I got bored

Vesper POV

Vesper quickly got out of the car and shut the door a little harder than she meant to. "Sorry mom!" She called, already running towards the convention center. "I love you!"

She made it to the doors and flashed her wristband at security. She let her bag be checked and her prop weapon tagged, then hurried into the convention. She checked her phone and clicked on a text from Willow.

It read, "I'm here and in the convention center! I'm over by Celebrity Row waiting. We can go find Sigils from there!"

She made her way through the masses and spotted her friend in the corner. "Willow!" She called, running towards her bff. Willow glanced around and spotted Vesper. A smile grew on her face and she opened her arms. "Vesper!"

The two hugged. "It's so good to see you, in person this time!" Vesper laughed. "And your cosplay looks amazing!"

Willow was cosplaying Biffle. Her brown suit was neatly fitted, her dress shoes shiny, and the golden monocle flashed in the light. She had a headband with the name "Biffle," written on a piece of clear plastic, like the names in Minecraft. Golden bee wings rested on her back and she had several bee themed charms and jewelry scattered around her costume. She had on gold makeup and had drawn little bee's under the corners of her eyes.

"Your Sigils cosplay is pretty cool too!" Willow moved Vesper to a spot where she could see her friend better.

Vesper had on black pants, a bright green t-shirt, and white shoes. On her back rested black dragon wings with gray and purple patches. The left half of her face was painted with the same colors, and she had a purple contact lens in her left eye. Her right eye had a sparkling green contact lens in it. She had on a fluffy brown wig with a black baseball cap on, which was facing backwards. She had a similar headband to Willow's, but it said "Sigils" instead of "Biffle." She was holding a diamond sword and had several trinkets and charms attached to her belt, wings, and hair.

Willow laughed when she saw the two yellow ducks dangling from Vesper's ears. "Pairofducks reference, nice." Vesper grinned at her friend. "The comments on those videos though, half of them ask for more uploads and the other half are screaming that he's actually Sigils."

The two stayed in the corner and chatted for a little while, catching up over fruit snacks that Vesper had in her little backpack. Willow paused and checked her phone. "It's almost 1, do you want to start the hunt?"

Vesper looked at her. "For Sigils?"

Willow gave her a "duh" look. "Yes, Sigils."

Vesper pulled her own phone out. "I know where his booth is at. It's by the other authors over where I came in."

"Did you see him?" Willow asked, eyes wide.

"No, I was in such a hurry to find you, to be honest," Vesper admitted. She gave her friend an awkward thumbs up and Willow playfully punched her in the shoulder.

"Excuse me?"

The two turned to see a little kid, about the age of 10, staring at them. "Are you guys cosplaying Sigils and Biffle from Camp Minecraft?"

"We are, actually!" Willow looked surprised. "Can I take a picture with you guys?" The little girl asked, a big smile on her face.

"Sure!" Vesper smiled back. The mom positioned them on either side of the girl and snapped a few photos on her phone.

"Could you get some on mine?" Vesper handed the mom her phone and a few more pictures were taken. "Thank you so much," the mom said, shaking the girls' hand's. "We're actually on our way to Sigils' booth, then she saw you guys and wanted pictures."

"We're actually headed there too!" Willow exclaimed. "That's awesome," the little girl exclaimed. "You can come with us."

"We'd like that," Vesper smiled at her. "What's your name?"

"I'm Devyn, Devyn Adamson, and this is my mom," Devyn said.

"Well it's nice to meet you Devyn. I'm Vesper, and this is Willow." Vesper pointed to herself, then to her friend. "It's very nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too," Willow said. "Should we go?" Devyn nodded excitedly, grabbed Willow's hand, and pulled the older girl ahead. Vesper started walking besides the mom. "Devyn seems super excited to meet Sigils."

"We've been reading the Debt Collection series together and when she heard that he was attending the con we both felt we needed to go," Mrs Adamson said. "How about you two?"

"Willow and I have been fans of him since Covid, or at least I have. I've watched a lot of his content and his friends' content, and I even have an original copy of Soul Fraud." She opened her bag and pulled the book out to show the older woman.

"We have the new covers,' Mrs Adamson said. "We didn't get it in time, unfortunately."

"I got mine for Christmas the year after it was released, I feel lucky," Vesper admitted. "I brought it to get signed. I'm pretty excited." She rubbed her arm awkwardly. "I'm pretty nervous too."

Devyn's mom put an arm on her shoulder. "You'll be fine. I'm sure of it. Is this your first con?"

Vesper shook her head. "This is my fourth, but I still get nervous meeting famous people."

Mrs Adamson gave her a comforting smile and they both hurried to catch up with Willow and Devyn.

They found them already in line, Devyn jumping up and down in excitement. "Do you think he'll recognize who I'm cosplaying?" She asked, looking happily at her new friends.

"Not without this," Devyn's mom pulled a gray baseball cap out of her bag. It had a floating name on it, like Vesper's and Willow's, but this one said "Zud" on it. Devyn grabbed it and put it on, then beamed up at Willow. "Does it look good?"

"I think it looks awesome," Willow told the girl. Devyn started dancing in circles around the other two cosplayers. "Can you see him?" Willow asked Vesper, standing on tiptoe to see over the people in front.

"I caught a glimpse of him when we found you guys in line, but no." Vesper gave her friend's hand a comforting squeeze. "We'll be ok, we've watched his content for years." Willow gave Vesper a hug. "I'm so glad that this is happening."

The line moved like a snail, but luckily they had a good spot in line, so they soon reached the front. Devyn was jumping excitedly again. "Mom, I can see him," she squealed. "I can too, honey," her mom said. She looked at the two girls with them. "Do you guys want to come with us?"

"You guys are more than welcome to go first," Vesper said warmly. "I feel like Devyn might explode if she has to wait any longer." The large group of people in front of them moved and Devyn waved goodbye.

Vesper and Willow leaned against the low wall surrounding the booth. "This is so cool, there's so many people here to meet him," Willow said happily. "I'm glad that people like his books, and his content too."

Someone behind them shouted, "Nice Bifgils cosplays!" Vesper turned around and stood on tiptoe to see who shouted it. Someone dressed as one of the Fae waved, the group around them dressed as the Fae Royalty from Dandelion Audit. "Thanks! I like your Princess Ash cosplay!" Vesper shouted back.

"Thanks!" They shouted back. "I think we're friends now, want to meet up behind the booth when we're done?" Vesper grinned at Willow. "Heck yeah!" Willow shouted back. "We'll be waiting for you!"

A couple other cosplayers, both from the Minecraft series that Sigils' had participated in as well as the Debt Collection series exchanged a couple words with Willow, Vesper, and the Fae cosplayers in the back. "I think I see a Ssundee a couple groups behind us," Willow laughed, pointing to a Ssundee-Henwy duo behind a Lilith cosplayer.

A supervisor leaned over to them. "Looks like the kid in front of you is almost done, you ready?" Willow and Vesper nodded excitedly, Willow doing a double take when she looked at the guy again.

"Henwy?"

He waved sheepishly. "Are all of you here?" Vesper asked, a look of shock on her face. Henwy nodded. "Ole Sigi Bigi didn't want random people assigned to his booth so he got us here instead." Vesper and Willow grinned at each other. "This is the best day ever!"

"Can I take a photo with you," Vesper asked sheepishly. "I know most people are here to meet Sigils but this is still cool." Henwy nodded, "I'm down. You'd be surprised how many people Biffle, Nico, and I have scared today. A lot of people don't really pay attention to the people they aren't here to see so they weren't expecting us. It's kinda great." Vesper pulled her phone out and opened her camera. She leaned up against Henwy and snapped a couple photos. Willow joined for a few, then took some of her own.

"Thank you so much," Willow said to the Brit. "You guys mean so much to us, and that may sound weird coming from people you've never met before but you guys are awesome." "Thanks!" Henwy smiled. "You guys are one of the reasons we're all here today, so I think I owe it to you guys."

He let the two cosplayers hug him then gave them a thumbs up. "Have fun meeting Sigils!" "We will," Vesper smiled. She noticed Devyn's mom picking up her purse, so she leaned back over. "Does Sigils have photos at all?"

"He does," Henwy confirmed. "The rest of us are photobombing." Vesper laughed. "We'll be there!"

Devyn and her mom were shown the exit, the little girl waved excitedly at the two girls. "We'll wait for you," she mouthed. Henwy grinned. "You're up."

Vesper started nervously stimming, so Willow had to drag the girl to the table. The cosplayer took one look at the author and hid her face in her hands. "Vesper, you're fine," Willow laughed. "No I'm not, he's taller than I thought he'd be."

Henwy let out a laugh from behind them. Sigils threw his hands up in defeat. "Why does everyone say that," he sighed. Vesper looked up at him. "Maybe it's because of all the short jokes people make." He let out his iconic laugh and Vesper relaxed.

"I have so much to say but no way to say it," Willow said. "This is awesome." "A lot of people seem to be awestruck today," Sigils said. He pointed to a few piles of his books. "You guys want a signed book?"

"I actually brought one to be signed," Vesper said, pulling out her original copy. "Ayyyy OG gang," someone from the line shouted. Vesper held up her book and spun around. "It completes the fit," she told him. "I'm cosplaying you by the way."

"That's... wow." He was quiet for a moment, studying the outfit she was wearing. "I've mixed your two Minecraft skins together, then added a couple different things like the Ender Dragon wings." She pointed to her duck earrings and added, "I also put in a Pairofducks reference because I think we all know it's you at this point."

Sigils raised his eyebrows. "I'm neither confirming nor denying." Vesper laughed, held out her book and he took a moment to sign the inside. "Thank you so much," Vesper said. "You and everyone else really mean a lot to us so the fact that I'm here right now is just mind blowing."

"Well I'm glad that you're here. All the support really means a lot to me and I appreciate my fans very much." He let Vesper hug him, then Willow. "A little birdy told us you have photo ops later, so we'll take photos with you then if that's ok," Willow said. Sigils playfully glared at Henwy who raised his hands in mock surrender. "You can take pictures now if you want," he told them.

"We'll do both," Vesper said, pulling her phone out. They all took their fair share of photos, then did a group hug. "Henwy get over here," Sigils called. The British man joined them. When they all let go, Vesper and Willow shook hands with the two content creators. "You guys should probably get going so I can meet everyone else."

"We'll see you at photos Sigi," Vesper called as they walked out of the booth. They waved goodbye to the two Youtubers and rounded the corner of the booth where Devyn and her mom were waiting for them.

"How was it," Devyn asked. She was clutching a book in her arms. "Did you get your book signed?" Vesper laughed and crouched down to show her. "He's really nice, isn't he," Mrs Adamson said. Willow nodded. "His Youtube videos are kid friendly too."

Vesper got up and said, "He wrote a really sweet message." "What does it say," Willow asked, peering over Vesper's shoulder to read it. "You're the first person I've ever seen cosplay my character! It looks awesome! Thank you for your support! Sigils." Willow looked up. "That's really nice of him."

They stayed there and chatted, people walking past them holding autographed books of the Debt Collection series. Eventually the Ssundee-Henwy duo got out, as well as the group of Fae in the back, and they all started to introduce themselves.

Devyn's mom checked the time, then picked up her daughter. "We've got to go, I'm afraid. Her dad is coming home from a work trip and we need to pick him up from the airport." She handed Vesper a card. "That's my business card with my cell on it. I'm sure Devyn would love to keep chatting with you." They waved goodbye and resumed talking with each other.

"The ending of Dandelion Audit left me in ruins I tell you. Ruins," the Princess Ash cosplayer, Quinn was her name, was saying. The Queen Glorianna cosplayer, who's name was legitimately Ash, said, "I was so glad when I got the ARC for Star Summit. I read the whole thing in a day." Vesper laughed. "I'm still excited for Death Tax."

She looked at everyone else. "I've had to change my review of Star Summit four times because he keeps announcing new stuff for the series. Four freaking times."

The Ssundee cosplayer, Alex, laid his hand on Vesper's shoulder. "I think we'll all need therapy once this series is done. Reviews will only be a small part of that." The group laughed at the seriousness in his voice. He cracked a smile, pulled down his sunglasses to reveal the notorious blue eyes and crossed them, making himself look like Derp Ssundee. They laughed even harder.

Vesper checked her watch. "We've been here for two hours. Photos start soon, shall we go?"

The Fae linked arms, Vesper linked arms with Willow, Alex, and the Henwy cosplayer, who's name was actually Henry.

"Let's go!"

They broke arms and started running, all of them laughing with exhilaration. Vesper smacked into Willow, causing the older girl to fumble before smacking her right back. Alex and Henry smirked at each other and raced for the nearest opening in the crowd. Vesper took a deep breath and grinned. Today was awesome.

A/N: I'm noticing a pattern here... Oneshots tend to be upwards of 2000 words but a regular Undead chapter is lucky to get 1800 words... I'm hoping I'm not going over some limit and making it boring!!! Anyways, this was fun to write.  There's one I want to do based off a conversation or a dream or something like that that happened after I told Sigils there was fanfiction on Wattpad where the Regulars made an account, interacted with us without us knowing, made a video, posted it, we freaked out and ended up doing a Google Meet with them for some reason. That never actually happened it was a dream, wishful thinking if you will ok do not think that was real. Hope you liked it!
