Teddy Bear (Soulmate AU) (Prinxiety)

So, this is a Soulamte AU where you have a teddy bear (called a SoulBear) that has a physical characteristic of your soulmate, but something only they have. If a person has no legs, the bear their soulmate owns has none. Simple. Any questions, just ask me in the comments or message me!

(We start our story LONG AGO, when Thomas was younger)

Roman clutched his teddy bear around the chest. He had no idea why he had a teddy bear with dark shade under its brown button eyes and purple patches on its arms and back. It wasn't until Virgil appeared one day, a tiny baby with a bear it its arms curled up on the couch. Patton, being the oldest, immediately took the child in his arms, and cared for it like a father. Logan pulled his books out so he could remember how to look after a child, for he hadn't looked at them since Roman appeared.

Roman simply stared as Patton carried the child away. Patton was carrying Virgil away, and had the little baby over his shoulder, so Roman held up his bear and compared the smols. He could see a little grayish-black under the baby's eyes, as if it hadn't had any sleep. He looked at the bear's dark circles under its eyes, but shook his head. It must've been his imagination.

(TiMe SkIp to the "Fitting In at Hogwarts" video)

Roman stared at Virgil, not able to form his words correctly. Not only did Virgil look stunning, but the creative Side felt like he should remember something he couldn't. This unnerved him, so as soon as they had finished the video, he hurried back to his room. He closed the door before anyone could ask him any questions, and flung open his closet. He had so many copies of all of his outfits, costumes, and Thomas' clothes that it was basically a portal to the Fashion Dimension. He also had an abundance of accessories and, more important to him right then, stuffed animals tossed in there.

Roman dove in, looking in every basket, hamper, bin, and shelf he could. After ten minutes, he felt a little discouraged. But as he turned around to go back, He saw a tiny purple and brown lump in a hamper of clothes he hadn't washed in years. He quickly dug it out, and uncovered his SoulBear. There was no denying it, those were the same patches and dark circles that Virgil had.

Roman gulped, tears welling up in his throat. There were rips and tear in the fabric, and the dark circles looked darker than he remembered. He knew it wasn't VooDoo, so it didn't hurt Virgil, but it felt like a sword was stuck in Roman's chest when he realized that he had been so awful to the one he should have loved with all his heart. He clutched the bear tight, as if that was a way of apologizing. Tears began to run down his cheeks, and a sob burst from his lips.

Roman fell to his knees, still clutching the SoulBear tight. His mouth felt full of words that wanted to spill out, all apologies and "I love you"s. But what bullied its way to the front was a gut-wrenching, heartbreaking, soul-splitting scream that rang throughout the Mind Palace.

Thomas, who had been out to coffee with Joan and Terrence, suddenly had a migraine.

Patton and Logan, who had been reading on the couch, jumped and yelped a little.

Virgil, who had been listening to music in his room, sprang from his bed, stuffed his SoulBear in his pocket like he always did, and ran to Roman's room, skidding to a halt. He opened the door quickly, and ran into the giant closet. He saw Roman at the end, still on his knees and crying a waterfall. Virgil could feel the sorrow and guilt and fear that was practically radiating off of the creative Side. He sat in front of Roman, not wanting to disturb the prince's soft sobs. Then he saw the bear in Roman's arms, and recognized the fabric. His eyes widened, then softened, and he pulled his SoulBear from his pocket. He looked at the emblem on the arms, and the strip of red fabric across its chest and back. He looked at the sobbing Roman, and suddenly pulled him into a hug.

"I'm sorry... I'm so sorry... I'm sorry..." Roman kept muttering through his tears.

"Shh, shh, shh... I'm fine, you're fine, we're fine... Shh, don't cry..." Virgil whispered, rubbing Roman's back and running his fingers through the prince's purple hair. Patton and Logan chose that moment to run in, but soon backed out to give them privacy. They smiled, and shared a peck on the lips, remembering how they found each other.

"Virgil, I- I- how didn't I see before?" Roman asked, looking up at Virgil through tear-filled eyes.

"I'm the one who should be asking that, Princey." Virgil smiled softly, and Roman smiled back. He glanced at Virgil's lips, then looked up questioningly. Virgil answered by pulling Roman into a kiss.

Thanks to DLCSROX for helping me pick the ship! I had the idea, but no ship for it. When I saw her a few days ago, I apparently turned her into Prinxiety trash (her words). The poor girl didn't even know that people shipped the Sides!

Sorry about not posting recently! Until next time, au revoir!
