Worth Being Happy For (Tubbo)

Toby sat on top of their favourite rooftop once more. They lifted the piece of cigarette from their mouth and exhaled a chunk of smoke.

The sounds of chirping on an early morning with clear orangy-pink skies, their brown hair blew backwards, catching the winds while they closed their brown eyes.

The smoke blew to their right, their head tilted downwards casually. Life was going well for Toby Smith, who's to blame them? Smoking is meant to be like that after all, isn't it?

Well, yeah, I guess, they was loving this peaceful morning until a buzz in the front pocket of their dark red hoodie was heard.

The boy stared at his pocket in laziness and curiosity before getting the frustration to actually pull out their phone and check what seemed to be a recognisable number.

They tapped the green call button, then without hesitation, answered; "No."

"-Tubbo! I just wanted to say- wait- did you just say 'no'!? what the hell, man! I haven't even told you what I want yet!"

Toby muted their microphone and inhaled more smoke, breathing out through both their nose and mouth then unmuted before they said; "Yeah, and no. I'm busy."

"Busy doing what?!" The younger spat back.

"Stuff." they replied bluntly.

"What stuff!? Tubbo, I need Big Law to save me from Fundy and Eret! Join VC!"

Meanwhile, Toby was exhaling another chunk of smoke. They unmuted themself once more and simply stated; "Dude, I'm not even home."

This left the other speechless, all Toby could hear was a small confused "What?"

"Yeah, and I said I'm busy, come back to me later and apologise for snapping at me andfor forcing me to join MineCraft for you. Goodbye."

Toby knew that once they got home, they will realise how unnatural they just acted to his friend, but they decided not to worry, instead, they continued dangling their feet over the edge of the building and watched the sky turn a dark purple.

The transparency between the smoke and the air was obviously different, their smoke could be considered thick enough to throw your hand in and form a shape before it dies out.

"Tubbo you're... You're mean." The man replied on the other side, quickly ending the call in sadness but only making Toby laugh about it.

Normally, Toby sits up here on this abandoned building with his best friend Tom, but he happened to be out of town for a school trip. - It didn't matter, the ocean view was still beautiful.

One day, he promised himself that he will buy this building off of whoever owned it, and he will turn it into his own studio, the bottom floor being where his computer was, leading to the outside where he would rebuild the pool and the second floor which happened to be slightly bigger (yet also one room) will be the personal bedroom if he ever needed it.

but of course, he would always have his normal top floor, the rooftop that he enjoyed sitting on top of, admiring the colours of the skies.

Something told him it was never going to stay forever, but hey, who cares?

He inhaled again. I mean, what's the point? They thought.

Then exhaled. Life isn't just short, some people die just weeks after they were born. They let the carbon dioxide brush across their cheek as it left to pollute the skies.

We are some of the lucky ones. There was another casual inhale, the birds began to chirp and their eyes closed to let it all process. We've lived long enough to understand a few things about how the world works.

Exhaled. And that's still a big achievement.

Inhaled.

Because of how small these moments are...

You have to make every second worth it, because when you die, you will have seven minutes to look back in life.

Those seven minutes are important, because they say a lot about you.

So why live a life where we're sad everyday?

Sure, that sadness can't just be thrown away into the trash and forgotten...

But it can be dealt with.

Because there are people who care.

There are strangers in this world, who could live on the other side of the planet, and they could be thinking about you, about me.

People care. They will help you change things.

But ultimately, you have to want that help.

Make a few laughs. Make a few moments. Make a few smiles.

Be happy.

And help others seek that happiness as well.

Because one day, you'll look back to these days...

...And you'll remember...

...You'll remember how young and free you really were...

...So live a life worth looking back on...

He dropped his cigarette off the building and slowly climbed his way down.
