"Ow!" Kokichi exclaimed as he got on the bus. Something pricked his leg as he had went up the steps. He turned around to see who did it and saw Kaito holding some black case or something. "What's that? A machine gun or some shit?"
"It's Shuichi's violin! How is this a machine gun?!" Kaito exclaimed.
"Shuichi's, huh? Who would trust someone instrument to you?" Kokichi teased, trying not to wince from the pain in his leg.
"H-Hey! Stop saying things like that!" Kaito said in frustration, unable to think of a good comeback.
Kokichi grinned to himself as he sat down. Teasing Kaito always made him feel good for some reason. But even so, he knew it was going to be a long day. If hell wasn't real, school created it.
Lunch eventually came, but Kokichi didn't have the need to eat anything. He sat with Kiibo and Rantaro like he usually did, Kaito's table behind him, where he usually teased Kaito like usual. But even Kokichi didn't have the heart to do that at the moment.
The supreme leader did notice something odd, however. Shuichi has sat at their table that day. Shuichi usually sat with Kaede at another table, and Kokichi honestly didn't give the detective a second look. Shuichi looked slightly interested in what Kokichi was doing though, which the purple-haired male found suspicious.
"Aren't you going to eat lunch?" Shuichi asked, pointing to the cafeteria menu.
Rantaro, also finding the situation odd, narrowed his eyes at the detective. "If you were one of Kokichi's friends, maybe you would already be aware of the fact that Kokichi never takes lunch unless it's good."
Kiibo placed an arm ontop of Rantaro's hand and looked at him questioningly. "You don't need to be so mad. Shuichi just wants to talk with us..."
"Really? Undereating isn't good. Are you okay?" Shuichi looked at Kokichi with widened eyes.
Fake.
"I think I'm surviving fine," Kokichi said matter-of-factly.
For some reason, Shuichi had decided to sit at the table. Kiibo ended up letting him because he didn't want to be mean. But still, everyone could sense the awkward silence that filled the lunch table between the boys. Kiibo, Rantaro, and Kokichi couldn't talk about what they usually did with Shuichi hearing them.
Lunch quickly ended, luckily, so Kokichi was able to leave the awkward situation he had got into. For some reason, he started feeling worse as the day went on. His last period, Physics, felt like hell. All throughout the teacher giving lectures on the four forces, his headache worsened by the minute.
By the time the teacher has started taking about strong and weak nuclear force, Kokichi couldn't stand it. His was pinpointing all this pressure he was feeling into his pencil, gripping it so hard that it had snapped in two. Worst part was that no one he knew was in his class, so everyone just stared at him in confusion.
The supreme leader buried his head in his hands and cried silently. No one noticed. The teacher continued to lecture. Why... is this happened...? Kokichi thought as warm tears covered his face like a mask, though it was quite the opposite. Since when did school become so hard...?
He suffered until the period ended and the bell rang, finally releasing him from school.
Kaito noticed Kokichi looked really nauseous on the bus, and he didn't know what to say to him. The poor boy looked like he was fighting the urge to vomit, grabbing the seat tightly to stop himself.
Luckily, Kaito was neighbors with Kokichi, so the Ultimate Astronaut told himself he would just go to his house after school. After the bus dropped the two off and Kaito left his backpack in his house, he ran to Kokichi's house. Why was he doing this anyway? Kokichi never did anything for him!
He rang the doorbell multiple times, but there was no answer. Eventually, Kaito tried to open the front door himself, and gasped in surprise that it was unlocked. "Kokichi? Where are you!" he yelled.
Kaito tried to stay silent as he walked around the house to hear Kokichi. He ran to the bathroom and saw Kokichi laying near the toilet. His eyes were closed. When Kaito looked into the toilet, he could piles and piles of vomit, and bright pink blood mixed in as well. Grimacing and flushing the toilet, Kaito turned back to Kokichi. "Oh god, what do I do..." he muttered, shaking the small boy by the shoulders so he could wake up.
Kaito placed his warm hand on Kokichi's chest, trying to feel for a heartbeat. Nothing. Nada. Maybe he was just bad at this. Maybe Kaito's just bad at finding heartbeats. Kokichi couldn't be...
"You can't be dead, Kokichi!"
