"I told you to wear a coat Jimmy," Scott said, throwing a blanket over his lover. He shook his head, amused by the situation. "Now look what you've done."
"Y-y-you weren't wearing a c-coat—" Jimmy said through chattering teeth as he stayed close to the fire place.
"Jimmy," Scott said sighing slightly, "I have ice powers, Jimmy. I don't need a coat." The elf walked over to the kitchen, checking on the soup he had started. Jimmy huffed, curling up in the blanket.
Scott added a Oxeye Daisy to the stew before bringing it back to Jimmy. "Here, there's more if your still hungry after." Scott said, giving him the bowl. The elf got up again, looking for a book.
"T-t-thanks," Jimmy said, still shaking from the cold. The soup was a nice change in temperature, giving a bit of warmth to his hands. Jimmy looked up and out a window, frowning.
Meanwhile Scott found his book, then got two more blankets. He came back to Jimmy with a soft smile on his face. He sat on the floor with him, making himself comfortable.
The elf looked up and noticed Jimmy's expression. "Jimmy? Is everything alright?"
"Y-yeah," the cod said pulling the blankets around him. "I'm s-s-sorry I'm making-g you miss the W-Winter Fest party." Jimmy drooped into the blankets, bringing them up to his nose.
Scott chuckled, hugging him. "Oh Jimmy, it's fine. I don't mind it. If your sick that comes first. Although," Scott smirked a bit, a mischievous look in his eyes. "You could try wearing a coat and you could've avoided this all together."
Jimmy huffed again before taking a drink of the soup. He frowned. "Did you put something in it?"
"Just Oxeye Daisy. You know, for the healing." Scott hummed, settling into the pile of blankets and pulling out his book.
"Oh okay then. I wondered why it tastes different." He said, taking another sip.
Scott laughed. "Jimmy— Jimmy did you think I poisoned it or something?"
"No! I just—"
Scott pulled him closer. "I'm messing with you, Jimmy." He said with a playful roll of his eyes.
"O-oh." Jimmy chuckled a bit, then settled his head into Scott's shoulder. Scott smiled, putting an arm around him before opening the book.
Jimmy looked over at the pages, squinting. "How in the world can you read that? It's gibberish."
"Jimmy it's Elvish. Rivendell's native language I thought you knew this—" Scott said, quickly sitting up to look at him.
"I thought you all spoke common?"
"Well we do now obviously. We spoke Elvish first."
"It still looks like gibberish to me. What does it say anyway?" Jimmy asked, looking at the lines of words.
"It's poetry Jimmy." Scott said looking back at the pages.
"Is it good?"
"Well I wouldn't be reading it if it was bad would I?"
"Can you translate it?"
"Yes, Jimmy."
.....
"Can you um. Translate it out loud?" Jimmy asked leading on his lover's shoulder.
Scott rolled his eyes again with a smirk. "Sure Jimmy." He said, turning the pages until he found his favorite.
Scott read the pages, saying each line first in elvish, then translating it to common. After about an hour Jimmy was sleeping soundly, leaning against Scott while the elf played with his hair.
Finally Scott closed the book, setting it down and pulling Jimmy into his arms, giving him a kiss on the forehead. "Happy Winter Fest, Jimmy." He whispered in his ear. It wasn't long before Scott was sleeping too. Snow fell softly outside as the two lovers slept.
