Soft Stomps

Lucas tapped on his desk as he looked around.

Scoping out his surroundings while looking out for his boyfriend. Trying his best to keep calm as he waited patiently.

It made him feel anxious waiting for his boyfriend.

"Lucas, what's wrong?"

"It's nothing, Junguwu."

Jungwoo shrugged as he continued looking out of the classroom window. Staring down at the sight of students walking around. Socializing as they made way with their time.

Even though he seemed composed, he was having a conversation with himself.

Trying to talk himself out of speaking his mind on what he truly felt.

Barely grazing the surface of trying not to confess what's already known. Understanding that what he may be thinking is not easily accepted.

"It's a pity that we unintentionally fall in love, but intentionally keep the feelings." Jungwoo muttered.

"What do you mean?"

Jungwoo let out a weak, but audible sigh. Wondering if what he going to say was appropriate.

"It's easy to rid feelings. You simply have to realize how that person is no good for you. Tell yourself how much they hurt you."

"It's not that simple. You out of all people should know that." Lucas huffed out.

"Ouch" Jungwoo said with a fake cry, smirking afterward at the small but fatal rebuttal.

It felt like a slap to the face to hear that. Making it obvious that Lucas knew that it was painfully for Jungwoo to see him with someone else.

Touching.

Kissing.

Hugging.

The hickeys that were left out to see.

"Why do you do this to me?" Jungwoo asked as he scratched his nails against the desk's cold surface.

"What do I do to you?"

Jungwoo bit his lip as he rubbed the back of his neck.

It felt painful to have to carry a burden by himself. Having to live with the memory of a drunken mistake while the other person walked away free.

He wanted to ask Lucas if the scratches on his back were still there.

Tempted to ask him "Did your boyfriend make those?".

"You told me that you loved me."

"Don't I always tell you that?"

"Tell me again."

Jungwoo felt guilty asking for such a thing. Toxic was what he had become.

"I'm only hurting myself." He thought to himself.

Lucas was going to say it before suddenly feeling his phone vibrate in his pocket. Breaking the nervous smile he had.

As he ran out of the classroom to receive the call, Jungwoo shook his head.

"I hope recess ends soon." He muttered.

Even though he despised the idea of Lucas dating someone, he shrugged.

"It's okay to give up" Jungwoo said as he looked out of the window."

Drawing a broken heart in dusty corners. Not minding any of the tiny cobwebs.

"It's okay"
