Tacit Fascination || Shui || P1
I've never actually seen a shui oneshot before, and I have no idea how it will work out, but let's hope it turns out okay. This is going to be an au where beyblades never existed (so an au that makes their world like ours!)
Please give me critiques on anything you find to be ungrammatical or just anything in general that you found unsatisfactory!

Edit - so! I think it didn't post my updated draft so I'm republishing it
______________
As the night dragged on at a painfully slow pace, Lui had come to the realization that it was sprinkling. Shooting a glare at the sky, the short male knew it wouldn't do much to stop the water coming from the sky. He looked back at the sidewalk, deciding that it was time to walk home or to possibly head down to a café and get something to warm him up.
At that exact moment, another male was in the café that was closest to Lui, though it wasn't to escape what was now becoming rain. The taller boy had gotten a summer job so he could save up money to buy anything he desired. He was brought out of his thoughts by a soft 'ding', signaling that the door had been opened. He looked up, seeing a short boy with purple/lavender eyes and teal hair enter the small café. The boy walked up, with a scowl on his face that was covered by his damp hair. "Hey, you! I want something warm." Lui demanded, frustration evident in his tone. "Would you like that to be a drink or a pastry?" The taller boy, who has red eyes and not quite short but not quite long white hair, inquired while quirking an eyebrow up. At that Lui had stiffened, obviously not thinking about it before.
"Why would I know that?!" He practically screamed at the albino. The addressed male shook his head, "I was asking because I need to know what you want," He motioned towards the menu, "Because everything is not the same price." And by a miracle of nature, Lui's scowl deepened. "And I should care why?"
"Because you can't have something for free. You'll need to pay for your food, and I need to know how much to charge you for." The albino paused for a second before addressing the fuming ball of fire. "Do you even have any money on you?" Lui looked offended for a split-second before scoffing. "Of course not! Who just carries cash on them? I certainly do-" The soft 'ding' of the door cut him short. Three siblings had walked in, two with blue hair and one with pink. The oldest one shook off an umbrella in the small area outside where rain wouldn't hit, then put it in the umbrella holder. "Hey, Shu! Toko, Nika, and I would like some hot chocolate!" The white-head shook his head slightly before stating he was dealing with a customer already, and the one Shu had addressed as 'Valt' apologized to Lui. Said flame-headed male just glared at him and sat at a table without ordering.
Valt glanced at Lui, "Is he alright? He seems pretty mad about something?" Shu shook his head once again. "He just came in like that. You wanted three hot chocolates, right?" And in response to his question, Shu got three different colored heads nodding in unison. The albino smiled ever so slightly at that and went to make their order while Valt fumbled around with some cash to pay for said drinks. He glanced over at Lui, then looked at Shu and requested one more hot chocolate. "Another one? Are you planning on having a chugging contest?" Shu asked with a glance over his shoulder. Valt shook his head no in response, "I'm getting one for the person before us!" Lui immediately growled and glared at Valt. "I don't need you to pay for my drink!" Shu turned around and glared at Lui. "He's trying to be nice, so either be grateful and take it or leave the café because you have no reason to be here." Lui's expression morphed into a scowl, but he muttered a thank you to Valt and glared at the window. The rain had started falling harder, pelting anyone, like little bullets, that had decided to walk in the rain. He wanted to leave, but couldn't in the current weather conditions without getting sick. A weakened immune system from being cold wouldn't help the fact that a virus has been going around.
In a few minutes, Shu had finished the desired beverages and handed them to Valt then glanced at the clock. Valt put the correct amount of money in front of Shu and noticed he wasn't paying attention. "Shu, what are you looking at?" He followed Shu's line of vision and noticed that his shift ends in a few minutes. "Oh! You should join us, Shu!" Nika and Toko smiled, albeit with a hot chocolate mustache on each of their faces, and agreed with Valt. Shu looked outside after he put the money in the register. "Well I can't exactly go home unless I want to get soaking wet," He shot a small smile to Valt. "I'll join you, Nika, and Toko." Nika grinned while Toko and Valt did a small cheer. Valt then ran up to Lui and handed him his hot chocolate. Lui huffed, grabbed the drink, and looked away. This, however, didn't deter Valt. "Can we sit with you? You seem lonely!" The blue haired boy exclaimed, determined to make a friend out of this rude male. Lui glared at Valt but understood he wouldn't be able to stop him from his ventures. "Fine, whatever." Valt then motioned for everyone to sit at the table with Lui. He made Shu and Lui sit next to each other so they would 'get along' (*insert a picture of "our get along shirt" with shu and lui in it*). Valt had done most of the talking, Nika and Toko butting in to add something to the conversation every once in a while. Everythime Lui would say something rude to any of them, Shu would retort back. Eventually, though, Valt had gotten a pleasant conversation going on between the five of them.
By the time everyone was done with their hot chocolate, the rain had once again become a light sprinkle that would only be an annoyance and nothing more. Shu's co-worker had arrived by then as well and took over the register and serving. Lui begrudgingly had given Valt his number, mostly because Valt wouldn't stop asking for it because they had become 'friends', who then made Shu add Lui's number to his phone.
After that, Valt had made Lui go to multiple friend outings, and even if he won't admit it Lui had started liking going with the friend group. Xhaka would constantly tease him about his height, though, so he'd always be rude and sarcastic with him. And even though at first Shu had despised the idea of Lui joining their hangouts, he grew to be okay with the idea.
