On dirait que t'as toujours été là (Moxiety)

Yes, I'm doing Moxiety, it just works for this, okay? Also, wait for my cue to play the song

Virgil sat alone in his room, listening to music through his headphones. He leaned back on the wall, tilting his head up. He usually didn't listen to anything not in english, but this song... it just drew him in. The charming language lured him in, and the message, that everyone has an angel watching over them, comforted him.

"On dirait que t'as toujours été là~" He sang along. "It looks like you have always been there," He sighed, a small smile painting his face. He heard a knock at the door, and quickly switched the song to some MCR. "Whatcha want?"

"It's me, Patton! Can I come in?" Without waiting for a response, the cinnamon roll walked in. Virgil allowed a small smile on his face. Patton didn't mean anything by barging in, it was just a habit, and one that's gotten him in trouble before.

"What's up Pat?" Virgil asked, pausing his music, making sure Patton saw it was DEFINITELY MCR, not some cheesy song by a french singer.

"I heard some really nice singing in here, but I couldn't understand it. What's 'ohn dirat cuh da too-joo eh teh la'?" Virgil couldn't help but giggle at Patton's terrible pronunciation.

"I think you mean 'on dirait que t'as touj'-" Virgil cut himself off. Crap, now I have to tell him what it means and that I speak french! SHIZZ! he thought frantically.

"Cool! What song is that from?" Patton squealed, and Virgil looked up in surprise.

"Uh, On Dirait by Amir," Virgil took out his phone and showed Patton the song. After the song ended, Patton frowned. "Did you not like it?"

"I love it, but that's not the voice I heard. I know that wasn't!" Patton put his head in his hands. "I really liked the voice I first heard, and now I might not get to hear it again!" Virgil winced, knowing Patton was talking about him.

"Um, how would you describe the voice of this singer compared to the voice you heard?" Virgil asked carefully. Patton paused a moment, then spoke, his cheeks dusted a light pink.

"This singer, Amir was it? His voice is like strawberry frosting. The voice I heard was like dark chocolate with cream filling!" Patton smiled, and looked into Virgil's wide eyes. He rubbed the back of his neck, embarrassed. "That doesn't make sense, does it?"

"N-no, I get it!" Virgil tried not to blush. "I think Amir has a voice like pumpkin bread, but I guess it is like strawberry frosting as well."

"But did you hear that other voice though? The one I heard?" Patton asked, using his puppy-dog eyes. Virgil winced, then smiled a bit. He took a deep breath, pressed play on the music (he had unplugged his headphones), and sang. (Play the song now)

"Tu me dis de regarder la vie en couleur,

Quand il fait noir tout autour de moi.

Sur le dos j'ai trainé pas mal de douleur,

Toi tu m'portais à bout de bras." He sang sweetly, surprising Patton. Virgil paused a moment, but began again when he saw the joy in Patton's eyes.

"Non, non, non, je n'ai pas toujours été sûr de moi,

J'ai douté tellement de fois.

Non, non, non, je n'sais pas c'que je ferais sans toi,

Oh yeah~" He stopped again when he heard Patton chime in for the chorus. The fatherly Side didn't know what the lyrics meant, but he sounded sure of himself when he sang, even pronouncing the words correctly.

"On dirait qu'on à tous un ange,

On dirait, on dirait bien que c'est toi,

On dirait que dans ce monde étrange,

On dirait que t'as toujours été là~" Patton winked and Virgil couldn't control his blush. The anxious Side sang the next verse, and felt a connection between the lyrics and his feelings right then.

"Tu me dis que mon rêve est juste à coté,

Que j'ai juste à tendre la main.

Toute ma vie, j'peux la passer à t'écouter,

La douceur est ton seul refrain.

Non, non, non, ce n'est pas toujours facile pour moi,

J'ai plié tellement de fois.

Non, non, non, je n'sais pas c'que je ferais sans toi,

Oh yeah~" Patton again sang the chorus, Virgil smiling at his shining eyes and passion.

"On dirait qu'on à tous un ange,

On dirait, on dirait bien que c'est toi,

On dirait que dans ce monde étrange,

On dirait que t'as toujours été là~" Virgil picked up right after Patton sang the last note, feeling his heart shift to the rhythm of the bridge.

"Tout, tout tourne autour de toi,

Toi, t'es la seule qui voit la beauté bien cachée derrière les visages.

Tout, tout tourne autour de toi,

Toi, tu sais lire en moi, promets-moi de ne jamais tourner la page?" Here, Patton nodded as if he understood, and picked up the chorus.

"On dirait qu'on à tous un ange,

On dirait, on dirait bien que c'est toi,

On dirait que dans ce monde étrange,

On dirait que t'as toujours été là~" Together, the two of them sang the last chorus in harmony, Patton using his youthful voice to pick up the upbeat soprano and Virgil slipping into a soothing alto.

"On dirait qu'on à tous un ange,

On dirait, on dirait bien que c'est toi,

On dirait que dans ce monde étrange,

On dirait que t'as toujours été là~" Virgil, driven by a courage he didn't know he had, grabbed Patton and pressed their lips together. Patton didn't hesitate to kiss back, and wrapped his arms around Virgil's waist, pulling him closer. The two stayed connected for another twenty, nearly thirty seconds before having to pull apart for air.

"S-sorry..." Virgil turned completely red, letting go of Patton and burying his face in his hoodie sleeves.

"Don't be." Patton chuckled, and pulled Virgil in for another kiss. Virgil wrapped his arms around Patton's neck, and broke away to whisper into his ear.

"Mon ange, on dirait que t'as toujours été là."
