Ninjago- AeriaxLloyd Snow Day
Happy Valentine's Day Everyone! Here's a oneshot for you all and feel free to comment any requests if there's another oneshot from any other fandom I follow and I'll try to get to work on it later today.
3rd Person POV
It was a peaceful day in Ninjago Harbor where the Destiny's Bounty was currently anchored and a flock of seagulls was perched along the ship's rails before-
"WHAT!!!" Jay's voice yelled out shaking the ship to the point where the seagulls all flew off screeching.
Lloyd and the other ninja, minus Jay, rushed into the living room where Jay had been screaming.
"Jay what's wrong?!" Lloyd questioned urgently seeing his friend laying on the ground reaching for the sky dramatically as Aeria sat on the couch playing Dragon Flyer seemingly unaffected by Jay's yell from the way she was blankly staring at the screen with her dragon avatar passing all the others and winning the race.
"Everything!" Jay answered dramatically before Aeria rolled her eyes and told them,
"We were talking and he started talking about snow and when I told him I had never seen snow let alone play in it, he went nuts."
"You've never seen snow?" Nya questioned.
"Nope."
"Never ever?" Cole asked.
"Yes! Geez what are you guys not understanding?"
"Well, it's just..." Lloyd trailed off, not sure what to say before Zane interjected,
"It is highly unusual for you to have never seen snow before when it is a seasonal occurrence for this region of Ninjago."
"How is it that you're supposed to be a robot yet you forget I didn't always live in this region?" Aeria asked critically.
Zane was about to answer before he stopped himself and Aeria scoffed ruefully before telling them,
"As far as 'normal experiences' go, I wasn't lucky enough..."
She finished entering her name in the list of top high scores alongside the countless other listings with her name before tossing the controller onto the couch and walking off to the training room, no doubt to work the punching bag.
"We should've been more sensitive to the fact that she didn't have the luxury of an at least semi-normal childhood like the rest of us..." Nya admitted as she and the others gathered around in a huddled circle.
"Yeah but, maybe we could do something about it?" Cole suggested.
"Like what?" Jay asked and this made Lloyd think for a bit before his eyes lit up and he told them,
"I have an idea."
Time Skip
A few hours later, Aeria was punching away at her bag with her gloves on, occasionally growling while thinking about how often she had to run as a kid, so much to the point where she could never just have fun and be a normal kid.
She heard footsteps behind her and whirled around and stopped mid-punch when she saw it was only Lloyd.
"Oh hey..." Aeria looked down as she pulled her gloves off and went to drink from her water bottle, "What's up?"
"I uhh t-the ship's thrusters broke and Nya needs some help fixing them."
"Again? I just tuned them up yesterday, they should be fine." Aeria tossed her bottle aside with an annoyed huff before grabbing her giant wrench she usually used to just bang on the engine to get it working whenever it acted up.
"Uhh I don't think you'll need that." Lloyd told her with uncertainty as they headed up the stairs and Aeria asked,
"Why not?" Stopping at the stairs right before they arrived to the deck and Lloyd smiled before holding out a purple winter jacket and answering,
"Because you're actually going to need this."
Aeria raised an eyebrow at that but took the jacket anyway with the wrench still in her hand until she and Lloyd stepped out onto the deck and she dropped it in surprise at what was in front of her; the whole bay had been frozen over with mounds of powdery snow every few feet as well as little pyramids of prepared snowballs and small walls made of ice bricks and already a couple of people and families were skating around and playing in the snow with the others dressed in color matching jackets.
"Woah..." Aeria held out her hand as a few snowflakes landed on her open palm and she looked at them in wonder before they melted and dripped down her hand before lightly shaking her head in disbelief and asking, "How...?"
"Zane used his powers with Xia amplifying them to freeze over the whole bay, Nya and Kai helped with creating the snow mounds and telling the people about it and Jay and Cole worked together to create the snowballs."
"It's amazing..." Aeria pulled on her jacket before holding her arms up and spinning around under the falling snow a few times while the smile on her face looked like it could light up a thousand cities.
"Shall we?" Lloyd asked with a hand gesturing to the scene below after he pulled on his green jacket and Aeria lightly smirked before saying,
"OK then." Right before they jumped down from the edge of the deck to land in a soft pile of snow and their heads popped up to reveal their smiling faces as Aeria gently flicked a small handful of snow into Lloyd's face.
"Snowball fight!" Jay declared and friendly chaos started with everyone gathering the premade snowballs to chuck to each other while ducking behind the ice block walls to avoid being pelted. In the middle of all the playful mayhem, Lloyd had been hit in the back of the head with Aeria's giggling audible from behind him and he laughed before gathering up a handful of snow and preparing to throw it back at her before he turned around to see she wasn't there.
"Huh?"
"Ha!" He felt a whole clump of snow get shoved onto his head making it drip down the back of his head and onto his face and he brushed it off to see Aeria bending over to clutch her stomach as she laughed,
"You should see your face!"
"Oh yeah well let's see how you like this!" Lloyd scooped some of the snow off his head and threw it at her, but she swiftly avoided it with a side step before she jumped out on the ice with Lloyd following close behind before a swirl of frozen energy surrounded both their feet and the next thing they knew, they had ice blades attached to the bottoms of their shoes.
"Woah woah woah!" Aeria's arms spun around like pinwheels as she tried to get her balance and almost fell over if Lloyd hadn't caught her as she was about to faceplant onto the ice.
"I gotcha." Lloyd assured her as she was in an awkward hug-like state from her near faceplant.
"How do you move on these things?" Aeria asked as she looked down at her skates with her feet turning inwards to prevent herself from falling again.
"You just push yourself forward with each step like this. Left right left right." Lloyd demonstrated by skating in a small circle around her before he stopped and held out his hand to Aeria as she stayed in her lopsided position before she looked into his eyes and gave him a nod of trust and put her hand in his.
"Now left right left right..." Lloyd held onto Aeria's hand as she started to copt his movements and soon they were both skating at the same fast pace curving around in wavelike motions and circling around the others as they were playing in the snow as well with the other people who had showed up.
"Hey you're getting better." Lloyd grinned as Aeria skated for a bit on only one leg with the other slightly lifted in the air with her free hand balancing her.
"Yeah! Now ummm how do we stop?"
"Just slide to the side so the blades brake against the ice."
Aeria nodded and tried to do what Lloyd said but just ended up driving her skate to take her in a circle and Lloyd quickly grabbed her other hand as they twirled around in a circle with their hands locking onto each other before they both fell down and went sliding on the ice until they landed in another mound of soft snow.
A few seconds later, they popped up from the pile again laughing while their cheeks were slightly flushed from the excitement.
"That was so much fun!" Aeria put her arms down and just took a few seconds to catch her breath after all the slipping and skating and Lloyd feigned surprise when he told her,
"You have something on your face."
"What?" Aeria patted her face in confusion before Lloyd quickly kissed her cheek leaving her completely stunned as she froze in place with her face darkening from a light blush to cherry red in a matter of seconds.
"Got it." Lloyd playfully smirked before Aeria broke out of her lovestruck trance enough to shove another handful of snow at him, getting his face this time before she laughed and ran off. Lloyd brushing his face off before smirking and running after her, the two of them in a chase that seemed to last an eternity before the sun finally started to set and everyone left, the enamored pair holding hands as the ice finally melted between the two...
