Jumin let out a lazy sigh. It was early morning, the rising sun easily visible through his penthouse window. He turned on his phone like usual to check the messenger. Oh, great. Seven and Zen were online.

707: y e e t

ZEN: stop saying that lol

707: lol ok

707: what were u gonna say?

ZEN: I broke my ankle at rehearsal today... so now I have to stay home;;

707: Awwh that sucks

ZEN: Yeah rehearsal is really all I do... but now I can barely walk

Jumin Han: How stupid.

707: Jumin's online? wow you finally said something

ZEN: Tch, that jerk...! How rude can someone be to insult someone because they're hurt?

Jumin Han: You should just have a job like mine.

Jumin Han: Even if your ankle's broken you can still work just fine.

ZEN: No way am I working like that jerk!

ZEN: I don't want to become all douchey like Jumin

707: wow lol

707: You two are on fire today

ZEN: It's all that trust fund kid's fault! How dare he insult my job! You know what- your job's dumb too!

Jumin Han: Okay.

707: Wonder what's with you all of sudden. Maybe I should leave

ZEN: No way am I gonna be alone with this dude then

707: lol i was just kidding

--Jumin Han left the chatroom--

707: Oh it seems he wanted to leave first..

ZEN: Wow lol

ZEN: What's up with him today?

707: I don't know, maybe he secretly cares about your ankle!

707: Jumin might be those called a ... "tsundere" type

707: He acts mean when he actually cares about the other person

ZEN: Okay, I know what it means. I don't need a whole definition lol

707: Oh okay

707: Well it would be pretty funny if that guy cared about you a lot

ZEN: He doesn't care about anyone except his cat

ZEN: Y'know, we should stop dissing him

707: yaaaaaa

ZEN: ...

ZEN: I'll just go practice my lines

707: Okay! Laterz

Jumin continued throughout the day in his usual routine. He went to the C&R building like usual and worked in his office alone. But Jumin couldn't get his mind off Zen.

You see, this wasn't the first time the CEO had been thinking about Zen this much. It happened a lot, actually, but Jumin would never admit it. In fact, he didn't know whether to hate or love the actor. Though Jumin always found it amusing when he teased Zen, he really never found it in him to call Zen a friend, even though they did have an awkward friendship.

Jumin hated thinking about these things. If it wasn't about work or Elizabeth the 3rd, it was unnecessary. That was how Jumin liked to put it. However, no matter how much he tried to keep his thoughts and feelings to himself, there was always someone who noticed something off with him.

"A-Are you sure this is a good idea, Mr. Han?" Jumin's assistant glanced at her boss expectantly. Jumin was staring back at her blankly, his grey eyes showing nothing. Jaehee couldn't help but be worried for her boss. Why was he taking so long to respond? And Jaehee hated the look Jumin was giving her, it looked almost scary to her. She hoped her boss was feeling alright. More stress for Jumin meant he made more cat-related projects, which meant more work for Jaehee. And the last thing that Jaehee wanted was more work.

"Mr. Han?" Jaehee said the man's name again, hoping to get a reaction this time. Finally Jumin snapped out of his thoughts and blinked a couple times before tilting his head back at his assistant.

"Oh... J- Assistant Kang, what is it?" Damn it, I almost called Assistant Kang Jaehee... Jumin ignored his own thoughts as he glanced at his assistant briefly before looking back at the papers on his desk.

"I was just wondering, is it really necessary to make the cat shop business, sir? I-" Jaehee's quiet voice got cut off by Jumin's bold, sharp tone.

"Yes. I believe it is quite necessary," Jumin said forcefully as he placed his hands on the desk.

"A... Are you sure? It's just... the company may lose a lot of profit from that..." Jaehee would honestly be perfectly fine with the project, if she didn't have to work on it, that is.

"What kind of question is that? I'm the CEO. I know what I'm doing, Assistant Kang," he told her.

"Clearly, you don't..." Jaehee muttered.

"Did you say something?" Jumin asked.

"Oh, no sir. If that's your final answer then I guess I'll excuse myself," Jaehee told him politely.

"Goodbye." The dark-haired CEO watched his assistant duck out of his office. "Finally, alone again..."

He had nothing else to do. Though Jumin liked being alone, he hated thinking about anything unprofessional. Jumin decided to open up the messenger to keep himself busy. He noticed Zen had said something earlier and read it.

ZEN: God...

Yoosung: What is it?

ZEN: I just checked my temp earlier...

ZEN: ...101 degrees?!

Yoosung: What?! That's horrible!!

Yoosung: Zen! You have a fever!

ZEN: Haha...

ZEN: No way... my body never does that.

ZEN: That thermometer must be lying...

Yoosung: Do you feel sick at all??

ZEN: Well, I feel really dizzy if I move too much... and I have a bad headache

ZEN: And I feel really cold no matter how many blankets are around me.

Yoosung: You must have a fever then!

Yoosung: But you're right about that being really weird...

ZEN: Yeah...

Yoosung: I hope you feel better!

ZEN: Thanks... I hope this is only because of the cold weather... I might have overworked myself

Yoosung: That's true. And you always recover really fast, so i'm sure it'll be the same this time!

ZEN: Thanks... I'm going to go get lunch.

Yoosung: Ok! Hope you feel better!

"He has a fever now as well..?" Jumin said to himself. That was really odd, as Zen never got sick for some unknown reason. Jumin couldn't help but worry, but he didn't know why. What made Zen so different from anyone else?

Jumin continued to ponder the thought as he left work. He checked the messenger frequently, to see if Zen said anything new. Nothing. "Damn... he must be really sick if he's not able to respond properly." Jumin considered checking up on him. Would it be okay? Perhaps... if he didn't tell the RFA members and kept it a secret, then he could do it.

Jumin decided it was the best choice. After work ended and he left the office, he asked Jaehee to watch Elizabeth 3rd.

"But Mr. Han, you don't have to go anywhere," Jaehee told him. "W-Wouldn't you want to watch Elizabeth yourself?"

"I need to check something," Jumin replied, placing some papers in a bag.

"Okay... I'll call up Driver Kim. Where are you going?" Jaehee asked.

"I'll call him. It's fine. Just watch Elizabeth," Jumin informed her.

"Alright then. Goodbye," Jaehee was wondering where in the world her boss had to go to. It must be something private if he wasn't telling her, but what was it? She decided it wasn't good to think about those kinds of things and left into her car.

Jumin called up Driver Kim who picked him up a few minutes later. "Where would you like to go?" he asked Jumin.

"Ah..." Jumin hesitated before telling him Zen's address. "You can stay outside as I go in."

"Okay. It's only a few minutes away from here," Driver Kim informed him. The drive was silent as Jumin looked outside the window. Eventually, the car stopped and Jumin could see a small
apartment complex. Damn... Zen's apartment is so small. It would be so much better if he came to live in my penthouse- wait, what am I thinking?

Jumin got out of the car, not expecting a blast of air to greet him. "Damn it, I didn't bring my jacket. I'm going to get a cold by this rate," he muttered under his breath, watching a puff of white air escape from his mouth.

He walked over to the open door for the apartment complex. Jumin knew Zen lived in the basement apartment so he knocked loudly on the door.

No answer.

"God... I hope he's okay. He might just be really tired..." Jumin trailed off as he tried to open the doorknob. It surprisingly burst open. He started to take a step inside, but then stopped himself. What if Zen wasn't okay? What if this wasn't even Zen's apartment? Jumin tried not to doubt himself.

He walked inside and spotted a bed. Under the covers was the white-haired actor that Jumin expected: Zen. There was a lot of sweat on his face. On the nightstand lay a thermometer and his phone. Jumin stayed silent and looked at Zen, a small smile on his face. Zen looked really peaceful when he was sleeping. Jumin thought he looked quite handsome when Zen wasn't dissing him or being annoyed by his presence. Not realizing it himself, he reached out his hand and touched Zen's skin, but quickly retaliated. Jumin's eyes widened. Zen had a fever, so his skin should be really warm, right? But the feeling Jumin got was the complete opposite.

Zen's skin was cold.

Dead cold.
