Finally: Keefitz
Mkay so only one day late this week...
That counts for something-
Anyways, we got some nice, juicy, Keefitz for this week! Enjoy!
"Cheater!" Fitz's voice rang out, the scolding tone he was going for not hiding the laughter laced through it.
"Who, me?" Keefe gasped dramatically. "How could you ever even imply that I cheated?" He absently wiped his forehead, gleaming with sweat. He probably spent more effort on cheating than he did actually playing the game.
"Because you obviously did!"
"You'll never be able to prove it!" Keefe crowed. "Which means, one free dare for ME!"
"Not fair!" Fitz laughed, not even trying to hide his smile anymore.
"Maybe not, but too late!" Keefe smirked.
"Rematch?" Fitz suggested. Keefe could never turn down a challenge, and, sure enough, the blonde nodded enthusiastically.
"Ready to get your butt kicked again, Fitzroy?"
"Ready to clean your clothes after I wipe the floor with you?" Fitz crouched, ready to tackle Keefe as soon as he tried to steal the ball from the tree.
"As long as my hair stays safe, I'm fine," Keefe commented predictably, crouching as well.
Fitz snorted, and counted down. "Three, two, one, GO!"
Keefe leaped up as high as he could go- levitation was against the rules, but there was no way he jumped that high on his own- up into the tree, almost reaching the ball. Just as he was about to slap it down, Fitz jumped up and grabbed him around the waist, bringing both of them down to the ground with an oof.
The rolled a few feet, Keefe struggling to push Fitz off of him. Fitz pinned his arms to his sides, turning Keefe onto his back until Fitz was basically on top of him, legs straddling Keefe's waist.
Keefe stopped moving for a second, and Fitz suddenly became aware of how close they were.
They were both sweaty, hot, covered in dirt from their activities. Keefe's hair had become messed up, and not in the artful way he arranged it every morning. Fitz was sure his own hair and clothes were a mess, his face smeared with dirt and his hands caked with soil as they pressed into Keefe's wrists.
Without meaning to, his body relaxed just a bit, until his chest was touching the empath's. Every place their skin connected sent a wave of... something through Fitz's body. His heart sped up, beating irregularly with his uneven breaths.
Wait.
Crap.
Keefe was an empath-
His cheeks flushed, and so did Keefe's, red spreading up his neck.
Keefe still wasn't moving, though, and he even seemed to relax a bit, his body melting, molding into the brunette's as they stared at each other. Fitz was basically just laying on top of Keefe now, their faces only inches apart.
Warm breath brushed Fitz's face, only slightly, and Fitz accidentally let out a small, very quiet sigh, that was hopefully caught in the twittering of birds and the brushing of leaves.
They didn't move.
And then he did, tumbling off of Keefe in a heap as the blonde moved at the same time, turning to his side and sitting up quickly. The game forgotten for a second, Fitz avoided Keefe's eyes, cursing himself for the moment of weakness.
But then there was a touch on his jaw, featherlight and gentle, moving Fitz to face him.
"You still owe me that dare, you know," Keefe breathed, his chest moving up and down unevenly.
"Do I," Fitz managed to get out, keeping his eyes on Keefe's ice blue ones. He would not glance down, not at the lips-
"Yeah. And I have one right now."
"And it is?" Fitz's heart beat even faster, a hummingbird flittering in his chest. He felt lightheaded, but in a good way. He wasn't in his body, it wasn't him saying these words.
"I dare you to kiss me," Keefe whispered, his voice as soft as his fingers, still on Fitz's jaw.
And then he was leaning forward, and then they both were.
And then their lips connected.
And Fitz was back in his body, melting into Keefe's as they kissed.
Keefe's heart was beating just as fast as Fitz's.
What a strange thing. It seemed insignificant, but for some reason, it meant everything, at that moment.
It meant Keefe's nose bumping his, and his fingers in Fitz's hair, and their legs entangled, laying back down until they pressed completely together on the lawn of Everglen.
It meant sun after rain, a smile after crying. It meant light breaking through clouds, and ice glistening after a frost.
It meant them. Together.
Finally.
Heh.
I love Keefitz-
