Ultimate Spiderman (1) Alexanders
THIS IS NOT CLASS REUNION IM STILL WRITING THAT
Iron fist punched a hole into the subway, following Spidey's orders.
White Tiger jumped in, evacuating everyone while Power Man jumped onto the rails, toughening up for a big hit.
Then, in came Spider man and Nova.
"Good work, team! Keep it up! Nova and I are gonna try to hitch a ride on the train and slow this thing down!" The spider said, landing on top of a bench as Nova went into the tunnel.
Spider Man shot a web at Nova as the bucket head grabbed it, commenting; "Hold on tight, Webhead! If you need me to stop, I won't!"
"Sure, Buckethead! There's no way you're faster than this traaaAAAIIIINNNN!" Spidey instantly started yelling as Nova went hyperspeed with the nova force.
Sooner than expected, they found the speeding train that was told to explode in a matter of minutes.
Nova threw Spider Man at the window, shattering it as he landed on the driver that he did his best to protect from the broken glass.
Then Nova casually made his way in. Faking a yawn.
"Yeah, right." Spidey sassed, seeing the bucket head wave his hand over his 'yawn'.
"Dude, I can fly faster than this thing! And I've saved a space jet from falling before! And that jet was definitely falling faster than this thing!"
"Okay! Okay- Argh!" The train's controls blew upon him "Whatever! Nova, can you stop this train?"
Nova turned to Spidey as if he was joking. "Didn't you just listen to me? Of course, I can!" With that, he flew out to the front and gripped it.
The Nova used all of his NovaForce to push the train and stop it while Spidey ran to the passengers, gathering them all to the very end of the train.
"Everyone crowd into the back!" He picked up an old lady and calmly walked her into the crowd.
Then the spider created a wall, sealing them in until he felt it was safe to disassemble them from the train.
Spidey ran back to the front, seeing Nova use all of his strength to stop the train. It was working but it the anxiety in him made him want to stop the train faster. He ran to the giant hole in the back, stepped outside and crawled under the train.
The spider carefully crawled through, mentally saying; "Kids, don't do this at home."
He shot an explosive web at one wheel. Then another. Then another.
He continued doing this until the first part of the train fell and started dragging at the rails, putting Spider Man's life at risk as he quickly crawled back up.
Spidey felt his right foot graze painfully at something. It hurt. But this train needs to stop.
He ran back to Nova again to see him starting to yell as the Nova Force in him glowed bigger than it ever did before.
At that moment. The train nudged backwards, tumbling Spider Man over to his back with a surprised grunt.
The Buckethead flew in casually, falling to his knees panting. He walked over to the fallen spider."C'mon Spidey." He held his hand out to the WebHead. "This thing is gonna blow soon."
Webs didn't reply. Not even with a handy quip. He grabbed Nova's hand with a big grip and pulled up, but tripped over his ankle.
This shocked Nova who grabbed him by the other shoulder quickly, allowing the WebHead to stand upright while being supported by the other.
"You okay?!' He asked.
"Agh..." Spidey tiredly looks down at his ankle, showing that the fabric at that area had a giant hole, the skin showing was burnt black and had some red in the middle.
What terrified Nova the most were the lines that came from it, it was obvious from the kinetic energy. Spidey must've accidentally hit the foot against the subway walls or something to heat it up bad.
"Oh god, Webs..." Nova sighed in a worrying way. "What did you do?"
The hero glowed blue and lifted himself and his half-conscious friend into the air. he slowly levitated through the broken glass at the windshield, careful not the scratch Spidey's foot at the broken glass.
Then he quickly flew as fast as he could, through the tunnel, and out the nearest exit, which was also the one that they both came from. The sound of loud explosions could be heard behind them.
---
"Is Spidey gonna be alright?" Power Man asked Dr Conners, also known as SHEILD's best doctor.
Conner's nodded. "Spider Man may not have the strength of a super-soldier, but he's got a healing factor and a strong heart. He'll be alright, I'm not sure when he'll be standing or crawling though."
The team nodded at Conners as he made his way to the ship where Spidey was placed onto a wheeled bed.
The ship flew off, and I bet everyone knows where it went.
Iron Fist turned to Nova. "What could cause such a burn? A cosmic blast?"
The Buckethead threw his hands up in defence. "No! I'd never hurt in that sort of way!"
"Don't worry, Nova." White Tiger replied, turning to Iron Fist. "There were lines on Spidey's foot; it looked like as if he grazed his foot against the train or something - It wasn't Nova's fault."
Iron Fist nodded. "That burn looks like it would take a rather long while to heal even with a healing factor."
"No kidding," Nova added. "You should've seen it when we were I'm that train - at the time, one part of it was still glowing red."
Hearing that few shivers down all their spines.
"I say, when he's fully conscious, we go visit with the Web-Warriors and support him for what happened." He looked down st the team. "Who wants to call them?"
"Maybe we should tell Aunt May first." White Tiger budged in. "She should know before any other superhero."
The bucket head nodded. "Yeah, it's only fair she knows first."
---
The door opened to Sam, Ava, Luke and Danny waiting outside at the front.
"Hey! If it isn't Peter's old friends! And Sam! I haven't seen you all in ages!" Ant May greeted.
"Hey, Mrs Parker!" Ava smiled, following the others inside. They made their way to the living room, bit found the entire Web Warriors there anyways.
Ben sat on a single sofa. Miles, Amadeus and Flash sat on the bigger sofa.
"Oh!" Sam sarcastically said. "We weren't expecting you guys!"
Ben frowned. "Drop it." He looked at Sam. "We were here first."
Danny rushed between both groups holding his arms out between them. "It's okay, we're not here to stay, Web Warriors."
"Yeah, that's good." Commented Flash who got the approval of Ben by nodding.
Sam still kept his glare at Ben until Aunt May walked in. "Sam, Ava, Danny... Luke told me you guys wanted to talk about something... What's going on?"
Ben noticed her eyes of concern, he whispered into Miles who nodded in agreement as he watched the ultimates follow Aunt May into the diner.
"I'll go." Miles turned on camouflage mode and carefully crawled onto the ceiling, watching the entire conversation go down.
"Aunt May..." Sam started. "Spidey's injured himself a bit..."
The amazing aunt gasped. "Oh dear, is Peter alright?"
Sam nodded as Danny continued. "Doctor Conners says that he'll be staying in the tricarrier until he heals, which will take many weeks."
Aunt May sighed. "What happened?"
They all turned to Sam, who immediately manned up and sighed. "We were stopping a train that was going really fast, and Spidey must've hit his foot against something while trying to take out the wheels on the back of the train... It's a bad burn."
"It's not that serious, but we wanted to tell you in case you worry," Ava added.
The others nodded, with eager eyes, they watched Aunt May sigh.
"It's alright." She said. "You made a good choice to tell me what happened."
Luke shrugged. "What can we say?" He leaned against the wall. "Family comes first, right?"
Aunt May smiled. "Yes. They always do..."
With that, the team left Aunt May in the diner apart from Sam, who was staring coldly at the floor.
"Sam?" Aunt May places a palm at his shoulder. "Everything alright?"
"N- no..." He replied.
Hearing so, Aunt May placed her second hand on his other shoulder. "What's wrong?"
"I-... Argh... I'm just thinking... When Luke said that family comes first... I don't know... I felt something..."
"Hm?" Aunt May stepped closer to he nephew's best friend. "What do you mean?"
"I- I'm not sure... It's like something in the back of my mind is yelling someone's name... I think I'm trying to remember something!"
Aunt May sighed. "Do you know who your family is?" She stared into his eyes.
He shook his head and closed his eyes, trying to remember his past. "I- No, I give up."
Sam went into his shoulder bag, taking out his black helmet and putting it on.
Sam's uniform flew instantly onto him as his eyes begun glowing. He turned around to Aunt May. "I- I'm gonna go... Don't worry about me- worry about Parker.
With that, he flew off.
---
It's been two days since Spider Man had his accident. Today, he was finally able to stand up even if his foot hurt through every moment.
But this was still a win to the spider because every step did no further damage to the inside.
He could finally go back to web-slinging! Even better, he can finally go back home! Spidey made his way to the edge of the tricarrier preparing to jump when a hand suddenly gripped his shoulder.
"Are you supposed to be up, Webs?" It was Nova, but why was he concerned?
Spidey turned around to see his bucket head friend, not wearing a bucket. His eyes widened."Sam?" He almost yelled confused. "Aren't you supposed to be training or something?"
Sam placed his hands on his hips and nodded. "I accidentally overslept. What about it?"
Spidey stood up straight. Thinking about how he saw a bright blue light fly into the sky. "Huh. You've been doing that a lot lately, everything okay? Is something in space bothering you?"
Seeing Sam hesitate a little, Spidey took his mask off and placed a hand on Sam's shoulders. "Sam... You know you can trust me... I know when there's something bothering you."
"H- this isn't about me, Parker! I was asking about YOU- but- h- how do you- how do you know?"
Peter sighed. "Danny told me you were acting up, so I asked Aunt May who said you looked like you were having what seemed like an episode to her... Then I asked Fury for details about your past, but since he said no, I asked Cho to help me hack in- and surprisingly, he was more than glad to help! I'm not sure why..."
Sam's hands left his hips. "You hacked into S.H.I.E.L.D to find my past?"
Peter nodded, showing a hologram of the files he found. "I didn't know you were suffering from amnesia, Sam... I'm... Sorry..."
"Hey, no need to be sorry." Sam pointed at the files. "Besides, I don't think I'm suffering from amnesia."
"What do you think happened then?"
"I have bets that someone in the galaxy with extreme telepathy forced me to forget my family. There's no other way I could've lost them."
With that, Peter nodded. "I've got three plans. A) we find out who did this and ask for your memories back. B) we go to space and try getting them using some other telepathic hero in the galaxy. And C) we learn your past by seeing your files."
Sam nodded. "The last one seems better. It would be hard to find things in the galaxy, trust me."
"Then plan C it is! Your files say that we should go to a small area down in Carefree Arizona. Ever heard of it?" Peter asked, getting his mask ready.
The bucketless bucket head shook his head. (lol). "Not sure, I'm kinda feeling a bell but it's not that strong." He replied.
"That's good enough," Spidey replied, tapping a button at his watch. The Spidey cycle instantly drifted and parked in front of the two. Spidey made his way on.
"I may have been in the medics. But rumour has it that a certain Nova has been avoiding his own helmet unless leaving at night to go sleep in a quiet area called space." Spidey crossed his arms.
"And I only know of one Nova during my life of friendship."
Sam sighed. "Yeah... That's a thing too." He mentally called for his helmet which came flying fast into his arms and carefully placed it onto his head. "I can explain on the way."
"No problem, it'll be a long flight. Hop on."
Nova made his way to the spider cycle, he sat behind Spider Man and held tightly as it began speeding off the tricarrier.
---
"So your saying-" The spider cycle whipped a web at another building as Spidey casually continued talking. "-That your emotions are controlling your powers? How?"
Nova shrugged, tensing up as the cycle dropped again onto the motorway. "Not sure how it works. But I do know for a fact that my helmet has the kind of power that can destroy planets with a big blast."
Spidey let his eyes widen. "Wow... That's... Terrifying..."
Nova nodded, tightening his grip around Spidey as the spider cycle sped up under an empty motorway tunnel. "Yeah! But y'know what's more terrifying?" He tensed. "Being a backseat, with you at the front!"
"Hey!" The Web-Head instantly replied. "Take that back! I have great driving skills!"
"Tsk! Sure!" Nova tensed up again when the two exited the tunnel and drove off a bridge. "If I get angry - which I have been for the past few days, I might lose control! That's why I haven't been talking to people much!" Nova shouted through the loud sounds of cars and trucks on the motorway.
"Makes sense! But I think your good at handling your emotions anyways!" Spidey commented.
"Yeah? Well, how do you explain the destruction of Mole Monster? I blasted him too hard I left him unconscious!"
Spidey sped up his cycle, keeping his eyes on the road as every driver should and I recommend you keeping your eyes on the road when you drive and I don't care how old you are because when u start driving YOU BETTER KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE ROAD.
"Yeah, well sometimes you have to let things out! Take it from me! When Uncle Ben died, I felt destroyed! I took it out on the one man that murdered Uncle Ben."
"Yeah, but did you KILL him?" Nova asked, griping once more as the cycle sped up.
"No. That's because the murderer- whether he was a murderer or not, shouldn't die from my hands. I didn't want to become like him. That's why I handed him to the police."
They had a moment of silence during the drive until Nova spoke up again. "If you could see that man one more time... As Peter Parker, what would you say to him?"
Spidey thought before he spoke. "Well, if I did go as Peter Parker, it wouldn't matter... He knows who I am, and he hasn't said a word to anyone, not even the police."
"Yeah, maybe that's because he doesn't know who Peter Parker is?"
"Nope! He knows the name of my uncle, Ben Parker. Nothing's stopping him from saying 'Ben Parker's nephew'. The NYPD would've visited me by then."
Nova didn't reply, he just nodded to the end of the conversation.
"Oh hey, we made it!" Spidey said, stopping the cycle in front of the house that the GPS led them to.
"This is the place?" Nova got off the motorcycle, looking around the area. "It's pretty quiet..."
The sun was setting, so the sky wasn't all black, but a shade of dark blue with a little purple on one side.
The house they were parked in front of was small, smaller than Peter's. The exterior walls were white, and it only had one floor. Though this house did have a garage.
Spidey got off his cycle and made to Nova's shoulder. "Let's see if your family still live here."
Nova nodded and took his helmet off. The neighbourhood seemed really quiet, so they didn't think it mattered. Spidey took off his mask and grabbed some trousers and a hoodie to put over his suit.
Eventually, it was just Sam and Peter. Peter took some keys out of his pockets and pressed a button. The Spidey cycle immediately turned invisible.
"Cloaking device." Sam smiled. "Nice."
The two turned back to the house, Peter followed Sam to the door and they knocked.
When the door opened, they weren't expecting a little girl.
She had long brown hair and a purple headband keeping it straight. Her eyes were a soothing shade of green and fit well with her skin that coincidentally matched Sam's. She wore a pink frock and purple tights and when she looked up to Peter, she was confused.
But when she turned to Sam, her eyes started sparkling as tears begged to leave. She gasped.
Sam knelt down to the girl. "Hey." He whispered.
Without replying, the little girl flung her arms around him yelling. "SAM!" with many voice cracks.
After her yell, the boys heard to more women gasp behind the door and a lady ran outside having literally the same reaction as the little girl.
She had blue denim shorts that slightly went over her knees and a frail pink hoodie. "Sam!?" She gasped, joining the hug with the little girl.
Another girl after the other two came out. This one looked like she was a similar age to the boys.
She had black trousers on and a dirty white tank top, her hair was long and black with a vivid purple on the front.
"Sam!?" She gasped, not joining the group hug though.
Sam chuckled. "Uhhh- Heyy!" He grinned. Breaking the hug from the younger girl and the older girl.
He scratched the back of his neck, confused as to what to say next.
Peter, noticing this, nudged him. "Do you recognize any of them." He whispered.
Sam slightly nodded. "The little girl's my sister, Kaelynn." He said aloud and pointed to his beautiful sister.
Sam knelt down to her level and brushed a strand of hair from her eyes. "You are as beautiful as I remember, Kae."
Kaelynn's tears returned once more, she hugged him again, tighter than before, and Sam hugged her back as she sobbed. "I knew you'd come back! I miss you! I missed you so much!"
Hearing her cries, Sam could feel small tears forming on his own eyes, but they didn't fall, they just watered his eyes.
He shut his eyes and righted his hug around her. "I missed you too Kaelynn. You've grown so much! How old are you now?"
"I'm turning nine soon!" She grinned, still tightening her grip around him as if he wasn't real.
Peter crossed his arms as the two embraced their hug. He turned to the other two girls. "So who are you both?" He pointed. "Mrs and Miss Alexanders?"
The girl similar to Peters age blushed. "N- no!" She hesitated into saying. "I'm Kaelynn's babysitter."
The older woman brought her hand out expecting a shake. "I'm Mrs Alexander, but you can call me Eva - Samuel's mother. Who are you? Where'd you find my son?! Thank you!" She had a soothing Spanish accent.
Peter accepted her handshake, but didn't expect her to place her other hand over his the moment she said: "thank you".
"Well... Eva... My name's Peter Parker, but Peter for short. Sam and I have been friends for the past few years, he's suffered from what we think might be-"
"-Amnesia? I know" Sam's mother interrupted. "Sam's Nova helmet tracker showed us a hologram of the one that did this to him."
"Wait-!?" Peter's eyes widened. "You know he's Nova!?"
Mrs Alexander smirked. "Of course! We're a family! Sam used to tell us everything! Kaelynn and I have never lost hope for Sam." She turned to her son, seeing him let go and turn to his mother.
"Mom, thank you for having hope." He grinned.
All this reunion almost made Peter cry. "Hey, it's a long way from New York to Arizona... Can we crash here?"
Kaelynn looked at her mother with beady eyes and her mother replied to the two. "For bringing back my son. Yes! You need to tell me everything that happened! Like WHO you are!"
"-AND Samuel Alexander." Kaelynn's babysitter added. "You and I have some unfinished business to talk about! It's been four years! We need to talk!"
Sam chuckled. "Hey, Carrie! I know. But how about we put that on hold? I'm still getting used to things." He turned back to Peter. "This isn't easy for me." He frowned.
Peter reached for his friend's shoulder. "I can tell, but we need to-"
Peter was rudely interrupted by a loud beeping coming from his wrist. "Fury." He grunted.
"What?" Eva asked, looking at the watch as Peter pressed a button on it.
"Yeah?" Peter asked, waiting for Fury's reply.
"Peter! Where are you? Your team just called in telling me to track you and Sam." A deep voice returned.
"Relaaax, Nick! I'm fine down in AZ! Sam and I are great too, tell someone to tell Aunt May that Sam and I packed for a last-second sleepover party." With that, Peter said nothing more, and nor did he wait for Fury to reply. Instead, the secret spider quickly hung up as soon as possible.
The last thing Sam and Peter ever heard from Fury at that moment before being cut off was; "Wait- ARIZON-?"
Sam smirked, crossing his arms at Pete. "We're so screwed when we get back, you know that, right?"
"Like I'm gonna let S.H.E.I.L.D ruin a tearful family reunion." Peter almost in sass, replied.
The two boys turned back to Mrs Alexander, who was now confused than ever. "Who was that?"
"Mom." Sam placed both his hands on his mother's shoulders. "There's a lot I should tell you."
He calmingly smiled. "For one, that man was Director Fury of S.H.E.I.L.D, also known as our boss."
Her mouth hung. "Come inside, it's getting dark. Plus, if you boys are going to explain anything, it won't be on an empty stomach." She opened the door inside.
---
"So this Director Fury has taught you how to be a great hero?" Mrs Alexander tightened her grip around her mug. "Is he a good man?"
Peter nodded. "I can assure you, ma'am. Fury is one of the greatest men to ever enter our universe." He gave a reassuring smile.
"So... You're both superheroes, Sam is Nova, obviously." She turned to Peter. "Then who are you?"
Pete was about to raise his voice, though cut off by his friend. "-He's Spider Man. Our leader."
Just after Sam interrupted, Peter gave him a look that Sam found hard to tell whether it was jealousy for saying that when Peter should've or confusion as to why Sam was eager to interrupt.
"Spidey's an amazing leader, mom. One of the first things I've ever learnt from him was that we can protect ourselves, but the innocents can't; that's why we're meant to be heroes." He turned to Pete, who's look of jealousy and confusions turned into a slightly surprised look and sadness.
"Uh-huh..." His mom smiled. "Sam, I've seen the internet, he's a mena-"
"Mom!" Sam hissed, realizing what he'd then done. "-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to yell. But, mom, don't believe everything you find on the internet. Spidey's not a menace, J.J.Jonah just hates him for reasons even Fury doesn't understand."
"Spidey's a hero." He continued, looking at his friend who faces continued staring speechlessly in confusion. "He saved so many lives... He turned villains into heroes just by helping them realize the good. It's sometimes like he can see that good, and all he has to do is reach out for it! If you were there for some of those people, you'd understand!"
Pete still stared in shock.
"When goblin attacked the hellicarrier, the place I lived in... Spidey managed to get that thing into the sea before it crashed onto hundreds of lives! Then he grabbed every last survivor in the ship and saved them all through escape pods... It was the first time I've ever seen someone risk whatever it takes to save innocents. Pete's a hero - a great one."
Mrs Alexander gasped through everything Sam told her, she turned to Peter who was staring at Sam, even if Sam wasn't looking back. She could tell that Peter was trying his best to fight a tear from his left eye.
"Is all that true?" She turned to him.
"-" The shocked hero tried to get a word out of his mouth, but his emotions felt like they were toting with him.
"Parker?" Sam asked. "Are you okay?"
Carrie entered the room with a steaming mug in her hands and leaned against the door. "He seems speechless." She commented.
"Heh." Sam snickered. "Peter? Speechless? That never happens, trust me."
"I-..." Was all Peter managed to say.
Noticing that, Sam's eyes widened. "Oh my god, I think he's actually speechless!" He gasped.
"S-Sam- I- I don't know what to say..." The nerd said to his friend. "I mean... Thanks, but-"
"-But what?" The Arizonan boy crossed his arm disappointed. "Dude! If you DARE try to argue back about how your not a good leader, I'm going to fly all the way to S.H.E.I.L.D academy no matter the distance, throw you in there as hard as I can in front of every single hero that's inside so they can watch you, and then I will tell them what you would have just told me right now about yourself."
"I- I mean..." Peter tried to imagine how everyone would reach to him. He could see similar disappointed faces from Sam on theirs. "What your saying is ALREADY gonna give me anxiety, what more do you want?" He smirked and folded his arms.
Mrs Alexander could tell that even though Parker was smiling, he was secretly having a meltdown under his skin. She smirked.
"Sam." She leaned forward to place a hand on her son's knee. "I'm glad you surrounded yourself with good people."
"Thanks, mom. It means a lot." He turned to Carrie. "Where's Kaelynn?"
"Upstairs sleeping." She replied. "Anyways... I thought you said you weren't going to come back to Earth."
Peter raised an eyebrow at Sam.
"Actually, I said I didn't know if I'd ever come back. Turns out I did and I'm only remembering my family now of all times."
"Speaking of which." Mrs Alexander joined in. "Why now?"
Both boys hesitated. How do they mention Aunt May? Sam turned to Peter, then looked down at his ankle. "It's supposed to be hurting badly." He said to Pete.
"It is." Pete nodded. "Badly." He paused again. "I just don't show it."
Sam turned his shocked face real quick. "You know that's not really good, right? You should at least let someone know about it being bad."
"Since when did you care?"
"Since I was the first to see it in it's worst form-"
"-That's not what I mean, Sam!" Peter yelled. "I mean- since when did you eve-"
"-AHEM" Mrs Alexander who was growing anxiously tired interrupted on Carrie's and her town's behalf. "What're you two talking about?"
"Oh. Sorry, Mom... A while ago, I and Spider-Man were tryna stop a train and rescue it's passengers before the whole thing exploded..." Sam began.
"I worked on pushing the train at the front, and Spidey worked on the back. He was trying to take out the wheels but he got his foot stuck somewhere while the train was still moving. The damage looked really bad..."Sam shook at the thoughts of the grazed skin still glowing red like ember coming out of a fire. He couldn't believe Parker's guts to not tell anyone that it still hurts.
"It was meant to take weeks to heal." He faced Pete again with an angered voice. Eva looked at Peter.
"Can I see the wound?" She politely asked.
"Uh, are you sure?" Pete asked back to her.
Eva nodded, and he took off his shoes, then removed the Spider-socks, and pulled up his tights.
The wound was still big. To the boys, it was bigger a few days ago, but to the girls, it frightened them.
Especially the part where it was shown clearly where and how his skin made contact with the heat. Everything loomed black and burnt but was healing better. (It was prob healing from PAW PAW OINTMENT LOL)
"Oh my god." Carrie gasped. "But what does this have to do with your memories?"
"When I got taken to the S.H.I.E.L.D medics, Sam and the rest of the team decided to tell my Aunt about what happened, because I was probably not gonna come home in weeks," Parker explained
"But I think she'd rather have that than have you swinging from building to building, tryna ignore a big bruise like that."
Peter shrugged off Sam's comment and continued. "When they went to tell her, Sam remembered something about a family coming first... That's when he started to think about you guys."
Sam nodded. "When I told Pete, the first thing we did was go to Arizona, hoping to find something. And I found you!" He grinned.
"Sam!" His mom wrapped her arms all around him and he hugged back.
But the precious moment was once again interrupted by the only Director Nicholas Fury himself. Their communicators started beeping again.
Peter sighed. "Can't you see we're having a moment?!" He started off.
"I'll ask you ONE. LAST. TIME. Where are you, boys!" Nick furiously yelled.
"Chill! We're at my house!" Sam like loudly said.
"YOUR HOUSE?" A few voices echoed in the background, it sounded like The Ultimates and half of The Web Warriors. (Iron Spider, Kid Arachnid, Scarlet Spider and Agent Venom).
"Woah!" Sam bounced back. "I didn't think so many people were there!"
Fury crossed his arms. Just then, Alexander's backyard started to light up. Carrie and Eva opened the door to see what was happening.
They looked up and thought of regretting it. "Uhh, guys?"
The boys ran to Carrie after hearing her call. They looked up.
The tricarrier was hovering directly above the house.
"Uh oh," Spidey said aloud.
"Uh oh is right." A voice said behind the four. They turned to find Director Fury standing there with his hands in his coat's pockets. "Nova was meant to be training with his friends. And Spider-Man was meant to be in the medic."
"Yeah? Well, family mattered more, Fury!" Peter argued, he had no idea why he was yelling, but he knew he'll regret it later on.
"And we aren't family?" Ava popped up from behind the director, along with Danny and Luke. Who all looked disappointed.
"No offence, Ava, but Pete was talking about a real family. The ones that S.H.E.I.L.D didn't tell me about!" Sam pointed at Fury angrily.
"We wanted to tell you once you told us that you were starting to remember them!"
"But why!? Why not tell me sooner!?"
"We figured that you wouldn't believe us!" Fury answered.
Luke turned to Danny with sorrowful eyes, he looked back at Sam. "You should've told one of us what you were going through, Sam. You've been so quiet lately, we could've helped you..."
"Yeah?" Sam relaxed his muscle that felt insanely tense. "Well, I didn't need to. The entire Web Warriors already knew."
Peter made his silent shocked chibi noise. "You knew that we knew!?"
Sam stared at Peter, trying to hide his confusion for that phrase. "of course! The minute I put on my helmet to leave Aunt May's house, I could tell that he was on the ceiling! Also, I figured that Aunt May would've told you anyway!"
"Then how come The Web Warriors didn't do anything about this!?" Luke asked.
"It was up to Sam! Not us! Plus, how were we supposed to know that S.H.E.I.L.D didn't plan on telling Sam!?" Peter argued back.
Ava and Danny, at this point, had no idea what was going on.
"If you found your family, wouldn't you go find them," Sam asked Luke, knowing he'll give the answer to this.
Luke paused, stating at the ground. "Yeah, I would..." He turned to Ava and Danny. "Because that's what I did..." Then turned back at Sam then Peter, and lastly to Director Fury. "They have a point, you know?"
Ava and Danny stared at each other.
"Wait..." Ava said. "Sam, this is your house? And you lost your memory!? Are these people part of your family?!"
Peter winced. "Wait, you didn't know?" He stood up straight.
"They weren't told anything, it's because they cared, they came down here." Nick Fury answered
Luke folded his arms. "I was just putting the pieces together. I have a family too, Sam; a mom and a dad. And when I got them back, I did the exact same thing you did."
"--Tell Spider-Man and let him break the rules so you could see them again? Yeah, you all have that in common." Fury interrupted.
"Hey!" Pete pointed at Fury. "Just because I get thrown into situations, doesn't mean it's always my fault!"
Fury said nothing but roll his eyes as Luke continued. "That, and the fact that we both would do whatever it takes."
"--Like disobey Director Fury?" Mrs Alexander joined with a disappointed sass.
"Yep," Sam admitted. "Spidey's fault," Luke said at the same time.
Peter huffed, as Fury grinned like he was low key saying out loud "I told you so" but only for Peter to hear as a tease. Peter felt it and rolled his eyes.
"So this is your family?" Luke pointed at Mrs Alexander and Carrie.
Sam shook his head and pointed at his mom. "That's my mom, and that used to be my girlfriend before I disappeared, now she's a babysitter for my little ten-year-old sister and we're still figuring out our relationship since we haven't hit that topic yet."
Fury raised an eyebrow, it was the one over his patch. "Where's the little sister?"
"Upstairs." Carrie interrupted. "Probably eavesdropping and not actually sleeping at this point."
She turned to one of the windows of Sam's house. "Are you Kaelynn!" She yelled.
Faint giggling could be heard, but nothing else.
The group smiled but didn't go further on the topic of Kaelynn. "So... You lived in Arizona?" Ava asked with a quieter voice.
Sam shrugged. "Who knew. Right?"
Everyone but Fury chuckled, he just shifted a little and said. "Alright kids, it's getting late. Ava, Luke, Danny, you three go back in the tricarrier. Sam, you can sleep here from now on I guess."
He finally turned to Parker. "And you, Parker." He brought his hand out for shaking. "Glad to have you back-"
"Actually, Fury!" Sam stepped in, feeling Peter's discomfort but did it anyway. "Peter was lying to you, his foot didn't get better and every time he took a step, he would feel the pain."
"Really?" Fury raised both eyebrows at Peter.
"Sam!" Pete slightly punched the Arizonan.
"Peter?" Danny spoke up before Ava cut in. "Is this true!?"
Parker and Alexander turned to their team. "Uh... Yeah. But it doesn't hurt that much." He looked down at his foot.
They all knew he was lying. Fury shook his head. "You're staying in the tricarrier as well. I'm going to make a call with your Aunt, but as punishment for lying, you're finding your own way inside."
The team and Fury turned around and headed behind the house, outside and onto the road. Fury reached in for his pocket and grabbed out some keys.
Pressing a button, a large ship appeared and the group went inside, ditching Parker.
Pete smacked his face. "I guess I should head up there..." He groaned.
He pulled up his sleeve to show his web shooter and was about to press with two fingers but was immediately stopped but a hand on his shoulders and a "wait!"
He turned to Sam. "Yeah?"
"Don't. It's going to hurt."
"No, it won't trust me! I-" peter was interrupted by the Arizonan again.
"Don't lie to me, Peter. I've seen a bad burn before, I know what dealing with it is like."
Peter's eyes widened. "D-did you call me by my first name?"
Sam smiled. "Get used to it. I'll fly you up."
"Wh- wai- what- really?! I- I mean thanks, Sam but I can deal with a little pain..."
"Yeah, but think of it as a thank you gift for getting me so far and actually finding out who my family was."
"Hey," Pete placed a hand over his friend's shoulder. "You don't have to repay me for anything. We're fam, we care about each other. Besides, this wasn't my first rodeo show... Helping you, Luke, Ava, Danny... I- It's just what I do..."
Sam nodded with a frown, he did his best to fight a tear. "Only you can do things like this without asking for anything in return. I've been apart of many teams before S.H.E.I.L.D recruited me, and none of them, and I mean NONE of them, cared about each teammate individually as much as you do. That's why I've always seen you as the best leader."
Peter said nothing, he tried, but he couldn't! His mouth was closed and he was blushing.
Sam turned his back at Peter and let his both hands out, his black Nova Helmet flew out a window and into his hands. He turned back to Pete.
"I could carry you normally... But they've already left the entire country by now, so I'm gonna have to fly pretty fast." He picked Peter up bridal style, making Pete blush more. "That'll have to do..."
He surrounded himself in blue light and levitated in the air. "Mom, I'm gonna go drop my friend to the Tricarrier! I'll be back soon!"
"Take your time, Samuel!" Was heard from inside.
Peter's eyelids drifted between open and close. The warmth Nova was giving from the NovaForce made it hard to resist. Nova noticed it and held his friends closer. "Yeah, don't worry, you can sleep if you want to. It's late anyway."
With that, Pete drifted to sleep.
Sam smiled, grateful that he was doing the best he could to repay Pete. Also surprised that his plan worked; get him speechless, hover over the ground a little to let the NovaForce push him into sleep, take him to the tricarrier, and place him on the bed so he doesn't have to walk anywhere.
He flew out over the seas to find the tricarrier, the weather was terrible, it was raining but never hit Nova and Peter thanks to the NovaForce evaporating the water about him. He managed to keep Peter the same with his power as well.
A little while later, he found the tricarrier.
Nova shifted his wrist around without waking Pete up and called for his team.
"Yeah?" Danny answered.
"Two things. One, can you open the door? I carried Spidey here, but he's asleep and I can't open the door without either hand. And two, did you say 'yeah'? That's a little informal, don't you think." Nova replied.
Danny groaned, he rolled off his bed, forgetting he was a top bunk, and fell to the very bottom, making a loud "THUD" and a big "ARGH" at the same time.
He sat up again with a bigger groan and turned to the other beds, nobody woke up. Surprising. "'M... Comin'..." He groaned, standing up and limply making his way to the door outside.
Nova flew inside, making sure he was a few centimetres of the ground because he knew it was still cold in the tricarrier corridors, and he didn't want to wake Peter up in the cold.
"Are you okay?" Sam whispered to Danny.
Danny made another tired groan and headed back for his bed. Nova rolled his eyes and carried his friend to the medical room, where Conners was still awake.
Once inside, he slowly descended to the ground and carefully dropped Peter in a bed.
"Is he okay?" Conners asked, noticing the man unconscious.
Nova nodded, "he's alright, I just used the Nova force to keep him asleep."
Conners smiled and nodded. "Thanks, Nova. It makes it easier for me to work."
Nova smiled and nodded back to the doc. "Now I'm gonna check on Danny because he might've hurt himself when getting off his bed to help me out."
The doc nodded understanding. "See you soon."
Nova left the medics and headed for the team's room. He noticed Danny struggling to climb onto his bed. The Nova sighed and flew over to Danny, lifting him as he did to Peter and gently placed him on the bed.
Danny's eyes were closed, but he was still able to slightly murmur "m... Thank..yohh"
Hearing the tired thank you from Danny, he smiled and flew through the door. It felt good to take some weight off his leader's shoulders. Especially for one who didn't ask for it. Peter deserves a break.
Last time he ever got one, he ended up getting captured by Doc Ock, but that was years ago, Doc's a good guy now.
Nova sighed, only Parker can find the good in the worst of people.
Justice was similar to Parker, but he never thought of each and every one of his teammates like Peter did. He also wasn't as thoughtful as Parker. That's why Sam left because he felt disrespected. When Scarlet-Spider first joined, Sam was already gone, but they knew he was in S.H.E.I.L.D Academy, so when they found out that Scarlet was a professor there, they gave the same disrespect, but maybe a little bit worse.
Ms Marvel was nicer. She cared about all her teammates, no one ever felt left out. Just like how Spidey treated him. Marv always had a better bond with Nova than anyone else, she was his closest friend back then, and he was grateful to know a leader like her. She was also as smart as Spidey, in fact, Nova can see those two getting along big time; they're amazing at making plans. But Ms Marvel didn't trust Sam with her personal life, it almost made him feel untrustworthy because she knew his. But Sam never blamed her. She's also not as good at saving villains like Spidey; like said before, Spidey can turn bad guys into good guys, while Ms Marvel doesn't try, she just calls them to surrender and when they don't, she fights.
There was also Starlord and Rocket. Those two were more like mentors than real leaders; sure, the team was like a big family, but they're careless to each other when they want to be. When their teammates were dealing with personal issues, they wouldn't get involved as Spidey would, they'd help, but only because they were dragged into it. Meanwhile, Spidey makes it seem like he would give the world to protect his friends and family.
Sure, the New Warriors, Champions, and The Guardians of The Galaxy helped him learn to be a better Nova, but it wasn't the fighting skills that made Nova the best he was, it was the leadership skills he learnt from Pete.
Peter cares for everyone, he'd never give up hope until his friends were safe. As a leader, he doesn't make them do what he says, he asks them to, and they trust him no matter how crazy his plans are. Instead of them working for him, they all work with him. He doesn't think of himself, he thinks of him with everyone, forget the "I" or the "me", there's only "we" and "us" in team. He talks to people in a way that his words sink in deeper than the universe in quicksand, and he doesn't blame anyone for mistakes, he fixes them as soon as it happens, then privately trains them a little to show what can be done to avoid the issues.
Nova has always looked up to Peter, someday in the future, a new generation of Novas is going to grow, and they're going to need a mentor, or at least, a new Nova leader.
One day, Sam will no longer be the last Nova, and he has to do something about it. He knows that when the prophecy has begun, he can always ask Spidey for advice.
Nova sighed again, he finally decided to stop staring at his team's room and finally head home where his mom might be missing him.
So that's where he went.
THE END
