded by his friends. It's not like Felix wasn't close to them, that wasn't the case at all. It was more the fact that Felix was a very personal individual. If he were to spend a holiday, he would want to spend it with his special someone. Felix loved intimacy, and unfortunately, that was the very thing he was lacking, causing his loneliness.
Felix's heart sped up whilst a smile made its way on his lips, as he thought of the man he so helplessly had fallen head over heels for. They had met a few months ago, earlier on in the year. Felix immediately found him attractive, but it was his sweet nature and gestures that had Felix swooning over him. However, to Felix's dismay, the very same man that he had been crushing on for nearly a year now had also harboured feelings for the freckled boy. Of course, Felix was quite oblivious to his crush's advances, but that didn't mean the older would give up though.
Speaking of the devil, Felix was so deep into his thoughts that he didn't hear the footsteps that belonged to his crush. The male had stalked closer toward the younger, taking a seat next to him. With this, Felix realised he was no longer alone as a new presence had arrived. A presence he was all too familiar with. His cheeks flushed a light pink shade as he made eye contact with the older, his nervousness peeking in as he started to fidget with his fingers, trying ever so hard to calm his anxiety.
"Seems lonely out here." Chan muttered in a soft tone, looking down at the younger. He took in Felix's cute outfit, perfectly fitting the festive season. He noticed the boy fiddling with his hands, a habit he had become accustomed to when he is stressed. Chan became aware of this fact through the few months they had become acquainted with one another. Although he found the freckled beauty cute with his habit, he couldn't help but wonder what was causing the boy to be so tense on Christmas.
"Maybe I prefer it that way." Felix inaudibly spoke. Chan heard of course, which only had him frowning at Felix's response. There was a few moments of silence between the two, as Felix continued to look down at the streets, whilst Chan kept his eyes on Felix. The young boy looked so adorable, and oh how badly Chan wanted to hold him in his arms, but he couldn't help but feel Felix was acting sort of standoffish towards him. Chan had grown attached to him for a while now, and Felix always displayed affection in return, so he wondered why Felix was suddenly pushing him away. Especially on Christmas.
"I don't seem to believe that, to be honest." Chan finally replied, looking directly at him. Felix gave a side-eye to Chan, letting out a deep sigh as he held his arms together in a cross to shelter the warmth from the cold that hit his body. He lightly smiled at Chan's answer, finding the small pout on his face to be quite cute. His heart couldn't help but melt at Chan's adorable expressions. Felix eyed his heart-shaded lips once more, having the urge to push himself forward crashing his lips on Chan's. Alas, he couldn't as it wouldn't be appropriate to do so.
"Fair enough." Felix let out some giggles, now locking eyes with Chan. He wasn't exactly doing a good job of keeping eye contact though, as his sight kept flickering between Chan's eyes and lips. The older couldn't tell if he was imagining things, but he slowly caught onto Felix staring at his lips now and then, which only caused Chan's heart to ablaze with fire. The two kept their lingering eyes on one another for a moment more, until Felix broke it off, looking away to the side to avoid any more awkward prolonged moments.
He knew Chan didn't mind any sort of endearment, so why was he so nervous? Why today of all days? Felix slowly craned his neck, looking back at the older who was looking down at his lap, with a sour expression on his face. Felix couldn't help but wonder, was he the cause of Chan's sudden mood change? Did he hurt his feelings by being distant? He instantly felt guilt for upsetting Chan, not knowing how to apologise. Instead, he used his actions by laying his head on Chan's broad shoulder, whilst clasping Chan's hand within his own.
Chan perked up instantaneously, and Felix took a notice of this, now smiling as his plan worked to make the older happy. Chan felt a light weight on his shoulder, turning his head to feel some fluffy dark hair tickling his face. He grinned into the boy's hair, cautiously circling his arms around Felix's shoulders. Felix felt the gentle grasp around him, the tender touch of the older once again igniting his emotions. He felt so safe and so warm in Chan's arms, he never wanted this moment to end.
Felix peeked up at Chan's face, as he hid most of himself in his chest. He looked up at him, as if he were a cat, only revealing his eyes as the rest of his face was covered in Chan's arms. Chan glanced down at the adorable boy in his grasp, reaching to move some strands of hair that blocked the view of the constellations on his honey-coloured skin. Chan could only coo at Felix's timidness, his heart going crazier by the second. Felix could barely do anything, and Chan would fall weak to his knees over every little thing he does.
Felix kept his gaze on Chan, taking in his handsome features whilst also allowing himself to be blanketed in the warmth of Chan's arm. A small blush of pink highlighted his cheeks, as well as his ears turned a shade of crimson. Felix was trying his best not to shy his gaze away, but he just couldn't help but get flustered every time the older would look at him. His eyes kept shifting from Chan's eyes to anywhere but. In doing this, he took notice of a small shrub hanging above them. His orbs glistened as he realised the hanging plant was a mistletoe.
A mistletoe. Above them. Right above himself and Chan. Chan. His crush.
His heart started to slam against his chest, swallowing dry as he lightly shifted in Chan's hold. Chan acknowledged Felix's nervous state, tilting his head in confusion. He uttered a small "You okay?" to the smaller boy, and all he received in return was Felix pointing his small finger to the ceiling of the terrace. Chan looked up, puzzled by Felix's sudden shift in behaviour. And then in that moment, he saw it. A mini mistletoe laced to the bottom of the balcony above them.
Chan's lips lifted by the side, showcasing a tiny smirk. He slowly looked down at the younger once more, now understanding Felix's shyness. Chan's face held a grin, as he leaned his face closer to Felix's, lips merely a few centimeters apart. Chan had no idea where the sudden profound confidence had come from but in no way was he complaining. The opportunity had finally presented itself to make a move on his crush, and hey, who was he to deny a classic Christmas tradition whilst at it?
Felix instantly caught onto what was about to happen next. If his heart wasn't running a marathon before, it definitely was now. His eyes fluttered closed, his lips finally attaching to Chan's. Their lips connected, as well as the swelling of their hearts beating in unison. It wasn't too long, nor was it just a mere peck, but the two just couldn't help but urge for more and more of each other. The newfound tastes on their lips were addicting. They never wanted this moment to end. Chan took the lead with the kiss, holding onto Felix's blushing cheeks, as Felix's small hand wrapped around the older's wrist, whilst the other found its way to Chan's neck.
Their lips danced with one another, as fireworks erupted through the night sky, as the sun had finally set. Those weren't the only fireworks that were on display, however. The two felt explosions of love burst all over their bodies, especially in the warmth of their hearts.
And alas, all good things must come to an end, as they both pulled apart, their soft plump lips glistening, and their eyes filled with nothing but sheer love and adoration and even happiness. Chan snuck a tender kiss on Felix's forehead, holding his face ever so gently in his hands. Felix felt a pulse of electricity tickle his forehead, leaving a tingling sensation where Chan's peck had met his skin. They both grew cheeky smiles on their lips, now leaning their foreheads against each other. Both Chan and Felix gazed at each other, Felix faintly squinting his doe eyes whilst a frown of vulnerability displayed upon his eyebrows.
Both their eyes sparkled, as Chan spoke out his long-awaited confession. "I like you" Chan whispered in the cold air of the night, only allowing Felix's ears to hear his declaration. Felix smiled sweetly, as his hands laid on Chan's neck.
"Then I guess Santa gave me my Christmas gift."
